Has anyone else just watched Loose Women/Kim Woodburn’s outburst?

She didnt deserve the treatment she got on the show it was utterly horrible

OutwiththeOutCrowd · 30/08/2018 10:44

It was certainly car crash TV.

I’d like to know why the producers don’t try to emulate the original American version the View more. They have some knowledgeable and funny panellists who are prepared to discuss politics and what’s happening in the wider world.

I want to eavesdrop on a conversation amongst women who are better informed and wittier than I am – a low bar, which I’m not entirely convinced the Loose Women panellists are able to clear!

9amTrain · 30/08/2018 10:50

I'm going to be watching today to see what they have to say about it!

SillySallySingsSongs · 30/08/2018 10:53

I'm going to be watching today to see what they have to say about it!

I've got a feeling it will be a completely different panel and it won't be mentioned.

longwayoff · 30/08/2018 10:54

I expect the low standard of guest is because people don't want to tarnish their image by appearing on such low rent tv. Its a downward spiral I suppose. I only know it by its reputation, I saw yesterday's on replay due to the OP but wouldnt choose to watch.

Trampire · 30/08/2018 10:54

I agree. There is a real gap for a 'grown-up' programme that is predominantly women, who discuss issues like politics and news events. Big important stuff with intelligence.

Not this tv version of a shit 45p magazine nicked from your gps surgery.

It's embarrassing and insulting to women in general.

Singingitoverandoverandover · 30/08/2018 10:58

Haven’t read read he full thread. I didn’t like Kim in Cbb but remember we only see hugely edited sections of the way entertainment.
She is an elderly lady.
That has had a horrific childhood.
Why on earth would they put her i with that mix of people by herself other than to cause a scene. What was the comment muttered under breath when Kim started talking about her childhood? Followed by the Nolan’s giving it “we KNOW..” as if to say , “this old story again” which is bloody horrible I’m sorry. Her childhood should not be dismissed. It’s not an excuse for her nasty behaviour at times but for Christ sake she’s a human being, clearly struggling to keep her emotions in check. These women pushed her too far.
Poor Kim.

The Nolan’s should be ashamed.

rainbowsandsmiles · 30/08/2018 11:02

The twitter posts from Coleen's account are appalling. She's like an agressive teenager. And I don't believe for one second it isn't Coleen doing it. As if she's so important she doesn't do her own tweeting..

Agree they're appalling, what on earth is the official Twitter page on about?! Reads like it's being managed by a bunch of children in the playground!
Lots of people do have social media managers that do things like tweet on their behalf though, so it's more than likely someone doing it for her. Think she needs to rethink who though!

9amTrain · 30/08/2018 11:22

@SillySallySingsSongs

I hope not, they shouldn't be able to ignore it after the uproar it caused

knittedwoollenmouse · 30/08/2018 11:24

This is what happens when tv is dumbed down to the level of LW and BB. Utter trash tv. People think this is how they’re supposed to live Sad

picklemepopcorn · 30/08/2018 11:33

They need a woman's hour type programme.

Can someone report back what happens? I don't normally watch and don't want to start now!

rainbowsandsmiles · 30/08/2018 11:42

They must have had a re-think with that Worst Witch Miss Hardbroom "pleasant nightmares" tweet as that seems to have been deleted now.
The Wonder Woman "deflecting negativity like..." still standing though so presumably they think that one's OK. Hmm
Even the majority of Twitter says it was awful and that says a lot! Have they stopped to think that maybe there's a REASON they're having to "deflect negativity like....."?!

DunkandEggAgain · 30/08/2018 11:57

This thread should be tweeted.

ShatnersWig · 30/08/2018 12:05

@Singing The "under her breath" comments were as follows:

While Kim spoke about her "brutal childhood" an off-screen Coleen can be heard whispering "we got this every day as well" (presumably to Linda) and then adding (to JSP) "She's going to cry in a minute"

That is what has really got a lot of people's backs up. It's belittling someone who is talking about being abused. Bearing in mind Coleen's father raped her sister and was an abuser, that's a disgrace. Can you imagine if Coleen was talking about her sister being raped and someone muttered "here we go again" under their breath she wouldn't kick off.

That alone makes me agree with KW. CN is evil and trash.

Roussette · 30/08/2018 12:05

They must have had a re-think with that Worst Witch Miss Hardbroom "pleasant nightmares" tweet as that seems to have been deleted now

What on earth was that? I'm on Twitter and never saw it... it sounds awful Shock

ShatnersWig · 30/08/2018 12:07

Ofcom now say they've received over 3,000 complaints. Sweep that under the carpet, ITV

rainbowsandsmiles · 30/08/2018 12:09

Roussette - somebody posted a screenshot a few pages ago on here a few pages ago

LadyRochfordsHoickedGusset · 30/08/2018 12:10

Did it not even get mentioned on This Morning or anywhere else? Confused. Something to hide ITV?

Oliversmumsarmy · 30/08/2018 12:14

*I'm going to be watching today to see what they have to say about it!

I've got a feeling it will be a completely different panel and it won't be mentioned*

Or a grovelling apology to save their jobs

Roussette · 30/08/2018 12:18

This Morning have just done a link to LW

It's Nadia, Stacey, Jane Moore and JSP today and not a word about yesterday yet.

Roussette · 30/08/2018 12:18

Thanks rainbow I'll have a look, I might've read it actually but my brain is slow today Grin

ShatnersWig · 30/08/2018 12:21

The equally charming Shane Nolan has continued spouting trash on Twitter and says his mum isn't on again until Friday.

Ofcom of course may find there is nothing to investigate in terms of breaking any broadcasting rules. ITV and the production company still need to handle this well and I don't know why they have not instructed CN to reign in whoever does her Twitter because it's really not helped. Even though they are supposedly not her own tweets, they are speaking for her.

I do worry they will try to forget about it or try and sweep it away and I really hope viewers won't let them.

SillySallySingsSongs · 30/08/2018 12:22

Whoever is running CN Twitter account is doing her no favours whatsoever. Shock

Roussette · 30/08/2018 12:25

Is this really helping??

Wait, wait a minute, what’s that sound , that’s the sound of my mum skipping down the halls of ITV because she hasn’t been sacked. U absolute morons 😂😂 that block button is absolutely brilliant

Roussette · 30/08/2018 12:31

I've never heard such whooping and hollering as when the panel were being introduced Hmm

So LW is on and they're going to be talking to some Xfactor contestant or other about anxiety. Shock

So far, nothing, nowt, nada.

All about Stacey Solomon and the fat shaming magazine cover
