Has anyone else just watched Loose Women/Kim Woodburn’s outburst?

Whispering that they’d “heard it all before” andshe’s going to cry now” was disgusting.

The woman was sexually abused.

If the Nolans stay on air they better never ever mention sexually abuse or mental illness in any context ever again, or be spokespersons for any charity dealing with such.

They have lost all credibility as women who support women or who support those who have been abused.

Life will be hard for them from now on. If they stay on air any tiniest bit of perceived bullying will be pounced on by the audience. And let’s face it, they are hard, coarse and angry women, they won’t be able to stop themselves.

Windbeneathmybingowings · 31/08/2018 22:14

They don’t give two shits about sexual abuse, half of them have disowned Anne Nolan.

MaluCachu · 31/08/2018 22:14

I completely understand why KW behaved the way she did.She is not mentally ill,she is mentally scarred. Her parents did this to her.She is struggling to understand why the very people who brought her into this world treated her so appallingly from the outset. That struggle is hollow to many because to them it becomes a ‘whinge’.Ohhh, here she goes again thing.Does anyone actually sit and listen properly to each other anymore?Get to know someone? Not the likes of LW.They just want the raw marrow and tears for footage without the aftermath.

There’s 60 tweets an hour just about “Kim Wood burn loose women”, the majority by far in her favour.

Even more mentioning Nolans and bullying.

It seems to be gathering momentum, not dying down.

canofdietcoke · 31/08/2018 22:19

“If programmes like Loose Women are to have any credence when they host well-meaning items on mental health and bullying, they should look at their own decisions first.

Halting the row might have been less fun, and less drama, and got fewer retweets, but it would have set an example that it’s never OK to abuse someone for entertainment.”

I don't watch LW but I've just caught the incident on you tube. It made very uncomfortable viewing. Strangely I think the person I was the most disappointed in was JSP. I think I just expected better of her.

lightonthewater · 31/08/2018 22:20

I didn't see this but can imagine the scene. I stopped watching LW years ago. It used to be an intelligent, thought provoking programme when it started, but now it's a load of bitchy women gossiping. Janet SP is the only woman on the panel worth listening to, I don't know why she stoops to their level.
Kim is a no nonsense, tell it like it is sort of woman. She had an appalling childhood and she's damaged. I cannot STAND Coleen Nolan.

I hate the sort of programmes that are basically Gladiatorial in their approach - poke people, laugh at them, bring everything down to the lowest common denominator , or fawn all over so called 'celebrities'. It's a horrible , mindless programme. A lot of the women on the panel seem to be splashed all over the papers drunk or cheating on their partners, or just a general state.

longwayoff · 31/08/2018 22:23

The Nolans are just mean girls sniggering in a corner of the playground at someone outside their clique. Arrested development. I'm hoping CNs secret is the announcement of her retirement but won't hold my breath.

Viviennemary · 31/08/2018 22:29

I haven't watched Loose Women for years. But I thought I'll watch the apology. None. should have known better than to expect one I suppose. It was bullying even DH agreed after I told him to watch the clip. People should complain to Ofcom and sign the petition if they feel strongly that it was an incident of bullying. Which I think it absolutely was.

canofdietcoke · 31/08/2018 22:34

What amazes me is that all of them, all of them, did this live on tv knowing that it would be recorded and replayed and replayed. They just couldn’t help themselves.

Are they really that ignorant? That nasty that they couldn’t help themselves?

MissEliza · 31/08/2018 22:34

I find daytime ITV to be horrible. You start with Piers Morgan goading people, Jeremy Kyle having a go at the 'lower classes', Phil and Holly condescending, the bitchfest of LW and Judge Rinder belittling people (I hate it when he shouts Talking!). It's such a negative channel. Even Lorraine has turned into a bit of a cow.

MaluCachu · 31/08/2018 22:39

I posted this thread and will leave it now with just this.Shame on you ITV,shame on you Coleen and Linda Nolan for your witchy whisperings and shame on Linda Robson for stating the obvious ‘you’re angry’ and Janet Street Porter (special shame to you for donning a twatty judge outfit, who the fuck do you think you are to ‘judge’?).Your shit smells the same as ours.Quit the poking and actually take the time to understand PROPERLY anyone who is struggling.Whether in the limelight or not!Sleep well tonight ladies.

I have never watched Loose Women ( haven’t lived in the country since it has been on TV), but watched this on YouTube. It is so utterly demeaning to women that this is what we are reduced to on TV. It could, and should, be a programme that shows women discussing issues, sometimes serious, sometimes llighthearted, in the way we usually discuss things, with insight and intelligence. From whatever walk of life we come from.

Some of the panelists don’t seem to grasp that, but Janet Steet Porter should hang her her head in shame at having any part of it. She should, and I am sure does, understand how damaging to individuals and women in general this is. Why she is part of it I have no idea.

Kim may be ‘difficult ‘, if she is it seems there are very real reasons underlying that. How much better it would have been to have a serious and empathetic discussion with her about those issues.

TheRealHousewife · 31/08/2018 22:45

MaluCachu I wonder if Colon Noleen sleeps well.

TheRealHousewife · 31/08/2018 22:46

TheRealHousewife · 31/08/2018 22:47

For heavens sake Coleen Nolan

dontcallmelen · 31/08/2018 22:49

PrickWhittington · 31/08/2018 22:56

KW wasn't beating anyone though was she - weird comparison.

CN was the first one to throw any insults, with the 'vile witch' comment. It is bollocks that she 'sat and took 8 minutes of abuse' like she said.

Given the level of provocation KW was given I actually think he was quite restrained. I'm wondering if people are seeing the full interview, and all that was said or just the bit where KW (understandably) rises to it all.

And as others have said, she was also the one who diffused the situation by walking off, and not rising to the continuing jeering comments being made as she did so.

They all acted despicably.

Colon about sums her up.

Full of shit 😂

canofdietcoke · 31/08/2018 23:04

I’ve handled difficult people in my job. I never resorted to bullying.

canofdietcoke · 31/08/2018 23:12

MarthasGinYard

Yes pulled out because she thought she’d be better out of the limelight.

Unlike some who have taken the opportunity to promote their big news.

Rylan tweeted “Jesus Christ loose women” and “what have I just watched” on the day. Lots of replies condemning the bullying.
