NC for this. ‘Dh’ works away most of the week. He recently got a new company iPhone, but kept his old one.
I use find my iPhone app while he’s away to see if he’s back from the office in his hotel room so I know it’s a good time to call most evenings. I noticed tonight that not only has he got his new iPhone and I pad away with him, but his old iPhone too... and it’s online... why would he need it?? I’ve got a horrible feeling in my gut....

Does he play Pokémon Go? Some people use a different phone for each account.

RangeRider · 19/09/2018 18:15

Has he got stuff on it that he's not transferred & he either needs or plans on transferring? Contacts, photos etc.?

RatRolyPoly · 19/09/2018 18:16

If his company gave him a new one, who's paying the bill on the old one? Wouldn't they have ended that contract? Or have I misunderstood and they aren't both company phones?

woollytights · 19/09/2018 18:16

Games, pictures, contacts etc still stored on the old phone?

Treacletoots · 19/09/2018 18:17

I just got a new phone and it took me about a week to finally get round to transferring everything over. It could just be that he can't be arsed with the hassle.

Why no bring up the subject, have you tried that phone clone software that makes it really easy? A friend was just asking today...

HollowTalk · 19/09/2018 18:17

Does his company have free access to his phone in terms of seeing what he's messaged etc?

TheQueef · 19/09/2018 18:17

Does his company restrict internet access or content?

HoraceWimpIsThisYourLife · 19/09/2018 18:18

I think you would need more evidence before you jump to cheating. I’ve kept two phones before because my old phone had lots of credits I’d use on agame that wouldn’t transfer to a new phone.

Also if he’s working away he wouldn’t need a secret phone as he could presumably use his normal phone for contacting OW. Not as if you are there to check it.

Basecamp65 · 19/09/2018 18:18

Lots of reasons - had he transferred all his files, numbers, photos, apps from his old phone????

Why would you immediately assume something bad?

RatRolyPoly · 19/09/2018 18:18

Treacletoots I just had the same thing - two phones for a week!

Shampaincharly · 19/09/2018 18:20

I think a work phone is just a work phone.

Surely there must be more going on for you to have such a bad feeling?

Popc0rn · 19/09/2018 18:22

1 for work, 1 for personal uses?

My boyfriend has one personal phone, and two work phones.

I don't understand couples using the find my iPhone thing to keep tabs on their partner, it seems instrusive to me. You either trust someone or you don't?

MrsFamily · 19/09/2018 18:22

Are both phones from his company? My DH had 2 iPhones for about 18 months. One was his, the other provided by his company. The company phone replaced a blackberry so really he just used it to retrieve work emails as he used to use his blackberry.

I should caveat this by saying that DH can use technology but really cannot be bothered to fathom out how to maximise its use. He also likes to keep work and home stuff separate so probably wouldn't think to combine the two.

Can't say it has ever occurred to me to track him using either phone although in fairness he doesn't work away much like your DH.

Howhot · 19/09/2018 18:23

So is one a work phone and one a personal phone? I wouldn't be mixing the two

Feelsick18 · 19/09/2018 18:23

All his stuff is transferred onto his new phone, I was there when he did it. I just don’t understand why he would need to take an iPhone, an iPad and this old phone away with him? I can’t think of any plausible reason ?

2 is standard if one's a work phone. Work will have the right to access the phone whenever they want so he'll need to keep his social media, photos, games and shit on his personal phone.

Nassau · 19/09/2018 18:24

DH had 2 phones at one stage - work phone was turned off at weekends and only used for work stuff. Personal phone used for everything else. (Although he did ring me from his work phone while away as it was cheaper!)

Feelsick18 · 19/09/2018 18:26

They old and new phones are both work phones ( ie provided by work) but he uses them for everything, work and personal calls, emails etc. He changed to the new phone about 8 weeks ago.

I play an online game and have 1 account on my big ipad, one on my mini, one on my phone! I also have a work phone. So, if I was going away I would probably take at least one ipad and both phones! Unless there's other evidence I wouldn't jump to cheating either.

MrsFamily · 19/09/2018 18:27

Actually, thinking about this, my DH has probably still got two phones as fairly sure he was given one when he moved jobs earlier this year. Think it lives in his jacket pocket though and he periodically checks emails.

Either that or he is leading a double life and I've not noticed.

KlutzyDraconequus · 19/09/2018 18:30

Most people with a company phone also keep a private phone don't they?

I've got 2 phones, neither of them company, I just have two numbers people might need to contact me on.

It's not that unusual or at least it's not a direct connection in my opinion
2 phones = up to no good.

Twotailed · 19/09/2018 18:31

Is the old one a personal phone? I have a work phone and a personal phone and have both with me all the time.

Not at all weird to take the iPad too - better for Netflix, internet browsing, movies etc.

Feelsick18 · 19/09/2018 18:32

No online games he plays, the old work phone is essentially ‘defunct’. It usually lives on his bedside drawer. Sorry, this sounds like I’m drip feeding but I’m in a bit of a state. Why would he take and use a second iPhone ? My only other thought is to use to watch porn which he knows I hate and has caused many rows between us in the past .
