New thread and still wondering why there has been no apology or acknowledgement of the incident in Loose Women last week.

Has JSP's PR made any comment? I'd have thought out of them all she had the most integrity.

NancyDonahue · 03/09/2018 08:25

It's confirmed on CN Twitter that she is on Loose Women today. There's no way they can ignore this. There has to be an apology.

knittedwoollenmouse · 03/09/2018 08:25

JSP in that judges gown was so embarrassing. The whole idea was awful.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 03/09/2018 08:25

For reasons I cannot fathom, I did watch KW and CN on CBB. They are both horrible bullies, they just have different approaches. CN is more underhand, KW is downright abusive. You wouldn’t want to be the wrong end of either of them.

I think the sympathy here is misplaced - a few clips on YouTube don’t show just how vile KW was on that programme. She wasn’t bullied but neither did she succeed in dominating the house and that was the source of her frustration.

Whatever the dynamics I do think the panel’s behaviour was completely unprofessional and it’s time to give this awful gaggle their marching orders.

FanciedAChangeToday · 03/09/2018 08:46

If there is an apology it will have the audience embarrassingly clapping and a few cheers for the "brave, picked on" CN who would NEVER in a million years bully an oap

TheOxymoron · 03/09/2018 08:51

I see something different to others.
I see the production team at fault for “the lure” in the name of entertainment but Kim is the one throwing insults.
Mental health does not provide a person with a shield to act vile and abusive.
There is clearly some anger issues relating to her past that she needs to seek help for and address.

longwayoff · 03/09/2018 09:09

This was, I imagine, envisaged as an opportunity for CN to show the audience what a beast KW is, to suffer a bit on tv and be consoled by her delightful colleagues and to grab sympathetic attention prior to trying to flog her tour. Perhaps her off screen team feel much the same about her as the rest of us do? That could have gone to an ad and saved CN. But it didnt.

Magicmonster · 03/09/2018 09:15

‘Oxymoron’ - I agree. I think the production team are much more to blame than Colleen, who whilst she didn’t cover herself in glory, reacted in a way that I imagine many people would act when faced with someone being so aggressive at them (and many others would react much much worse!). Maybe Kim’s mental health issues are such that she is less to blame than she would at first appear. However I am sure it would have been clear backstage how it was likely to go, and they still had her on. Definitely the production team more at fault.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 03/09/2018 09:20

"It doesnt get tougher than this. An evening with Greg Wallace"

Longway - you owe me a new keyboard!

SchadenfreudePersonified · 03/09/2018 09:24

Going solo?

That's the big news?

Magicmonster · 03/09/2018 09:25

Sorry I forgot- someone yesterday asked me if I didn’t think Colleen was complicit? I am not sure she organised or suggested the whole thing if that’s what you mean. I also think she may genuinely have hoped to bury the hatchet. She was probably a little more smug that she was ‘in the right’ than she should have been, with a couple of unnecessary comments, but for me it’s not the crime of the century.

It was unpleasant viewing but not because of colleen’s reaction so much as the fact that LW had alllwed Kim on at all.

If this is an example of awful awful bullying on CN’s part, I honestly believe that most of us are guilty of bullying ourselves at some point in the past (at least half of AIBU posts would be bullying for a start!)

Thinkingofausername1 · 03/09/2018 09:27

That is awful. They deliberately invited her on to upset her and who is that main presenter she was very unprofessional and I won't be watching again.

PiggeryPorcombe · 03/09/2018 09:30

I never used to have any particular opinion about Coleen but then I saw on LW ages ago her son saying that she’d framed every cover of every magazine she’d ever appeared on and had them all on the wall in her downstairs loo ShockConfused

knittedwoollenmouse · 03/09/2018 09:32

The Nolan’s snidey, underhand, wind up tactics are classic bullying behaviour a lot of us are sadly familiar with from school and even the workplace.

KW is loud, bolshy and reactive - certainly good entertainment for the lowbrow types who like that sort of thing. I didn’t see her bullying anybody in the BB house or on I’m a celebrity. She appeared exasperated and angry. None of the other contestants appeared to be in the least bit bothered by her rants. They just looked a bit bemused and the odd one objected to being called out on their manipulative behaviour.

The nasty toxic, drip, drip, drip of the Nolans behaviour was bullying.

Spartak · 03/09/2018 10:03

I just had a look online at the tickets for my closest venue. £35 for a seat in the local leisure centre. They are having a laugh. I only paid a bit more than that for Ed Sheeran at a proper venue.

schoolday · 03/09/2018 11:49

There is more than one thing in play here.

Kim and Coleen have a history. Not everyone, maybe not the majority, of people who saw the LW programme know much about that. So they are coming to it cold.

They see Coleen not giving damn that someone is crying.

Coleen was in her own territory, her show, to make a guest cry and still snipe at her is awful, on her own show it’s unforgivable.

It doesn’t matter that there is history, the public haven’t seen it or have forgotten it or didn’t believe it in the first place.

Coleen has seen everything from her own perspective, not the viewers. That’s not a professional way to act when you are on tv!

You get these people who want to be “real” and “not fake” and “tell it like it is”. It NEVER works on a soundbite. It never works when someone has LW in in the background and suddenly sees the row without any context.

Coleen should know that in her job, she doesn’t. If she does, she didn’t care. Perhaps she was so arrogant she thought she’d get away with it, and in the comfort of her studio she did. Or perhaps she couldn’t help herself because she was still angry. That’s not good and has no place on tv and she’s paying the price now.

IhatetheArchers · 03/09/2018 12:05

£35 to see a former backing singer?

Grammy78 · 03/09/2018 12:19

Interesting to see that Denise Welch is back on the show and CN is being filmed from somewhere else making her shit announcement. They had a big row didn't they and are no longer on speaking terms? I wonder if CN will announce she's taking a break?

Justmuddlingalong · 03/09/2018 12:22

I see LW are discussing the Roxanne Palette CBB "furore" today. That's bloody rich. If the KW hoo-ha had happened on another show, they'd have been all over it. And yet, nothing. In other news...CN will be promoting her tour. Good luck with that, Col. 🤔

redshoeblueshoe · 03/09/2018 12:38

Yes justmuddling, Lorraine was very critical of RP, but no mention of CN, and now they are discussing RP on LW, but I don't know if they have mentioned CN.

BiggerBoat1 · 03/09/2018 12:43

If they continue to ignore how hated CN is, it makes them all complicit in my eyes. They should have the courage to talk about what happened and distance themselves from the Nolans.

I can't believe they had the nerve to be bitching about Roxanne and what she's done while pretending their own shit storm never happened.

Grammy78 · 03/09/2018 12:46

Still think she'll say that she's too busy preparing for her tour to appeal on LW and will say it's always been planned.

lightonthewater · 03/09/2018 12:47

Does no one think that actually the people to blame are the PROGRAMME MAKERS who set this disgraceful debacle up? Coleen behaved badly, but it is the producers who want this awful scenario, who invited Kim on, who encouraged Janet to dress up as a judge. Beyond disgusting.

redshoeblueshoe · 03/09/2018 12:49

Well clearly they have been reading MN as there is a whole thread on the BCAP thing

redshoeblueshoe · 03/09/2018 12:50

No fucking apology then

ITV should be ashamed of themselves
