New thread and still wondering why there has been no apology or acknowledgement of the incident in Loose Women last week.

Totally agree with your post wolfy.

She's experiencing what she inflicted on Kim ("What goes around, comes around", as my Grannies used to say) but sill is so self-involved that she can't see the irony, nor can she, even now, put herself in Kim's shoes.

I think KW is a woman who finds it a lot harder to cry than CN (If this situation had been reversed, and the shitstorm had hit her, she might have got angry about it, be she wouldn't be awash with self-pity). For her to break down was indicative of much greater stress and pain. CN plays the "poor-me" card at the drop of a self-justifying, responsibility-shirking hat. I have no sympathy for her whatsoever.

If she gets away with this, she will do it again, because she has no insight into other people's feelings - and doesn't care if she tramples on them. I hope that some other unpleasant "hosts" (I'm looking at you Schofield) will learn a (self-protecting) lesson from this, too. People have feelings - they are entitled to respect.

What happened to Schofield's partner (the little guy he worked with when he first started out)? Gordon the Gopher waaaay more talented than PS. Grin

ShatnersWig · 05/09/2018 08:11

Gordon entered a clinic for substance abuse years ago and left showbiz. I suspect working with Schofield may have been the cause.

LeftRightCentre · 05/09/2018 08:11

Coleen is just totally vile. They all are. Wish the show would be axed.

schoolday · 05/09/2018 08:20

I feel sure other hosts will look at this and learn from it, even if they would never have made the remarks CN did on the show, they have seen the fallout if they upset the public.

It’s a weird job being in the public eye. You need self control!

Everyoneiswingingit · 05/09/2018 08:35

It's a poor show from ITV.
1-Their idea to get Kim on.
2-They didn't cut to ads or competition when it got out of control.
3-They have left CN to take the blame.
CN behaved badly but the whole panel were involved and they were directed by the producers. Shameful.

MrMakersVan · 05/09/2018 10:57

Ticket sales for the tour are dire. Just looked at the seating maps of half a dozen venues. I wonder whether it’s a slow burner.

Jitters22 · 05/09/2018 11:08

Kim Woodburn is an eccentric. She'll also old school, forthright, feisty, fiery and a fighter when she feels threatened, and I'm sure she's not an easy character to be around. She is also nearly 80 years old - something which I think a lot of people are forgetting.

However, she does not have a sneaky bone in her body. She wears her heart on her sleeve and what you see is what you get - 100% straight down the line.

I think what I dislike about the Nolans (Coleen and Linda who was with her on the day) is that they pretend to be so reasonable, and likeable and fair and so on, when in fact they are both sneaky and manipulative and quite unpleasant characters.

Kim tried to articulate this when she said to the audience 'don't always be taken in by the one who sits there all demure' but of course, in the heat of the moment and with her emotional delivery, plus the fact that she was being talked at from all sides - she didn't get it across very well. But I knew exactly what she meant.

MrMakersVan · 05/09/2018 11:44

And the most common comment on the forums this morning seems to be why did Coleen Nolan say she didn’t say anything, when she clearly did. The This Morning interview seems to have made it worse as some of those who were in support of her are commenting that that was a lie.

Perhaps she or her agent can’t trust her on tv right now, not because of tears but because her first instinct is to lie to cover herself?

The other common comment is where is Linda Nolan in all this? She’s keeping her head well down isn’t she? All the other LW are for that matter.

GloGirl · 05/09/2018 12:21

Any nod to it today on LW?

Just wanted to repeat what was said above as I've been thinking about it and think it is important. Kim was in I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here a couple of years ago. I actually watched that Series and thought she came out of it really well, and in fact so did the public because she came second!

So why the change when she got to the BB house? The I'm A Celeb show is a much more testing and stressful enviroment. Kim made sure she got stuck in, worked hard and with her usual flair.

I dare say all the nastiness, laziness, and in fighting in the BB household took it's toll. The two-facedness of everyone running their games and the isolation she probably felt was probably was the start of a negative turn.

I daresay KW was a horrible contestant to live with in the BB house, by all means she said unpleasant things and acted dreadfully but what the producers actually show on TV might not have been a real reflection of what rights she had to feel bullied in the house, at least at the beginning of the spiral.

Jitters22 · 05/09/2018 12:52

I actually watched that Series and thought she came out of it really well, and in fact so did the public because she came second!

On various news article forums and things around the internet where this topic has been discussed, there are fairly regular posts from people who have worked with her over the years - I don't mean famous people, but I'm guessing 'behind the scenes' type people, and unfailingly they all say what a lovely, kind person she is in real life.

