AIBU to think that everyone can bite their toenails

Settle a debate. I’m not saying I do or have. But if you chose to bite off your toenails could you?

54 years young, right toes no problem...left can't do !!!

Roomba · 23/08/2018 21:26

I could, not that I'd want to! I know this because my six year old was sitting with his foot almost wrapped round his neck last week, and my mother commented how no one else present could get their foot to their chin. So I tried and found I still could (I'm 42 shortly). But I do have hypermobility in my hips so that may explain it!

DieAntword · 23/08/2018 21:28

My BMI is 38 and even when it was >40 I could and did bite my toenails (look I find cutting nails makes them too sharp ok).

theSnuffster · 23/08/2018 21:31

Just tried- I can reach, just! I'm 30. And overweight.

Namechange170518 · 23/08/2018 21:33

I struggle to get my socks on tbh.

puzzledlady · 23/08/2018 21:35

I can. Confused

PrincessConsuelaBannanaHammock · 23/08/2018 21:36

I can, 25 & not overly fit or bendy but at least I know the option to bite my toenails is there is required 😂

Deadringer · 23/08/2018 21:38

There are 7 people in my home of various ages and fitness levels/bendiness, and only one could do it, my hyper mobile 9year old. So imo yabu.

Oysterbabe · 23/08/2018 21:39

I'm 37 and can. I'm surprised actually as my body is pretty fucked. My knees make a grinding noise on stairs.

mejon · 23/08/2018 21:40

I could as a child but now at 50 no chance. 7yo DC can - as her mangled and virtually non-existent toenails attest.

user1486076969 · 23/08/2018 21:41

Wrong side of 50....no way

Maliali · 23/08/2018 21:41

I can but I have ehlers Danlos syndrome so even though I’m 57
And totally unfit it’s doable

Thecurtainsofdestiny · 23/08/2018 21:45

I could. Am nearly 50.

But why would I want to??

CherryBlossom23 · 23/08/2018 21:46

I can but I have hypermobile hips and long legs. Late 20s here. OH can't get anywhere near.

Time40 · 23/08/2018 22:09

Gosh, that isn't something I've tried to do for well over forty years ... but yes, I have just tested that, and I could if I wanted to. This creates a very strange image - all these strangers across the world suddenly trying to put their feet near their mouths.

Nope but then I suspect I am the wrong side of 50 Goodness, pp - don't you know?

MumW · 23/08/2018 22:13

Nope but then I suspect I am the wrong side of 50

I might be the wrong side of 50 but couldn't even do it when I was the right side of 20.

CottonSock · 23/08/2018 22:16

No way...just tried and I'm bloody short and used to be flexible

HairyBaby · 23/08/2018 22:20

Yes, easily. 46.

toomanychilder · 23/08/2018 22:22

I could but certainly not everyone can.

I was appalled recently to discover that my husband and 50% of our children cannot touch their toes! Seriously actually can't touch their toes, wtf!!?

ButchyRestingFace · 23/08/2018 22:23

I have mild one sided CP and can do it on the affected side. But that side is hypermobile. 🙂

barneymcgroo · 23/08/2018 22:25

Just tried it. Not a chance. But I also can't sit cross legged either. Hips don't go that way.

cloudtree · 23/08/2018 22:26

I can. I know this because I demonstrated to my sister yesterday. I’m 44 and haven’t done any exercise in 25 years...

Sandstormbrewing · 23/08/2018 22:35

Ask on could I get my toes to mouth, physically? Then yes I can. DH can't get his within 20inches of his face! He's so inflexible. A yoga instructor laughed at him once he's do bad!

DollyWilde · 23/08/2018 22:38

Double jointed, 29. Can still get my legs behind my head... just

Gillian1980 · 23/08/2018 22:39

Years ago, yes I could have had I wanted to.
Now? No way in hell with my back!
