I hadn't realised it was a possibility - and I find flights boring, not scary
I might choose a 🐒 for entertainment though

How about you ? .... 🐸 🦆 🦉 🦇 🐢 🦔 ?

US woman removed from plane after boarding with 'emotional support' squirrel

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/oct/10/us-woman-flight-plane-emotional-support-squirrel

Frontier Airlines ... said the passenger had noted in her reservation that she was bringing an emotional support animal – but she did not indicate it was a squirrel.
...
The incident followed others where an “emotional support peacock”, Dexter,
was barred from boarding a flight with its owner earlier this year
and, of course, Pebbles, the emotional support hamster, which ended up flushed down a toilet. Shock

The name of the squirrel has not yet been released. Wink

An otter, my out and out favourite animal they are so funny!

Runnynosehunny · 11/10/2018 07:36

My dh is very fond of his tropical fish and finds them soothing to watch so he will be bringing his fish tank.

BigChocFrenzy · 11/10/2018 10:43

Some georgous animals for support here (and some pretty scary ones !)
Keep 'em coming.

This airplane is the size of an aircraft carrier, with the super Tardis tech to expand to any shape and to instantly remove any poonamis, shed fur or smells

My friend's cockapoo. She's such a tart and would be flirting with the other passengers that I'd be distracted trying to rein her in.

And you think that the supportive presence of the cockapoo might help your friend to temper her usual behaviour? Grin Grin Grin

Jozen · 11/10/2018 10:51

A falcon.
It's legit to fly within the United Arab Emirates with a falcon.
Instead of an eye mask cap thing my falcon would have a natty little fascinator set at a jaunty angle to cover his/her eyes.

My dog but I would want him to have a seat as he's too big to go on my lap. If that isn't possiblle I would like DS2's bearded dragon as he is a wonderfully calm little beast and snuggles very nicely for a non-furry animal.

Petalflowers · 11/10/2018 11:20

Sorry, is the cockatoo the tart, or the friend?

Petalflowers · 11/10/2018 11:23

I always have a soft spot for ducklings, although i’m not sure they will sit still very long.

A fancy rat. They are super intelligent and could probably help fly the plane. Can I be seated rather a long way from cats and terriers?

TheFaerieQueene · 11/10/2018 11:29

What if the owners of the emotional support honey badger and the emotional support cassowary are on the same plane? I predict a blood bath!

ILoveDaveGrohl · 11/10/2018 11:31

An alpaca with a little Afro

Mrsharrison · 11/10/2018 11:39

The cockatoo is the tart. And absolutely gorgeous but don't she know it!

Mrsharrison · 11/10/2018 11:40

Cockapoo.

DisrespectfulAdultFemale · 11/10/2018 11:42

Nobody should choose a dolphin though: apart from the slippery, flippery side - there was an OP in AIBU the other night who was really dolphinphobic

I remember that thread: it was a hoot.

DisrespectfulAdultFemale · 11/10/2018 11:52

@MNHQ, can this thread please go into Classics?

I love the idea of an emotional support honey badger and have just put that on my Christmas wish-list.

DisrespectfulAdultFemale · 11/10/2018 11:53

It's legit to fly within the United Arab Emirates with a falcon.

That is true. The husband of a colleague once sat next to one in first class.

Instead of an eye mask cap thing my falcon would have a natty little fascinator set at a jaunty angle to cover his/her eyes.

I would pay folding money to see that.

LividAtDolphins · 11/10/2018 12:05

A Lemur. They're so cute!

And definitely not a dolphin!

DontCallMeCharlotte · 11/10/2018 12:44

My late great ginger cat who would lie in my arms like a baby cuddling my hands and stroking my face for as long as you'd let him. He was so soothing...

BigChocFrenzy · 11/10/2018 13:01

OK, Livid it would be difficult anyway to fit a pool inside the plane !

MN is so often educational.
Now I know I can bring my falcon on the plane in the Emirates, First Class

OK, first I have to acquire a falcon and then morgage the flat for a First Class ticket, but the principle is important

I'm just wondering what Ryanair would charge for a support animal < skims through Ryanair t&c, under loo charges >
I'm fairly sure O'Leary already has a pet crocodile

Pissedoffdotcom · 11/10/2018 13:06

I've changed my mind again. I'm not bringing my own emotional support animal, instead i will bring a hoard of tempting snacks & make friends with all of your animals.

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 11/10/2018 13:06

A serval: m.youtube.com/watch?v=sQkVA1Y4XXs

BigChocFrenzy · 11/10/2018 13:23

Incredible athleticism from the serval, Ychrom
I think we'd have one of those instead of a film, for in-flight ballet
