Settle a debate. I’m not saying I do or have. But if you chose to bite off your toenails could you?

Redglitter · 22/08/2018 23:41

No definitely not

Hiphopopotamus · 22/08/2018 23:41

Not bite all off, but chew like fingernails

Nope but then I suspect I am the wrong side of 50 and you aren't! post menopausal knee and joint aches put paid to a lot of things.

I could.

That's all I'm saying.

Hiphopopotamus · 22/08/2018 23:43

Just to reiterate - I don’t bite my toenails. But just in a debate with DP - I think most people could if they chose to. He thinks they couldn’t

How old are you, OP? It's something I could do when I was younger and I could get my foot behind my head, but nowhere near being able to get my foot near my mouth now (If I even wanted to). And I'd pop my hip out If I tried it with my right leg. Not even 45 yet either.

TrudeauGirl · 22/08/2018 23:45

I can't do it and I'm still in my 20s but I'm tight hamstringed.

Atthebottomofthesea · 22/08/2018 23:45

I'm not even going to try.

My 6yr old did have a good try to lick their elbow yesterday.

mumeeee · 22/08/2018 23:46

No I couldn't.

TeaByTheSeaside · 22/08/2018 23:46

No I'm too old and stiff. I just tried and couldn't get it anywhere near!

Hiphopopotamus · 22/08/2018 23:49

I’m 32 if that puts anything into perspective. I’m fairly unfit and certainly don’t do yoga, but I can get my toes into my mouth if need be (again, I don’t bite my toenails, I just tested this tonight!)

OP posts:
CommanderDaisy · 22/08/2018 23:51

I could, but I wouldn't. But I am also hypermobile. And 45.

Dennishoppersocks · 22/08/2018 23:52

I’m hyper mobile and can do it. I’m 47.

Allthatsnot · 22/08/2018 23:55

Yes I can at 40 and on the large size, my little toe on my left foot is a bit challenging Grin

Not even close and I'm in my 20s!

Hiphopopotamus · 23/08/2018 00:03

I’m finding this genuinely interesting! I’m in bad shape so I assumed that if I could do it, everyone could

OP posts:
9GreenBottles · 23/08/2018 00:03

I could as a child. Definitely can't now.

caliroll · 23/08/2018 00:04

My 11 yr old has never touched a nailclipper as far as I know. I've told her that if she can still bite her toenails when she's my age, I'll be impressed.

marilyntaylor · 23/08/2018 00:05

I've just tested it and I found I can get both my feet up to my mouth, although I drew the line at actually biting my toenails. I'm 57 and I'm quite proud of myself. I started going to Pilates classes about 6 months ago, and I've definitely become more flexible.

lecossaise · 23/08/2018 00:05

I have just tried (to reach, not to actually bite them Envy) and.. only my big toe.

Stinkbomb · 23/08/2018 00:06

I could - just tried!

Hiphopopotamus · 23/08/2018 00:07

It’s ok everyone - I assume that if you’ve tried due to this thread you’re not actually prolific toenail biters, just experimenters of the ability to get toe to mouth!

OP posts:
Longdistance · 23/08/2018 00:08

No chance. My legs are too long, and I have a short body. And, I have zero desire to bite my toenails 🤮
