Has anyone else just watched Loose Women/Kim Woodburn’s outburst?

People are still complaining to Ofcom this morning apparently. Be interesting to see just how many complaints they get eventually. Whether Ofcom reprimand the show and ITV at a later date remains to be seen but if I was an advertiser during the show I'd be seriously asking questions and if I was controller of ITV I'd be concerned about continuing to air a programme that is getting this level of complaints.

beeefcake · 30/08/2018 09:06

I really can't stand her. She is a vile woman

Thesearmsofmine · 30/08/2018 09:06

Loose Women could be a good programme if the women actually had well informed opinions on the subjects they discuss.

I’m a sahm so pretty much their target audience and I would watch with my lunch if they had some interesting discussions and guests that weren’t the dregs of reality shows.

Trampire · 30/08/2018 09:12

I haven't watched LW in many many years. I gave a vague memory that it see to have some fairly superficial (given the time given) but interesting discussion about news stories, current events etc.

This show I don't even recognise.

I've watched the clip and all I can see is a angry, hurt and unwell older woman being essentially bullied and then Nade out to be the one who doesn't want to build bridges. Awful.

3catsandcounting · 30/08/2018 09:19

I got the feeling Linda Robson was at the wrong end of the table, essentially on her own, thinking "shiiiiit"!!
Had she been between the Nolans, I think she'd been different.
Awful viewing anyway, so unprofessional.

Truckingonandon · 30/08/2018 09:27

@DidimusStench I'm not missing any point.

Truckingonandon · 30/08/2018 09:30

DHS - you're criticising Coleen for her behaviour and yet in the same breath, you call her a fat face. Can't you see the irony of that?

Dumela · 30/08/2018 09:31

I will gladly sign the petition to remove CN. Also the women on the panel think they can insult, criticise and mock people anyhow ( and get away with it). JSP is no good either. Awful ghastly bullies, the lot of theml

WilburIsSomePig · 30/08/2018 09:36

I really can't stand her. She is a vile woman

Which one do you mean?

bumhead · 30/08/2018 09:40

A horrible shit show where a gaggle of nasty women gang up on a vulnerable pensioner. It was painful to watch and I hope Colleen is removed.

bumhead · 30/08/2018 09:49

Anyone got a link to the petition to remove CN from LW?

Soulqueen · 30/08/2018 09:51

Judy Finnigan was never seen again after her comments on loose women about Ched Evans. I hope the same fate happens to Coleen.

HushabyeMountainGoat · 30/08/2018 09:55

It's an awful programme and a bit of an insult to it's target audience really. I seem to remember it being a bit like like a televised version of mumsnet with some interesting conversations, back when i was a student in the mid 00s.

I don't really know what it is now.

FabulouslyFab · 30/08/2018 09:56

Of course LW will be loving all this publicity!

longwayoff · 30/08/2018 09:57

Wilbur, what does it matter? Take your pick

Roussette · 30/08/2018 09:58

bum

Here

Roussette · 30/08/2018 10:02

That 12.30 slot could be so much better. Such a captive audience - retired people, new Mums, those off work for whatever reason.

I've always found the programme so asinine. Every one of the women who go on there irritate me. I'd rather a cooking programme than that, and there's enough of those!

Soulqueen · 30/08/2018 10:05

I think the production team will be in crisis talks knowing they have played this very wrong.

bumhead · 30/08/2018 10:08

Roussette thank you. I've signed. Hope she goes and fast

fieryginger · 30/08/2018 10:13

I'm no Kim fan, but there was a gang mentality going on, which left a bad taste in my mouth. Can't stand the Nolan's though.

worstmotherintheworld · 30/08/2018 10:14

Is CN an agony aunt? If so I think that role may be in jeopardy now. Wednesday's show was an absolute embarrassment. What were the producers thinking? I feel sorry for some of the more sensible panellists who will probably have to make amends for what happened. I looked CN up on Wikipedia and wonder if someone has updated the first paragraph since yesterday's LW Shock. I wish the Nolans would just go away, they seem to seize any opportunity to make a few quid.

ShatnersWig · 30/08/2018 10:19

@worstmother Yes, unbelievably, she is an agony aunt for the Mirror. Although I suspect, like many of similar columns, the advice given is from someone else and they just use CN's name (she still gets paid, of course). With her views on gay marriage and now this, you cannot possibly have her supposedly dispensing advice.

Roussette · 30/08/2018 10:27

I am laughing at the Wiki page for CN. The photo of her bears absolutely NO resemblance to her whatsoever.

She is a Mirror Agony Aunt, I can't see that carrying on.

Smokeahontas · 30/08/2018 10:27

Can see them calling in either Ruth or Kaye to try & sort this mess out today. They cannot ignore it or give a 30 second statement. It was an extremely uncomfortable watch.

bumhead · 30/08/2018 10:29

The twitter posts from Coleen's account are appalling. She's like an agressive teenager. And I don't believe for one second it isn't Coleen doing it. As if she's so important she doesn't do her own tweeting..
