To think that instagram has jumped the shark?

I used to really love instagram it as a place to get inspiration, eduction or a point in the right direction to go do some research myself on various topics, but am getting bored of it.

The influencer wars (with some clearly playing the game more than others Hmm ), the woke activists who are beginning to believe their own hype (their content becoming about them and how good they are), even the naice art and design accounts that I predominately follow are beginning to be a little lacking.

AIBU to think that insta is in a death spiral? If so (because clearly I have forgotten life before it) where do people find informative and / or creative inspiration outside of it these days. Blogs seem to have died, and facebook is a non starter!

NC because well I am bored!

@raisinsraisins you can check in your settings if it's linked to your Facebook. But I just wanted to say that although I don't have mine linked, people I follow on ig have popped up as suggested friends on Facebook! 😳

@boredyboredy - very glad to hear that Esther brought you joy! For more incongruous animals living in houses, I also follow this page about a woman and her two adorable foxes, (I think they are rescues - she's not saying everyone should go and adopt a fox, apparently they're not ideal pets...)

Snoopychildminder, I follow Gaddy the bearded runner, therunningwife, little runner mel, Sam runs and lifts and runmummyrun amongst others. Gaddy is probably my favourite of the lot. Genuinely nice guy.

@Babbas ads might not be for you on Instagram, but there is no need to mention a few instagrammers and claim they are "low end".
All you had to do was quietly unfollow them, then carry on with your life. Comments like yours are the ones that give social media platforms and forums bad names.

I've received a slap on the wrist from MNHQ. I gave out no personal attacks whatsoever. Ridiculous.

MNHQ if you're going to have a rule that we aren't allowed to refer to particular Instagrammers by name then you need to update the Talk guidelines to make this clear. I didn't even realise you'd commented until you emailed me to tick me off for breaking this arbitrary new rule you introduced just for this thread!!!

I posted upthread to ask why so many posts are being deleted that are just suggesting accounts to follow rather than personal attacks.

But my post has been deleted too - nothing inflammatory in my post at all.

The talk guidelines don’t mention this - could you please clarify what is and isn’t allowed on this thread?
