New thread and still wondering why there has been no apology or acknowledgement of the incident in Loose Women last week.

My mum was right. She would never let us watch ITV, she said it was trash. I'll give you that one Mum.

HolyMountain · 03/09/2018 15:30

Who the hell is going to pay to see Coleen Nolan sing?Shock

Everyoneiswingingit · 03/09/2018 15:45

What would she sing? £35 to watch a karaoke basically.

schoolday · 03/09/2018 15:51

Her son said she would be on LW last Friday. She wasn’t. Speaks volumes. Her doing her promo from Manchester instead of in the studio doing her big reveal as planned. Speaks volumes. The countdown being ignored and them releasing the details last night before the LW show and even before the countdown ended. Speaks volumes. (It was like a case if “oh god, let’s just get it over with...)

So there is stuff going on behind the scenes, they are just ignoring the public.

Stupid move. It should have been put to bed by now but they are making it worse by ignoring it.

I read the comments in the Sun on the article about CN’s tour. Every one I read (first 20 or so) called her a bully and/or were rude about her tour. After ten minutes or so of their article going live, the Mirror (the paper she writes for) turned comments off and deleted the ones there which were similar.

Some mentioned the lack of apology.

I cannot understand why they will not apologise.

Tildero · 03/09/2018 16:01

I cringe to think how bad her solo tour is going to be!

lightonthewater · 03/09/2018 16:05

When the programme first started with Kaye Adams and Nadia, it was a great watch, informed, intelligent and thought provoking. The whole tone has changed completely .. it's gone completely down market and is just embarrassing. Now it seems that women bullying other women and shouting matches is the order of the day.

schoolday · 03/09/2018 16:17

CN’s Wiki page seems to be under constant attack at the moment. The newbie person from last night has had their work cut out keeping up. I read the edits, some of the “vandalism” made me laugh, some of it is atrocious, really really bad.

Presumably, looking by the edits, the fact no one changed the first “vandalism” paragraph until the following day, and the wiki person trying to keep up being new, they never had to keep on top of it before. Another job created because of CN’s actions making her a target.

schoolday · 03/09/2018 16:38

redshoeblueshoe
sorry its BACP. British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy - there is a thread on FWR, saying northern women are aggressive. I think that was the LW team sticking two fingers up to the viewers, and anyone who doesn't think CN is a fucking superstar

What did they say about it please? I presume they didn’t mention Mumsnet but why did they say it at all and did they say the big about northern women being aggressive?

redshoeblueshoe · 03/09/2018 16:47

They didn't mention MN, but there is a thread, and one of them was reading the bit about northern women being aggressive.

I think the implication was that CN is a northern woman, deal with it.

Although according to the thread I think BACP have actually removed the bit about northern women.

timetodothis · 03/09/2018 16:49

I can't believe they had the nerve to be bitching about Roxanne and what she's done while pretending their own shit storm never happened.

It's glaringly obvious that they're trying to draw similarities between Roxanne and KW's behavior in the BB house.

They think we're stupid or something.

Not only have they not apologized for the appalling treatment of KW on the Loose Women show , they are also misjudging and insulting the intelligence of the public.

Not good LW.

HelenaDove · 03/09/2018 17:00

ITV and hypocrisy seem to be becoming regular bedfellows. Im sure y"all have heard about the fact that Tess Holliday graces the cover of this months Cosmopolitan magazine.

Well this morning they had Tina Malone on GMB judging her TINA MALONE. And im NOT saying this because Tina used to be bigger.

HelenaDove Mon 03-Sep-18 16:45:58

Hang on They had Tina Malone on to judge Tess Holliday.

Seriously?

"Actress Tina Malone has been left jobless after being sacked from panto for having cocaine.

In a scene that could have come straight from her TV hit Shameless, Tina was arrested by police as she left the theatre.

They had been tipped off by shocked theatre staff after she was heard asking for “her little bag of snow” before going on stage.

Suspicious parents at the Sleeping Beauty pantomime also reportedly saw her with a white substance under her nose.

Tina, 54, whose co-stars included children, later admitted having the class A drug after being arrested last night. She was given a police caution"

The actress was promptly sacked from her role as wicked fairy godmother Carabosse at the Cloud Nine theatre in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria – although production bosses insisted it was a mutual decision for her to leave.

A show source told the Sunday People: “Tina had been asking people earlier in the evening if they had seen her ‘little bag of snow’.

“She seemed concerned that it had gone missing.

“One of the parents at the panto noticed a white substance under her nose and asked what it was.

"She just winked and said ‘It’s showbiz snow’.

Liverpudlian Tina, best known for her role as foul-mouthed Mimi Maguire in Channel 4’s Shameless, was pictured only hours before her arrest eating a takeaway burger in between shows.

Her four-year-old daughter Flame and husband Paul Chase, who is 19 years her junior, were in the theatre when police swooped.

She reportedly asked police not to handcuff her as she was led away while members of the audience were leaving.

Our source said: “As she came off stage, she heard a rumour police had been tipped off she was using cocaine

She tried to get a taxi, but police stopped her in time and took her inside the venue to search her. She begged the police not to handcuff her, and seemed very worried.”

A Cumbria police spokesman said: “Police were called at 8:21pm on Friday to the report of a female being in possession of an illegal substance.

“A 54-year-old woman from Merseyside was arrested on suspicion of being in possession of a class A drug.

“The woman was detained whilst she helped police with their enquiries. She was later cautioned for the offence.”

After Tina’s shock departure, production bosses drafted in a male stand-in, Alan French, for the final shows.

