To think I can wear what I want in my own house?

New neighbours and I think they might be slightly mad.

Few weeks ago she complained about me and oldest dd being in the garden wearing bikinis ( not even teeny bikinis ) as she has a husband and a teenage son and they might see us. I tried hard to make sure if I was out there sunbathing I was away from her garden and moved the kids pool so it would be harder for them to be seen from their fence. ( - the only way they can see in to our garden is when on trampoline, their raised patio or looking out of upstairs window)

This morning I was cleaning kitchen in my pjs (vest and shorts so not revealing) dd was stood by open patio doors chatting to me in shorts and a crop top she sleeps in. Next thing mrs next door is banging on my front door telling me I'm continuing to disrespect her and her family by the provocative way we dress! If we continue to flaunt ourselves she will be complaining to my husband!

I wasn't quite sure what to say - I suggested she maybe wanted to refrain from looking into my house over her fence if we were upsetting her.

She is totally unhinged!

And what on earth does she think he going to do? Tell you off? Take away your pocket money? Stupid woman.

You didn't look at the last post before posting yours? It's pretty...

Ha ha, no, I pressed Add Message on the first page -- didn't notice it went on to four pages and three years! I'd love to know what the nutty neighbour has escalated to...

EspressoDoubleShot · 24/10/2021 18:58

Her husband & son can only see you if they are looking, they need to stop gawping
Love this notion she’ll complain to your husband and he’ll chastise and subdue you

EspressoDoubleShot · 24/10/2021 18:59

Gah 3 year old post

DobbieWhereAreYou · 24/10/2021 19:12

Unbelievable. Are there really people who would just ring their neighbours door to tell them this kind of thing?!

Cakepop9 · 24/10/2021 20:48

I agree that the neighbours are being unfair but traditional clothes from other cultures are still ‘normal’ clothes, they are just u familiar to you. You sound a bit rude when you described their clothes, and antagonising them on purpose is silly, but hopefully they back off as it’s not fair on you.

Ohfudgeme · 24/10/2021 23:49

Whatever happened to your neighbour's?

BIWI · 24/10/2021 23:59

Well, I'm guessing that since it's almost 4 years ago it's pretty much been resolved!

THIS IS A ZOMBIE THREAD

vajingleberry · 25/10/2021 10:02

@Dojacatpaws

Biwi who cares if it's a zombie thread, people are allowed to comment regardless
"regardless" is the key word here.

It is a waste of everybody's time to try and come up with a solution to something that happened years ago.

It is clear that they haven't read anything other than the OP, have no idea that the party went ahead without incident and haven't even bothered looking at a few of the most recent posts (which would tell them that it is a zombie thread).

Lots of people still suggesting counter-complaints and strongly worded letters and "hilarious" ways to wind the neighbour up. How on earth will this help with something that happened in 2018?

I think you'll find, @Hawkins001, that as this was over three years ago, it's probably been resolved.

Much appreciated, although I know this particular situation could of been resolved, my aim was to see how things are since this event happened
