New thread and still wondering why there has been no apology or acknowledgement of the incident in Loose Women last week.

I’ve got to say I hate the image these women portray of middle age. All the boozing, and leching, and chasing lost youth. It just seems so desperate.

We wouldn’t tolerate it from a panel of men, so why is it ok for a bunch of randy old women?

redshoeblueshoe · 03/09/2018 12:54

Myimaginary I said that to my DH, if it was a group of men talking about women like that it would have been pulled years ago, and rightly so.

DeloresJaneUmbridge · 03/09/2018 12:56

Coleen is a talentless has been ...time to retire her from that show which is quite frankly the only thing she is doing at the moment.

She behaved like she was in a slanging match with a neighbour at home not like a television presenter. The fact she can’t see that says a great deal.

As far as the interview goes neither she nor KW were professional but as a presenter CN should have been the bigger person. She wasn’t and not only that she had family there to score points. Unprofessional to the core.

expatinspain · 03/09/2018 13:07

The way things were set up on Loose Women made for very uncomfortable viewing and it did seem like ganging up, because there was no one on Kim's side. Coleen Nolan is an idiot, that's no secret. However, I don't understand the misplaced out-and-out sympathy for Kim on here, as if she is some forever wronged person.

She falls out with people, that's what she does. She was particularly awful to a homeless woman on another show. She fell out with Aggie. She was
vile in BB to people and then quick to play the victim. Being the age she is and having had a bad life do not excuse her being a nasty person. Even so, it doesn't excuse the pile on that awaited her on Loose Women. Trash TV.

GloGirl · 03/09/2018 13:09

No comment from LW today either? Shock

ShatnersWig · 03/09/2018 13:19

Absolutely astonishing today, giving CN lots of air time to promote her forthcoming solo tour - really? - and talking about what RP did, which let's face it, was abusive bullying behaviour and STILL ignoring the elephant in their own room.

Obviously I'm not comparing CN to an elephant....

PiggeryPorcombe · 03/09/2018 13:31

Not sure if it’s been pointed out before but the Judge Janet thing is a regular-ish slot. They’ve not done that just for this interview.

I’m not defending it at all as it clearly wasn’t appropriate here but generally the topics she’s “judging” are reasonably lighthearted.

schoolday · 03/09/2018 13:43

What’s bcap?

ChipsNotDaddy · 03/09/2018 13:48

Kim's behaviour towards Coleen and the other housemates was absolutely DISGUSTING on that series of CBB.

She bullied each and every one of them, especially the younger ones.

That said, I really don't know why they invited her on to the show, their behaviour was incredibly unprofessional and cruel.

The audience were encouraged to boo Kim like she was a pantomime villain.

It's all very wrong, however maybe she now knows how it feels.

MyBloodyMaltesersAreMelting · 03/09/2018 13:48

you beat me to it schoolday I don't know either

heartsease68 · 03/09/2018 13:57

The Nolan sisters acted just like most normal people would.

I shudder to think this is how you think 'normal' people act.

NancyDonahue · 03/09/2018 14:10

I was at least expecting some sort of wimpy damage limitation statement/non-apology today.

'In hindsight, we realise that the 'Judge Janet' segment with Coleen and Kim was misjudged. It was never our intention for the discussion to become so heated and personal, and we apologise if anyone was offended'

I'm gobsmacked that they said nothing Shock

NancyDonahue · 03/09/2018 14:11

And LW, if you're reading this, don't pilfer my non-apology. Write your own!

Grammy78 · 03/09/2018 14:18

CN is on This Morning tomorrow with Philip and Holly, who have also had a tv disagreement with CW. I wonder if they'll talk about it?

SinisterBumFacedCat · 03/09/2018 14:24

Their refusal to apologise or even acknowledge the incident is just another form of bullying.

ShatnersWig · 03/09/2018 14:25

That'll be the Philip who also had a run in with KW after CBB? The same one who basically also belittled Kim by suggesting that rather than moan about the housemates being messy on the programme and having a go at them for it, why didn't she just clean it up herself, seeing as she is a cleaner?

That's what caused their row on This Morning. As KW rightly pointed out, she was there as KW, not as the cleaner. James Jordan was similarly disparaging about KW as "just a cleaner" and Linda Nolan threw the "what's your talent?" at KW because she knows that will light the touchpaper.

And you know what? Why shouldn't KW bite back if someone is disparaging her?

redshoeblueshoe · 03/09/2018 14:27

schoolday, sorry its BACP. British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy - there is a thread on FWR, saying northern women are aggressive. I think that was the LW team sticking two fingers up to the viewers, and anyone who doesn't think CN is a fucking superstar

explodingid · 03/09/2018 14:34

[grin]@nancy. I am amazed too. They obviously think Phil Scofield is the man to make Coleen look halfway decent in what is a bloody shambles.

As I said before why are they trying to draw more attention to this story than is really necessary. I quick apology would have nipped this in the bud.

Justmuddlingalong · 03/09/2018 14:44

To be fair, he's used to working with high profile, talented celebrities.

Everyoneiswingingit · 03/09/2018 15:03

CN is a northern woman too. She was brought up in Blackpool and lives in Cheshire I think.
Didn't watch LW as I'm no longer a viewer but I see that CN didn't go on today or Friday as she was due to. if they discussed Roxanne Pallett and didn't mention their own debacle, it beggars belief.
I did see Lorraine this morning and that had a gossip slot with male presenter and they bitched about the Beckhams and the Pallett story and completely bypassed LW. It is weird .I can only think it's because of the OFCOM complaints.

LadyRochfordsHoickedGusset · 03/09/2018 15:15

So no mention today either? Honestly as a PP said the blanket silence has just put me off the lot of them. Sheep.

Everyoneiswingingit · 03/09/2018 15:21

It really has surprised me. I thought better of the like of Jane Moore for example. They basically host a gossip show. It's not high brow obviously but they seem to be claiming the moral high ground in their minds, by staying quiet but it just reeks of arrogance and a lack of emotional intelligence. Mistakes happen an often it's the way they are dealt with that matters.

Everyoneiswingingit · 03/09/2018 15:23

Back to work this week so will be delivered back to the real world, away from trash TV thank god!

redshoeblueshoe · 03/09/2018 15:24

But she is supposed to be on This Morning tomorrow, and they let her plug her tour today.

ITV's ignoring this - shame on them.
