Dh thinks it's disgusting. I think it's fine.

The warm water makes me need a wee and I'm not going to get out, soak the floor, dry off and all that.

It's environmentally friendly as less toilet flushing

I realised both my sons were weeing in the shower when I cleaned the bathrooom and the shower curtain stank of wee, it was horrible. The whole room didn't noticeably smell but when I got near to the curtain it was really obvious. So for that reason, I wouldn't encourage it! You don't have to flush the loo every time you do a wee.....

I'm not sure on the should/shouldn't with a tampon but I don't.

It is fine, and my shower is above my bath, so I am peeing in the bath!

It literally washes directly down the plug and along into the same waste pipe as it would from the toilet. It doesn’t end up in the kitchen tap or anything!

I've seen threads about peeing in the shower before. Some posters think it's dirty because it splashes up the side of the cubicle!

Unless you're a horse or a fire hydrant, this doesn't happen. It just disappears down the plughole alongside several dozen litres of water.

Oh! As well as washing off poo particles in the shower and having the odd tinkle I have puked in the bath as the loo is right next to it when we got hit by Nora-virus.

Not long ago I had a bad flare-up and needed my spouse to help me in and out of the shower so he would wait in the bathroom while I washed up. I recall getting really awkward one day as, like the OP says, the warm water made me suddenly need to pee. I told him and he was basically "You're in the shower..."

Later, we discussed that 90%+ of my awkwardness was because he was standing outside the shower curtain and he reminded me of all the other body fluids he deals with at home & work. So, in our house, on the gross scale, it's on the lower side. Not a habit, as others said, but when the need arises it does seem less of a faff and just as easy to clean up as anything else in the bathroom. I imagine the stories of guys doing it and it reeking has to do with lack of clean up.

Can't believe this is even an issue at all. Of course it's totally fine (and strangely pleasurable) to pee while standing in a warm shower. Why would it NOT be ok?!

Shower curtains however are another matter.

Crickey what are people doing with their shower curtains? Just leave them open so they dry off and they don’t smell or get mouldy. Then wash them every now and again.
