I hadn't realised it was a possibility - and I find flights boring, not scary
I might choose a 🐒 for entertainment though

How about you ? .... 🐸 🦆 🦉 🦇 🐢 🦔 ?

US woman removed from plane after boarding with 'emotional support' squirrel

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/oct/10/us-woman-flight-plane-emotional-support-squirrel

Frontier Airlines ... said the passenger had noted in her reservation that she was bringing an emotional support animal – but she did not indicate it was a squirrel.
...
The incident followed others where an “emotional support peacock”, Dexter,
was barred from boarding a flight with its owner earlier this year
and, of course, Pebbles, the emotional support hamster, which ended up flushed down a toilet. Shock

The name of the squirrel has not yet been released. Wink

Polar bear - then queues and twats just wouldn't be problems.

(Just have to stop it eating me or my family)

Tomorrowillbeachicken · 11/10/2018 13:29

FunnysInLaJardin · 11/10/2018 13:35

That serval film was adorable. I particularly liked at the end how the black cat kept poking his/her friend for more play.

BoundByBriars · 11/10/2018 13:39

I laughed so hard when I read that in the news yesterday. I'd have LOVED to have been on that plane!

And how did she even get on board with it?!

Where do we sign up for an emotional support squirrel anyway?

QuizzlyBear · 11/10/2018 13:40

A dragon, obviously.

DisrespectfulAdultFemale · 11/10/2018 13:42

I want an emotional support whale. Depending on my mood that day, it might very well be a killer whale.

peardropexplodes · 11/10/2018 13:43

A grumpy owl.

Annajohnsdottir · 11/10/2018 13:45

I would take a snow leopard. Not because it's dangerous or menacing but because it's so fluffy and soft and it has comically big feet for a cat! Ultimate hugs and all round protection plus added bonus that their feet make me laugh when I look at them! Grin

thighofrelief · 11/10/2018 15:24

I'm phobic about birds, in particular chickens. So could we have a pride of lions for safety?

tequilasunset · 11/10/2018 15:27

A raccoon.

And an otter!

iklboo · 11/10/2018 15:37

Rodriguez fruit bat

There was a meme I saw on Facebook yesterday about getting an emotional support honey badger. Here's what it said:

Do you suffer from anxiety attacks? Are they often caused by stupid people? Get an emotional support honey badger!

Unlike other companion animals that snuggle up to provide physical comfort and a safe space during Anxiety Attacks, the Emotional Support Honey Badger instead physically attacks and savages the absolute living hell out of the stupid idiot bothering you, thus removing the source of the anxiety.

Much more efficient!

Ask your Doctor if Honey Badger is right for you.

My sister sat on flight in the US next to a woman who had a dog on her lap. Luckily if was a short flight, but my sister said it was really annoying. It's also very thoughtless for anyone who might be allergic to or afraid of dogs. And some dogs just smell.

I think that people are exploiting this "emotional support" thing to transport their dogs cheaply.

KeepingTheWormsQuiet · 11/10/2018 17:11

I know that wasn't your question. I wouldn't take an animal on a flight, because I'm not pathetic.

MiggledyHiggins · 11/10/2018 17:17

I'd bring DP. He's Transpanther. and I would only need to buy one ticket

I bet it was playing on its iPad without earphones! Dogs are just so thoughtless like that. Or was it hogging the armrest - they do that too. If it had been a long flight you just know that the second your sister got up to go to the toilet the dog would have hogged her seat and refused to budge. But if she'd had a honey badger with her....

RangeRider · 11/10/2018 17:22

He's Transpanther.
Dress him in a panther onesie and they'd not be able to argue...

BigChocFrenzy · 11/10/2018 18:17

Dog songs are all about aspiring: "can I eat it / shag it / hump its leg / roll in it"

I'll be sure to let my blind friend know she is pathetic for flying with her 'eyes'. Or the lady down the road whose dog alerts her to seizures. Would hate for some judgemental person to decide they are pathetic

NewMinouMinou · 11/10/2018 18:59

DS has already nominated Henry here as his comfort animal.
Look at that face....
