I hadn't realised it was a possibility - and I find flights boring, not scary
I might choose a 🐒 for entertainment though

How about you ? .... 🐸 🦆 🦉 🦇 🐢 🦔 ?

US woman removed from plane after boarding with 'emotional support' squirrel

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/oct/10/us-woman-flight-plane-emotional-support-squirrel

Frontier Airlines ... said the passenger had noted in her reservation that she was bringing an emotional support animal – but she did not indicate it was a squirrel.
...
The incident followed others where an “emotional support peacock”, Dexter,
was barred from boarding a flight with its owner earlier this year
and, of course, Pebbles, the emotional support hamster, which ended up flushed down a toilet. Shock

The name of the squirrel has not yet been released. Wink

A hedgehog

I don't understand why a (tame) squirrel or hamster would be so bad. They'd be quiet and easily contained, so less likely to disturb other passengers.

Lweji · 11/10/2018 19:20

I'd have to take my guard companion dolphin, of course. But I'd put him in a muzzle, because they're vicious animals. Grin

If they thought it was too dangerous (they are), then my velociraptor. I'd just have to add a few more feathers and they'd never guess it wasn't a bird. Wink

Lweji · 11/10/2018 19:23

Nobody should choose a dolphin though
Angry Mind your own business, will you?

thighofrelief · 11/10/2018 19:24

I'm going to bring head lice and I'm happy to share.

Pissedoffdotcom · 11/10/2018 19:25

Hey if you advertised the fact you had a dolphin nobody would want to sit with you...just think of all the extra leg room you'd have

Discomfort animal in this case...

ScreamingValenta · 11/10/2018 19:28

I'll bring an emotional support penguin.

butterfly56 · 11/10/2018 19:38

I would definitely take one of these cute little un's with me on a plane

iklboo · 11/10/2018 20:06

It's only like having a daemon like in His Dark Materials.

Poisondartfrog · 11/10/2018 20:35

I want to bring an emotional support Ryeland lamb. They have faces like the cutest little teddies.

dudsville · 11/10/2018 20:38

Elk. It would clear the aisle for me. That would make me feel emotionally supported.

ForalltheSaints · 11/10/2018 21:33

Any animal that would mean I could go through customs, passport control and all of that at the front of the queue.

maddiemookins16mum · 11/10/2018 21:34

A baby panda or a baby orangutan .

FlyMaybe · 11/10/2018 21:35

I'd like to take my hawk. But this prince fella got there before me....

Jozen · 12/10/2018 00:29

I know that wasn't your question. I wouldn't take an animal on a flight, because I'm not pathetic

What an odd remark.
I used to see a businessman and his service dog on a domestic flight in Australia regularly.
There was nothing pathetic about him. He was commuting for work like most of us on the 5am flight.

Lweji · 12/10/2018 01:05

If I took a couple of snakes, do you think I'd get a free Samuel L. Jackson?

Please keep the head lice home < scratches madly >

However, I'm learning about some beautiful animals I never knew existed Smile

I'd like Bradley Cooper, please.

How do I arrange this?

I don't need to fly anywhere any time soon, I'd just like some emotional support and if it means shelling out for a plane ticket, Bradley is worth it.

I really love the idea of a support pig. Mostly because of this potential conversation

"Wtf? why are there animals on the plane?"
"It's for the people who need emotional support, Derek, they have their support animals. Maybe we should get one...."
"Oh yeah, right. When pigs fly...."
"Look across the aisle, Derek."

BigChocFrenzy · 12/10/2018 11:21

A quokka is yet another animal whose existence I've learned from this thread
Looks gorgeous
Lovely contemplative expression on its face

I like hedgehogs! In Canada we don't have wild hedgehogs but we can keep them as pets. Unfortunately Hubby and I can't really have one as two of our cats might think it's lunch. (Our other cat, Biggie, would probably try to snuggle it and make friends with it and end up getting hurt by the quills. He is a little strange.)

Sethis · 12/10/2018 15:48

An ostrich.

On the basis that the whole purpose of a support animal is to maximise the inconvenience for every other passenger on the flight.
