She’s threw away my bloody dinner!!!

Just a rant,

I had just sat down to dinner, baby kicks off needing a feed and a cuddle, I got him changed and settled and put into bed, and go downstairs to eat my dinner,

And the MIl has thrown it away!!! She bloody threw my dinner away!!!

2 issues here,

1. it would t be so bad if she had actually washed up, I could almost forgive her if she was generally tidying up,

And 2) she has a mouth, why not ask if I was finished, I make it blatantly clear that I was coming back down to eat once baby was settled!! I even put a plate over the plate iykwim, so it stayed at least a fraction warm...

Gah, what did I expect really (you’ll know what I mean if you’ve read my other threads...

Ask her what she is making you now she threw your dinner away.

Order a takeaway?

Wait until you are out one evening and send her a pizza, cash at the door.

I would be bloody furious! Did you ask her why she threw it away?

What did you say to her? I would’ve been fuming!

Sympathies - my FIL once ATE my SILs dinner whilst she was sorting 2 day old baby out as ‘she obviously didn’t want it.
He then sulked all night as she ‘got another dinner’.

Gobsmacked! Hope you have a chippy nearby that MIL can run to and replace said dinner. Not sure you can argue with that kind of crazy though.

Yanbu. That’s very upsetting. I can’t decide which would upset me lost though. Missing a dinner or having/staying with MIL!!

I’d be livid. Punished twice - you have to leave the dinner table, where you were just about to eat, and for your troubles you’ve been denied any food altogether.

Are you at her place or yours OP?

Ask what she is going to make you? Or ask her to pay for your take away.

There's no way that was an accident.

Next time she gets up from the table mid way through a meal, for any reason, pick her plate up and make a run for the bin.

Was there anyone else at the table (e.g. DH, DP, FIL) that could have and should have said something?? My DH would never have allowed my MIL to bin my food if I was sorting either of the kids!
