To target a politician’s children is UNREASONABLE!

Just that. Not a fan of Rees-Mogg but no child should EVER be targeted so horribly anywhere, let alone on their doorstep. I am just so shocked that anyone thinks this is ok.

Another thing I don’t understand is why their nanny was answering that idiots questions. It’s nothing to do with her or the children and she shouldn’t have felt she needed to reply. Both her and the children should not have been subjected to
that

Everanewbie · 12/09/2018 14:22

It seems to me that some of the hate language on here is an example of how this polarized culture has been cultivated. A culture that seems to think that because 'we are good, you are evil' viscous attacks that go beyond on all decency are ok. On the whole I feel that politicians are at heart good people, they just have different views on what good looks like, and how we get there.

I'm glad most people on here agree that attacking the children was despicable. But using words such as 'loathe' 'hate' 'disgusting' etc are far too strong.

JRM has some strong beliefs on morality that originate from his catholic beliefs. I do not agree with his ideas on abortion and gay marriage, but I do not loathe him for holding these, same as I disagree with muslims who stay very quiet on their deeply held views. The only difference is that JRM is upfront about these.

That being said I am slightly worried by any intelligent person who is so religious and forms a belief system based on the ancient beliefs of a few middle eastern shepherds. But there we go, just me.

YeTalkShiteHen · 12/09/2018 14:35

Aye I’ve requested my quote of it is deleted along with the original.

hadenough · 12/09/2018 14:42

Saying that to the children was wrong and can't be justified.

JRM is vile, but frankly, he's what England deserves after voting for Brexit. They rejected Europe to be ruled by people like that.

The English have enabled that man and his views, and frankly, they can deal with the consequences, my sympathy levels are at zero.

BarbarianMum · 12/09/2018 14:44

The sad reality is that no child is unaffected by the actions of their parents. There'll be hundreds if children today facing worse consequences, no offended outrage for them.

PawneeParksDept · 12/09/2018 14:46

I am someone who wouldn't vote Tory under any circumstances and doesn't like what JRM stands for in the least

ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING to target young children in this way and tell them "people hate your Daddy"

This man deserves public censure for doing that and what he's done has backfired on him anyway and given JRM public sympathy

Those poor children being hectored at by a random stranger old enough to know better

unlimiteddilutingjuice · 12/09/2018 14:47

I think Class War are way off in characterising Veronica Crook as exploited.
Its well known that the two have a very good relationship and that Ms. Crook cared for JRM as a child before going on to care for his children.
He always used to get a fair bit of ribbing for "taking his nanny canvassing" and so on. But I've always felt its a point in a mans favour if he has good relationship with the women who raised him.
I'm a massive critic of his politics btw

It isn’t a race to the bottom

BarbarianMum · 12/09/2018 14:49

No, but neither is this the case that's going to make me pick up a banner and start marching.

wijjy · 12/09/2018 14:50

I'd be lying if I said I gave a second thought to the family of some poor, bewildered Tory. At least they'll be able to pay for private therapy

A responsible parent would have sent the children back inside and not exploited them in this way

Wow, there are some prime examples of humanity on this thread. What lovely people you are.

Defrack · 12/09/2018 14:55

Disgraceful.

Yes JRM and his party are shit and have done shit things. But there's no need to attack his poor children. Like have some human decency.

If I did something wrong, you wouldn't attack my kids, so why do it to him?

SpringSnow · 12/09/2018 14:55

I think JRM is a legend. A proper English gentleman.

Defrack · 12/09/2018 14:56

Also why should he have taken them back inside?

Yes it would probably of been a good idea, but they should be free to walk where they want without feeling threatened.

Oliversmumsarmy · 12/09/2018 14:56

Well there has been a sustained attack on the children of the poor and disabled, so I suppose it's thought of "why should they live in peace

When has a load of Tory supporters gone to a poor and disabled persons house and harangued their children.

I thought there was a news blackout on filming/photographing children for news etc without the parents permission.

Oliversmumsarmy · 12/09/2018 14:59

I wouldn't be surprised that any news outlet that showed this doesn't have some sanctions against them

propatria · 12/09/2018 15:04

Bone is a despicable man,hes got form on this sort of thing,he usually pays an annual visit to Eton and shouts abuse at the boys.

Mustbebetween · 12/09/2018 15:07

That's so sad those poor kids. He should be ashamed of himself, it's people like him that turn the middle ground away from the left.

JRM should have stood up and had his kids inside though, well he shouldn't have to, but in that situation they should have been removed swiftly.

Oliversmumsarmy · 12/09/2018 15:08

I think that a lot of old Etonians have an annual visit to Eton on there open day.

Actually I have been a few times and the shouting is when people watch the rising

propatria what an utterly stupid post.

Oliversmumsarmy · 12/09/2018 15:09

Rowing not rising

Oliversmumsarmy · 12/09/2018 15:11

Sorry thought you were referring to JRM

He coulve taken his kids inside and it would have been the good thing to do, however tbh why should he have too, he should be able to take his kid out without his kids being verbally abused

GingerBadBoy · 12/09/2018 16:34

GingerBadBoy · 12/09/2018 16:34