I have not seen many similar posts about CN other than from celebrity friends.

ShatnersWig · 05/09/2018 12:54

@Political Yes, she did do well in I'm A Celeb. But let's not also forget she finished third to CN in Celeb Big Brother (behind Jedward in second and she adored them and thought they should have won). If she was that appalling, why did she finish even third and not get evicted earlier?

You can say what you like about KW but as @Jitters22 says - what you see is what you get. There's no two-facedness and she calls a spade a spade. Personally I prefer people like that as you know where you are with them. Even CN has admitted she was two-faced to KW in the house and the evidence was there to see.

ShatnersWig · 05/09/2018 13:00

@Political In the CBB house she was looked down on by some of the celebs from the outset. James Jordan basically called her "the cleaner". Which is what riled her with Schofield when she was on This Morning and he raised the fact she said a lot of the people in the house were like filthy pigs, leaving mess everywhere, and he said why didn't she clean it up because she's a cleaner. She said "No, I wasn't there as the cleaner, I was there as Kim Woodburn". Quite right, I'd be pissed off if people kept belittling her for having become well known for presenting a cleaning programme but thought of as "just a cleaner". I think that is PRECISELY why Linda Nolan said "what's your talent then?" knowing full well that was a chink in the armour.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 05/09/2018 13:43

I agree ShatnersWig - it's her Achilles' heel because she knows that many showbiz people look down on her because she isn't frightened to get her hands dirty. Well - they might have clean hands but they have bloody dirty hearts!

The more this goes on, the more I warm to her. I didn't have an opinion one way or the other about her prior to this, but she has behaved with remarkable courage, I think, continuing to hold her head high, not sobbing to get public sympathy, and just getting on with things.

ShatnersWig · 05/09/2018 13:55

@Schadenfreude I think KW gave an interview afterwards and has otherwise kept quiet. There was some newspaper doing a "Kim is furious after Coleen's tearful interview" stuff but it was actually "One of Kim's friends - unnamed - said...." (so totally made up then).

Notable fact. For the interview mentioned above, KW gave the money to charity. When CN did the female Full Monty TV show which was supposed to raise cancer awareness she took £10,000 appearance fee. Not sure if my sister had died of cancer I'd be accepting such a fee, I'd be asking ITV to donating it to charity.

heartsease68 · 05/09/2018 13:57

I never watched LW until a month ago, then it kept coming up in my youtube feed.

I have to say, I really like Nadia. She the only one who has really hung onto her humanity and warmth.

MarthasGinYard · 05/09/2018 13:59

So has Coleen actually quit LW

Just saw a flash on bbc news

SchadenfreudePersonified · 05/09/2018 14:03

One down, three to go . . . . . . .

ShatnersWig · 05/09/2018 14:07

@Marthas It's all a bit confused. She was supposed to be there last Friday according to son Shane and she wasn't. The CN Twitter said she'd be there on Monday but she wasn't. Then yesterday her Twitter said she'd be there tomorrow, then last night said she's now going to have some family time as she's so upset and won't be on tomorrow. There had already been comments that she was stepping down while she was focusing on her forthcoming solo tour and while she was touring she wouldn't be able to appear but might make the odd appearance or video link if possible and then maybe come back after the tour.

Make of it all what you will. All convenient without needing to sack her. Or convenient to hope it all dies down and she can come back after the tour. Assuming the latter goes ahead.

MarthasGinYard · 05/09/2018 14:09

Thanks SW

Gotcha

Flying under the radar not an option CN

Justmuddlingalong · 05/09/2018 14:11

I don't think so, @MarthasGinYard.
She still appears to be ignoring the problem and hoping it'll all blow over.
This ⬇️ from her Twitter page.

Janet Street Porter has just written a defence of her friend in the Mail for anyone who wants to read it ....

Justmuddlingalong · 05/09/2018 16:18

I've read it. I think she's pissing against the wind, trying to defend the indefensible. The show is out there for everyone to see. A piss poor attempt at damage limitation, a full week after the event. The wiff of bullshit is covered only by the stench of hypocrisy.

wolfywolfy · 05/09/2018 16:48

That JSP article is absolute toss. What is wrong with these people ?
They literally can't see what they have done wrong

DaphneDiligaf · 05/09/2018 17:08

JSP says Coleen hardly said a word - unfortunately the few words she did say were cruel and bitchy. She also seems to have forgotten big sister Linda was there too.

wolfywolfy · 05/09/2018 17:10

JSP has just made herself look as stupid as CN in my opinion
