It's perhaps worth considering that there are a few (OK, a VERY few) people who are so rich that $1500 for a party is not actually a big deal. If that's your social circle (where everyone routinely drops $500 on buying their mates dinner when it's their turn) then it's more like being asked to chip in £50 each when your normal night out is £25.

Surely this is made up: the Goop-style language about self-discovery descends into chat about cunts and hoes, the $5k wedding ring at age 18, the son who doesn't seem to have been factored into the two months of travel in South America... I enjoyed reading it though!

Wish it had been written better with things like the son being thought about for the 2 month backpacking thing or the $5k ring at 18 or them meeting at 14, spending summers falling in love and then fast forwarding to high school.............?
