I got myself measured for the first time today. I have been wearing a 34A basically my whole life. Apparently my back size (not sure if that’s is the correct term!) is 27 but the lady advised I would probably find a 28 too tight so to go for a 30. After trying a few on she told me to go for a 30D for plunge/t-shirt styles and a 30C for balconette styles. Does anyone else have to get different sizes for different styles? My friend thought it was weird the assistant suggested that! I can’t believe I have been wearing the completely wrong size Flowers

36GG. I also have a 34H in a sports bra. Different styles and different makes may require different sizes

AlonsosLeftPinky · 04/08/2018 19:26

38HH and yes, I will change slightly for different styles.

Chocolatecoffeeaddict · 04/08/2018 19:26

Been a 34E for years, but after 4 kids I'm a 36 E/F

BlueBug45 · 04/08/2018 19:26

I'm pregnant so my size has changed but generally different makes and styles mean different sizes. You should go on fit not size.

Bombardier25966 · 04/08/2018 19:29

30/ 32F/FF. I don't see what is odd in wearing different sizes for different styles and brands, no different to any other clothing.

ShinyMe · 04/08/2018 19:30

That's the classic bra fitting result - smaller back, bigger cup. Most people are apparently wearing very wrong sizes. A smaller back and bigger cup will usually look far more supported and will haul you up and forwards more.

I was fitted in Rigby & Peller once and it was amazing. The woman looked at me in my own bra, then stuck her hand in between the back of my bra and my back, and twisted her arm right round and said THAT'S how much too loose your band is. She didn't measure, just looked, and put me in something maybe 6 inches smaller round the band and 4 cup sizes bigger, and I looked much slimmer and my boobs were up round my chin somewhere. I ended up spending like £250 on bras or something, she was so good.

Nowadays I go to Bravissimo and I think I'm a 34 GG.

Ive worn a 34B for years, got measured last year and I'm a 34E... Shock
DH was very impressed!

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 04/08/2018 19:37

38H

Thelastredwinegum · 04/08/2018 19:39

34A

beetrootbang · 04/08/2018 19:39

36J

Thurlow · 04/08/2018 19:41

28FF. And they're nowhere near as impressive as that sounds. A smaller back just needs a larger cup size.

JacintaJones · 04/08/2018 19:43

I measure as a 32E.
I wear a 36D because my back looks better in this size and my breasts dont mind at all.

AndInShortIWasAfraid · 04/08/2018 19:44

34GG, I had been walkking around in a 40D for years thanks M&S, before I finally found my way to Bravissimo.

MyBreadIsEggy · 04/08/2018 19:44

I’ve worn a 32B my whole adult life. Got measured in Rigby & Peller in Cambridge and came out with 28D Blush Couldn’t believe how wrong I’ve been going all these years!

Iamclearlyamug · 04/08/2018 19:48

I'm a 34GG/H

And anyone who says to me they wish they had big boobs - I tell them they're batshit crazy. They're an absolute nightmare, I hate them and if I could afford surgery it'd be the first thing I did 😂😂🙈

Whirlytastic · 04/08/2018 19:49

32G. Would still be wandering around wrongly in a 36B were it not for Bravissimo.

Starbucksbasic123 · 04/08/2018 19:50

Rigby & Peller said 34D but VS said 32DDD! All bras from respective shops fit really well but sizing of bras is likely dependent on shops. VS have made the triple size up as I haven’t seen it in other stores Confused

nipersvest · 04/08/2018 19:51

I'm a 30FF, always go for a full cup style as I have a scar on my left breast and low cut styles will sit across it and irritate. After years of trying to find something that fitted well, I find the brand Fantasie work for me, luckily there's a Wacoal factory outlet not too far and stocks them, down to £7.50 a bra in their recent sale.

dementedpixie · 04/08/2018 19:51

Is 32DDD not just 32E

sanityisamyth · 04/08/2018 19:52

34JJ

Starbucksbasic123 · 04/08/2018 19:55

@dementedpixie I think VS have created triple sizes in some lines but it was hot, noisy and the lady handed me a card with my measurements on and a selection on bras....I didn’t argue but I’ll try that size in other stores, thanks

Skyejuly · 04/08/2018 19:56

30D and 30C xx

soapboxqueen · 04/08/2018 19:57

38F I always get measured and yes bra six can be different in different styles and fabrics.

FinallyHere · 04/08/2018 19:57

@ShinyMe snork at your experience at Rigby & Peller, mine was similar. My first visit was in winter, i was wearing a padded jacket and still the fitter guessed my size right first time. After years of struggling to find bras that fit, i found it a tad emotional.

Have been back many times since, am so grateful to them. 😀
