To think peeing in the shower is fine?

Dh thinks it's disgusting. I think it's fine.

The warm water makes me need a wee and I'm not going to get out, soak the floor, dry off and all that.

It's environmentally friendly as less toilet flushing

The water washes the wee away and it's only wee

I thought everyone did it occasionally.

I'd hate it if my husband did this, he definitely never expels any bodily fluid in the shower
Hmmm, ok now we're moving into a whole new area & tbf when DS hits the age to masturbate I'd be more than happy with the shower rather than his bed... just saying Confused

Mmmmdanone · 17/08/2018 22:11

I love a good shower pee! Loads of water washes down after it and I clean the shower, so what's the harm?

LeighaJ · 17/08/2018 22:11

Meh what happens in your private shower is your business your only mistake was telling other people. 😁

Verbena87 · 17/08/2018 22:11

Since acquiring a badly prolapsed bladder (thanks, massive back to back baby Hmm) I wee on all fours in the shower as it’s the only way to fully empty my gravity-dragged bladder. So yes, it’s fine.

Penguin34 · 17/08/2018 22:11

People that don't wee in the shower haven't lived! Mmmmmmm

LeighaJ · 17/08/2018 22:13

I thought most people had accidentally vomited in the shower before. 🤔 Stomach bugs don't really care if a toilet is handy or not.

Grimbles · 17/08/2018 22:14

I've shit in the shower before, I had an upset tummy and was showering to clean myself off and felt my guts go again.

It all gets washed down the plughole, I don't see the issue with having a wee in the shower.

Horridhenry88 · 17/08/2018 22:22

Totally fine. I do it. Plus urine is sterile.

Weepatchesoflove · 17/08/2018 22:28

Missingsocks I don’t wear a tampon to stop the blood going about the bath/shower, just that I have stupidly heavy periods and if I didn’t I’d have blood everywhere.
While I don’t care about where it’s going as such, i don’t want to give myself more work in cleaning the blood up and washing the blood off of the towel stuffs I’d use to dry myself.
I was just wondering if it was an actual thing to not wear anything when having a shower. Obvious pad type sanpro is different, but just wanted to know if I had missed something else that I should/shouldn’t be doing!

shirleyschmidt · 17/08/2018 22:31

First thread ever to actually make me cry with laughter, amazing replies! And yes, a shower pee is fine!

JuliaRobbers · 17/08/2018 22:39

Weep - showertime is for the little window of relief when I don't have to wear anything to catch the blood. Let it flow..and rinse in warm water. Lovely feeling of freedom in those endless days of pads and tampons!

ashtrayheart · 17/08/2018 22:44

Saves on loo roll !

Ontheboardwalk · 17/08/2018 22:49

I think for a toddler with no doubt dodgy aim, telling them not to wee in an open way with shower curtains and toiletries around the shower is fair.

Anyone else, crack on I say

Missingsocks · 17/08/2018 23:02

I'm not just saying this we don't have a shower curtain, we have a screen, toiletries are also kept in the cabinet to stop the toddler grabbing and pouring them all down the plug.

There's nothing to make a mess.

I told dh the fact our toddler, who is toilet trained, and would be very upset if he had an accident anywhere else, happily wees in the shower proves that it's natural.

TheDowagerCuntess · 17/08/2018 23:31

I'm surprised some people actually wear a tampon specially to stop their period blood going down the plug hole.

I don't. I just don't specifically take it out, to have a shower, either...

The question was - 'what do people do to stop menstrual blood going down the plug hole - just curious?' like it was some great unsolvable mystery?!

Raven88 · 17/08/2018 23:44

I'm on the fence with this one. I can't pee in the shower. My body won't let me. It's disgusting if you don't rinse the shower or it hits the walls or toiletries.

Neves7 · 18/08/2018 06:32

I view peeing in the shower the same as peeing in the sea in a wetsuit. Fine if it’s your own shower/wetsuit and you clean it regularly. Rude if it is borrowed.

Neves7 · 18/08/2018 06:33

Or substitute swimsuit if you swim somewhere warm enough that wetsuits are not needed!

StripySocksAndDocs · 18/08/2018 06:46

If your wee is a comparable consistency to poo and vomit, you probably need to drink more water.

Teenagemaw · 18/08/2018 07:57

I haven't read the full thread just popped in to say I pee in the shower... my pee funnily doesn't smell bad because I drink enough water so its weak. I think the ones saying urine stinks to high heaven etc need to be drinking more water.

AynRandTheObjectivist · 18/08/2018 08:03

I can always tell when someone is a shower pisser. Their shower cubicle and bathroom tends to stink of piss in the same way a urinal does (sorry, but it does.)

Presumably you can also tell, then, when someone has been dealing with a toddler accident and has had to shower afterwards?

You should become a human sniffer dog. With powers like this, there's no way you won't be able to detect half a kilo of crack.

Saggital · 18/08/2018 08:06

I’m so used to peeing in the shower that when I go to other peoples houses I often do the same.

LindseyKola · 18/08/2018 08:08

Wait, people who shower without a tampon in, how does that even work? How do you get dry After without the towel being covered in blood? I don’t care about blood going down the sink but don’t see how I could shower on my period without a tampon without creating a huge mess and drips of blood everywhere on the floor and the towel. I had no idea people can shower without a tampon while on their periods!

Crunchymum · 18/08/2018 08:10

Are the people who piss in the shower the same people who Zoflora the toilet every hour and change the bedsheets once a day?

There is some seriously extreme cleanliness (and grottiness... ie pissing in the shower) on MN.

feesh · 18/08/2018 08:19

My period always stops in the shower anyway, so it’s not an issue.