A spokesman for Joe Purdy Productions said: “We and the artist involved have made a mutual decision to terminate contract with immediate effect as soon as we were made aware of the situation.

"The cast and crew were deeply shocked and saddened but in true panto spirit, the show must go on.”

But our source claimed the rest of the cast were pleased to see the back of “diva” Tina, who has also appeared in Victoria Wood’s sitcom Dinnerladies and C4 soap Brookside.

The source said: “She was moody and always swearing, even at the kids.”

Another show insider said: “We had to move Tina from her original accommodation in a refurbished block of flats to one of the most expensive hotels in the area as she complained constantly.

“She didn’t know the songs for the first show and one of the dancers had to sing it and she lost it with the kid and reduced her to tears. Tina didn’t really mix with the rest of the cast.”

Tina was unavailable for comment despite repeated requests"

So they got someone who has done Class A drugs around kids to sit in judgement over a plus size model.

I didnt realize cocaine was healthy!!

But its ok to set shitty examples ...................as long as you are slim.

The double standards here are sickening. I find this kind of hypocrisy far more damaging than the Cosmo cover!

schoolday · 03/09/2018 17:55

redshoeblueshoe thank you. Found the thread.

How pathetic of them to grab hold of that to try and excuse behaviour yet belittle abuse.

redshoeblueshoe · 03/09/2018 18:07

thanks schoolday, I wasn't actually sure my post made any sense Grin

Helena - I thought it was also a bit rich that on Lorraine they slagged off Roxanne Pallett, but kept quiet about CN, oh and Lorraine also slagged off the Beckhams. Maybe Lorraine is giving up the sickly sweet image, and following new ITV guidelines be a bitch once a day

HelenaDove · 03/09/2018 18:12

Much like a PP said upthread when ITV first started in the 1960s some people wouldnt watch it branding it lowbrow.

50+ years later i can imagine some of them shouting down from the heavens "See I told you so"

Everyoneiswingingit · 03/09/2018 18:14

They also made no mention of it on the Wright Stuff despite having Roxanne on there. maybe because fellow Loose woman, Anne Diamond was on. It's a HUGE elephant in the TV world room. Shame on all of these so called journalists for not even acknowledging it.

Everyoneiswingingit · 03/09/2018 18:15

Yes Helena my mum! I can hear her! Grin

wolfywolfy · 03/09/2018 20:23

I've been watching some old Kim Woodburn interviews and honestly think she is baited by everyone cause they know she will stick up for herself.
The Philip schofield one for example...he was being deliberately 'goady ' and all Kim is doing is replying with her opinion and she's a strong character.
There's one where she says why are you being like this can you not be neutral like holly wilohby...
I really like Kim , always have and I do believe she's a lovely women who is kind...she just hates fakery and 2 faced ness and will stand up for what she thinks it's right...
I have been in a similar situation with an ex who emotionally abused me.
He would goad me to the point I snapped and then I would look like the crazy one. I think this is what's happened to poor old Kim.

wolfywolfy · 03/09/2018 20:25

I did laugh hard with the Phil interview where she tells him he is being naughty

schoolday · 03/09/2018 20:35

I’ve been reading the big brother stuff. The woman who has come out (sorry don't watch much tv so don't know her name) has had fellow actors from Emmerdale criticising her. Let’s face it, you don’t do that to your mates. She wasn’t liked by the people who knew her the best at work.

So it occurred to me they know full well what these people are like. They knew Coleen was going to act like a mean girl and wreck her image, she’s done it before, they knew Kim would get riled. They knew how the others would act. They’re like puppets, including JSP who I used to have respect for.

wolfywolfy · 03/09/2018 20:38

I almost feel like Kim Woodburn is a scapegoat and people want her out of the business...I mean when you look at it this way you have 'celebs' like the tower cast, love island etc....
It's almost like they are trying to push her out as she doesn't quite fit in with this much but neither does she fit in much with the likes of Stephan fry etc..
I could be waffling but she is def a scapegoat

schoolday · 03/09/2018 20:39

Sorry, “they” in my second paragraph is the BB and LW etc crew.

schoolday · 03/09/2018 20:42

wolfywolfy She’s no threat to them though. Unlike some, Nolans definitely included, who think they are more than they are.

schoolday · 03/09/2018 20:45

Oh gosh, unless you mean she tells itblikd it is, doesn’t play the game, so is s threat to them in that way wolfy Shock

wolfywolfy · 03/09/2018 20:58

Thing is with people saying they think Kim has mental health issues...
I actually don't think she does. Emotional scarring yes .
But think about it it's only till recently mental health has become more open and talked about..however things like personality disorders and such aren't widely as excepted and people don't understand them.
But to make themselves feel better they are saying it's because Kim has mental health issues....now why is it IF she has mental health issues do people like to push her buttons and upset her ?
In light of all the openness of mental health it's appalling but hey someone is a bit outspoken and honest which to be honest is very rare these days...we will just say she's mentally ill cause then it makes us look better and 'normal' when her reactions are 'crazy'

Sorry everyone for what a jumble my writing is...

knittedwoollenmouse · 03/09/2018 21:38

The parameters of what is accepted as ‘normal’ are very narrow. Anything outside of that is ridiculed and rejected.

Back in the day, women like Kim were regarded as normal and acceptable. Bossy, matron types who took no crap, but were kind at heart. Now, everyone seems to like to portray themselves as being fragile and precious whilst being rather vicious under the table. Not everyone, obviously, but in tv land this seems to be the case.
