New thread and still wondering why there has been no apology or acknowledgement of the incident in Loose Women last week.

Yes, I saw it as self pity tears, not as remorse at all. After all, she said herself she didn’t do anything so why be remorseful? 🙄

PrickWhittington · 04/09/2018 20:24

Has anyone else noticed how many who come on here in defence of CN and her little gang uses very similar tactics as them themselves. Invalidating the responses of others and sort of dismissing them, and counter claims of bullying.

Most don't want to debate it, just patronise and talk down to you to tell you you're perception is wrong, Theirs is right. End of.

Irritating.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 04/09/2018 20:58

It hadn't gone unnoticed PrickWhittington. I suspect a CN PR team, drafted in at short notice to save the day.

A bit like the "A" team, but without the charm, intelligence or skill. Or heavy gold jewellery. And thank heavens they don't have the guns . . .

DunkandEggAgain · 04/09/2018 21:15

Peanutbuttercups21 Off tangent here, but please don't ever compare the fall out from this incident, to public lynchings.

Please. This cannot compare to the horrors of innocent (usually black) people beaten - and worse- tied and hung from a tree by a baying jeering evil crowd. It dimishishes their murder to nothing more than trivial. Im thinking you probably didn't mean it that way, but this statement hit out at me because it's a sensitive topic that's close to my heart.

Nannyplumshairstyle · 04/09/2018 21:21

I am interested in this as I have been the victim of bullying in the work place before and it is crippling.
I have always thought that CN was quite Daily Mailish in her responses to the topics they cover on LW so I wasn't at all surprised by her reaction to KW as it was in line with how she is usually I.e. Very black and white about everything regardless of how nuanced it is.

Peanutbuttercups21 · 04/09/2018 21:21

Thanks for pointing that out, my ignorance!

CoolCarrie · 04/09/2018 21:22

It was terrible behaviour from the Nolan sisters. What was Linda Nolandoing there? To back up her sister two on the one person, bloody awful.

AynRandTheObjectivist · 04/09/2018 21:23

That's showbiz.

CoolCarrie · 04/09/2018 21:25

It was interesting to me to notice that neither Kaye Adams or Jane Moore were on the panel that day, they are the only real journalists on the show, and JSP should be ashamed of her involvement. The other three are idiots, but I thought she had some decency, although she is a pain in the arse at times, talking over people and interrupting.

keyboardkate · 04/09/2018 21:31

Meanwhile, what about World Peace, Trump, the Typhoon in Japan, child abuse, Brexit (whispered that) cost of living etc. lol.

This is junk for the masses to take their minds off REAL life, and the producers know it will be lapped up. The more controversy the better! Fine.

All staged I would say but I am a cynic. And these people have no part in my life either. Let them at it.

Someone will have a flounce, tick.

Someone will cry, tick.

Lots of publicity and a few books or something to come. You have been warned!

DunkandEggAgain · 04/09/2018 21:34

Thank you Peanutbuttercups21 for not getting funny. From what I've witness written on MN lately, some posters could take a leaf out of your book when their (honest) mistake had been pointed out to them! Flowers

PrickWhittington · 04/09/2018 21:52

Meanwhile, what about World Peace, Trump, the Typhoon in Japan, child abuse, Brexit (whispered that) cost of living etc. lol

Lol?

That is another really patronising post, I don't know if you meant it that way but that is how it reads.

The truth is - I can do fuck all to save the world sadly, the same as others.

What I can do, however, is post my take on this, as someone who has also been affected by abuse, and bullied in the manner that I think KW was in that episode.

This IS related to child abuse, and how it affects people. Did you miss that? And I don't want to discuss Trump thank you, there's another thread about him that I'd go on if I did. That said, we HAVE been talking about the issue of tolerance, it all links up to the bigger picture in the end.

There have been some really wise and interesting posts on here, and if I want to read and contribute I will. If that's ok with you of course? Hmm

heartsease68 · 04/09/2018 22:01

I thought she had some decency

Why?? She writes emotionally inarticulate right wing tripe for the Daily Mail and cheats on every husband without fail.

PrickWhittington · 04/09/2018 23:07

Why?? She writes emotionally inarticulate right wing tripe for the Daily Mail and cheats on every husband without fail.

Ah, another member of the CN fan club? Grin

But quite. Even if people think she acted fine on this occasion, let not's forget she's made some really offensive comments in the past. Comparing homosexuality to ISIS, opposing the rights of gay people adopting with the breathtakingly ignorant and arrogant 'there's only so much I'm prepared to accept' comment.

As well as the comments suggesting MH problems are due to drug taking after her colleague Denise Welsh was brave enough to tell the story of her battle with depression?

