Totally agree with your post wolfy.
She's experiencing what she inflicted on Kim ("What goes around, comes around", as my Grannies used to say) but sill is so self-involved that she can't see the irony, nor can she, even now, put herself in Kim's shoes.
I think KW is a woman who finds it a lot harder to cry than CN (If this situation had been reversed, and the shitstorm had hit her, she might have got angry about it, be she wouldn't be awash with self-pity). For her to break down was indicative of much greater stress and pain. CN plays the "poor-me" card at the drop of a self-justifying, responsibility-shirking hat. I have no sympathy for her whatsoever.
If she gets away with this, she will do it again, because she has no insight into other people's feelings - and doesn't care if she tramples on them. I hope that some other unpleasant "hosts" (I'm looking at you Schofield) will learn a (self-protecting) lesson from this, too. People have feelings - they are entitled to respect.
What happened to Schofield's partner (the little guy he worked with when he first started out)? Gordon the Gopher waaaay more talented than PS.
