New thread and still wondering why there has been no apology or acknowledgement of the incident in Loose Women last week.

I would in fact say that I have provoked you far less than KW provoked CN. I have not shouted and have not made any personal attacks against you.

birdsdestiny · 07/09/2018 18:36

I don't think LW actually have a policy on enabling bullying, I was being sarcastic. But they set it up knowing something horrible would happen. Both CBB and LW did that.
I don't think it will make the slightest difference to be honest. Jade Goody, Christopher Biggins, lots of people have had their careers stalled by these shows. It was years ago that Jade Goody was involved in the racist bullying, we all saw what happened, didn't stop it happening with CN or RP.

Member, This thread, and its predecessor, is an echo-chamber. I had no particular view on this before reading the thread, but watched the full clip online. I ventured, quite mildly I thought, to correct some exaggerations on the last thread and was pretty much set upon by one poster (in the general vein of the whole thread) and accused of being deliberately upsetting and trying to provoke.
Save your breath.

OhDearGodLookAtThisMess · 07/09/2018 18:39

I strongly suspect, also, that others with a different view to those on here, are choosing not to participate.
Very wise.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 07/09/2018 18:49

I don't know why anyone would feel that they couldn't voice a contrary opinion Mess.

Several people have said that they felt KW wasn't buried - none of them, as far as I am aware, have been abused.

As none of us are mind readers, we can't see into KW's or CN's motives- but the speech, body language and general set up have led me to believe that KW was deliberately set up. I think her response took the others by surprise - I suspect they expected her to really lose her rag, and come across as being "unhinged", and she didn't.

The failure of anyone involved to offer a proper apology has just compounded the disgrace. LW kicked a nest of hornets and have suffered for it.

Magicmonster

Read again, I referred to your making things up to try and prove an argument and said “that’s pathetic”. Which it is.

What’s this “bad blood” stuff? And the “I have not provoked, I have not shouted, no personal attacks” stuff.

That’s quite dramatic for me simply saying your making things up tactic was pathetic.

schoolboyerrors · 07/09/2018 19:06

Just to let you know, the person who sent the DM about me sent it TO me. 🤭

Magicmonster · 07/09/2018 19:08

I wasn’t making things up. I was guessing what would have happened if Kim hadn’t (in my view) come out shouting and name calling. I never purported to change the facts of what actually happened.

Ironically, the ‘dramatic’ nature of our reactions to each other is the precise point im trying to make! You have called me ‘pathetic’ for expressing my view (when I did so without any personal attacks on you). The strength of your reaction makes me wonder how you would react if someone started shouting at and accusing you of things as KW did to CN? Your posts suggest you would just sit there and take all the abuse without reacting in any way. Your posts to me (in my humble opinion) suggest otherwise. But then again, that’s something I’m making up.

SallySideEye · 07/09/2018 19:11

Shock schoolboy Grin-** what did it say?

schoolboyerrors · 07/09/2018 19:16

Magicmonster

I’ll repeat. I said your made up argument was pathetic (a pathetic attempt at trying to win an argument) and your turn of phrase was dramatic.

schoolboyerrors · 07/09/2018 19:19

There is no point trying to “stir me up”, I’m chilled 🙂

OhDearGodLookAtThisMess · 07/09/2018 19:23

Why would you accuse magic of trying to "stir you up?" She's defending her point. Is that not allowed?

schoolboyerrors · 07/09/2018 19:35

Gosh, I didn’t accuse magic of trying to stir me up. 🙂

Togaandsandals · 07/09/2018 19:39

I watched the clip and thought KW was spoiling for a fight. I thought Linda Nolan’s comment about KW having no talent was obnoxious but apart from that it was in my eyes six of one half of dozen of the other.

OhDearGodLookAtThisMess · 07/09/2018 19:43

Kim came out, hooked her bosom and asked Coleen what she had to say for herself.
That could well be interpreted as aggressive.

wolfywolfy · 07/09/2018 19:57

🧐

WillowKnicks · 07/09/2018 20:06

ohDearGod

Exactly!!!

heartsease68 · 07/09/2018 20:07

I think the problem is KW's obvious lack of emotional stability - she is aggressive but clearly unhinged. Colleen is clearly not suffering in that way and had a lot of support. That is not an ethical combination.

Togaandsandals · 07/09/2018 20:11

That’s a fair point @heartsease68. Thanks for that perspective.

derxa · 07/09/2018 20:14

I think it started out as a comedy show but then KW remembered how bad she felt in the BB house and got emotional. I've looked at some of the footage. They really were nasty in there.

OhDearGodLookAtThisMess · 07/09/2018 20:35

The only surprise really is that anyone is surprised at things getting nasty in the B.B. house.
Hasn't anyone read Ben Elton's 'Dead Famous?'

OhDearGodLookAtThisMess · 07/09/2018 20:54

And I of course meant "hoiked" her bosom.
Bloody autocorrect!

Viviennemary · 07/09/2018 21:07

I think how it has been handled is unacceptable. First as host of the show Coleen Nolan should have given a full apology immediately if only for the mere fact Kim Woodburn was very visibly upset. What a difference from the Way CN herself was treated by Schofield and was it Holly. Sympathetic glum faces, tissues at the ready. it's wrong. I wonder if there hasn't been a proper and grovelling aplogy because they are waiting to see what Ofcom has to say. A poor show from ITV all round I'd say.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 07/09/2018 22:08

I haven't got a bosom OhDear. I would love to have enough to hoick.

ifyouwantsomethingdoing · 07/09/2018 22:23

I just watched 4 random CN LW clips. Straw poll I know but 2 of the clips she made sarcastic remarks at someone else’s expense, one she was jokingly harsh to her sister but actually very appealing, and the last one she was a bit crude but people found it funny.

So I can see why some people, her fellow panelists for instance, would like her, class her as a friend, especially if the sarcasm isn’t aimed at them or, like her sister, they are used to her cutting wit (or know people with that kind of hard edge).

I can also see why people would call her rude and harsh.

But the woman handled it, or was advised to handle it, so badly. All she had to do was apologise the next day and say she had watched back the clip and was mortified by her own behaviour and many, maybe even the majority, would have applauded her honesty. Instead she, we’ll we all know what happened, it’s done now.

Sad all round.

What’s this show Kim is rehearsing for? If she is going to be in the public eye again soon she will presumably make another statement soon.