And then there's her confessions of taping her son having sex., and paying for him to have sex in Amsterdam. At 16 ifs. Yuck. Oh yes, and that she wouldn't have minded if her EXH cheated with someone who was 'only a prostitute'.

Each to their own, but someone with those sort of intolerant and quite frankly, ignorant, views is not someone I would want to be around in RL. Nor someone who's opinions I want to hear on the LW, or anywhere else.

schoolday · 04/09/2018 23:50

Bit odd really, the Sun had this story a few hours ago and CN’s “twitter team” denied it (by tweeting ‘Not true’ at the Sun) but have now changed their minds...

Pinned Tweet
Coleen Nolan
Just to let everyone know - Coleen won’t be on loose women on Thursday she’s decided to go home & spend time with her family instead-she didnt expect to cry on this morning And she’s still very upset about everything thats happened &thanks you for your kind messages & support x

schoolday · 04/09/2018 23:53

In fact they tweeted “Not true TheSun she’s back on loose women 2mro” and then said “we mean Thursday” and now saying not at all.

Looks like she was pushed.

DearMrDilkington · 04/09/2018 23:59

I wonder how long CN will be "taking time off" loose women for...

I think the tears earlier were genuine because she knows she's in the shit. Very stupid to try and blame it on the production team, that would have been the last straw.

schoolday · 05/09/2018 00:03

And then after the no show announcement came this tweet

mobile.twitter.com/NolanColeen/status/1037103165794136067

which has no context, v odd!

The “twitter team” are a bit shit really!

Hmm. To make it look like it's her choice not to be on LW on Thurs? It reads like she's trying to answer a question from someone. . And the kisses to denote that she is (of course) on very good terms with them all?

It's annoying though how she still can't see what she did that was so wrong. And a lot of quotes from her in the Sun article are just complete lies, 'I only said about 2 things to her'. 'I didn't insult her'.

Ultimately, she was the host, it ISN'T her place to decide what guests they have on (although I don't agree they should have had KW there).

But it is her job, and a very well paid and privileged one too, to stay professional.

There are people who work in healthcare for sod all pay and little reward who manage not to call even their most difficult and insulting patients 'self centred vile witches' whist wagging their fingers at them, even if provoked. Or rolling their eyes and making sarcastic comments at them when they bring up abuse they have suffered. It's part of their job to remain polite at all times, and it was part of hers too.

She''s lucky she got the last ten or so years there as well, if she had made the comments she did years ago about gay people/ isis / adoption in the present time, with social media as popular as it is now ,there would have been uproar.

I think if I was her, I'be considering changing my PR team to the same ones as CBB's Roxanne Pallete! They handled that scenario way better than her team did her's.

schoolday · 05/09/2018 07:42

PrickWhittington

Hmm. To make it look like it's her choice not to be on LW on Thurs? It reads like she's trying to answer a question from someone.

That’s exactly what I thought. But why would three people, two of which are companies, all ask the same question in ten minutes, in the middle of the night, after her “no show” tweet?

Perhaps she knows The thismorning and loosewomen webteams really well /sarcasm. And actually it doesn’t matter what it is, it matters what it looks like, and it looks like a 4th former having a moment🙄.

I must say, this whole debacle is s madterclass in (how not to do) PR.

wolfywolfy · 05/09/2018 07:43

That latest tweet makes me laugh..
'She didn't expect to cry on live tv'
What, like you made Kim cry ?
Unbelievable...how CN is 'apparently' feeling now....love that's how you made Kim feel. Not nice is it ?

Teenageromance · 05/09/2018 07:50

Has anyone seen a single celebrity come to her defence - apart from the lightweight Holly and Phil interview (where to be fair they didn’t defend her but let her have sympathetic air time)? I think that speaks volumes

SchadenfreudePersonified · 05/09/2018 07:55

It's annoying though how she still can't see what she did that was so wrong.

I think she can see it, but she'll choke on her own bile before she'll admit it!

She's denied and blamed too long to backtrack now - plus, I think she's someone who's always demanded (and got) her own way, and this has really taken her by surprised. She probably thought she could have a little public weep and "charm" her way back into the public hearts.

Unfortunately for her, Irish name or not, even if she ATE the Blarney stone she wouldn't be able to flannel her way out of this now. The only thing that I think has been wrong about the public response is that the other perpetrators - especially LN - seem to be getting off scott-free. They enabled this charade, and are now keeping their heads well below the parapet. Not one of them has even publicly come out to say that they are sorry either, as far as I am aware.

What a shower of $@%£ they are.

wolfywolfy · 05/09/2018 08:05

I think there should be an apology from all who were doing the interview with Kim that day. They acted as badly,
