She’s threw away my bloody dinner!!!

Just a rant,

I had just sat down to dinner, baby kicks off needing a feed and a cuddle, I got him changed and settled and put into bed, and go downstairs to eat my dinner,

And the MIl has thrown it away!!! She bloody threw my dinner away!!!

2 issues here,

  1. it would t be so bad if she had actually washed up, I could almost forgive her if she was generally tidying up,

And 2) she has a mouth, why not ask if I was finished, I make it blatantly clear that I was coming back down to eat once baby was settled!! I even put a plate over the plate iykwim, so it stayed at least a fraction warm...

Gah, what did I expect really (you’ll know what I mean if you’ve read my other threads...

Hahaha, living that her teapot hit the floor.

Well done OP 👍🏻✅👍🏻

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 30/07/2018 21:54

DH has done that by mistake before, or just eaten it, I now loudly announce, "I haven't finished!" He's also washed up DS2's baby rice when I'd just started weaning him, I think he expected him to eat a big bowlful! That started a row, "Why didn't you put it on the table?" Because he'd have wanted it now and I have to serve our supper first, then get him in the booster seat. Hmm

JamPasty · 30/07/2018 21:57

Good on you OP! My brain highlights certain words to me when I read things too quickly - for a moment I thought you had shit in her teapot... make sure to do that if there is ever a next time :)

Eliza9917 · 30/07/2018 21:57

Well done on smashing the teapot :D

Doingreat · 30/07/2018 22:00

Well done for Smashing her teapot op!!

Can someone elaborate a little on the back story with op and mil?

ShirleyPhallus · 30/07/2018 22:01

SO MANY threads go on and on with the OP never taking these dickheads to task

Very pleased to see that you managed to swoop in and break the teapot!

Lunde · 30/07/2018 22:01

In other news, I just smashed her tea pot that she brought along with her to make “proper tea” in

That's - erm - tooo bad Wink

BertrandRussell · 30/07/2018 22:02

My best friend and her husband once are all the soup and bread I had made while I was feeding my new baby. Every scrap. 22 years ago and I haven't forgiven or forgotten.

WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo · 30/07/2018 22:02

I've seen your other threads. She is a piece of work. The teapot accident couldn't have happened to a nicer person Grin I hope you enjoyed your chippy dinner.

RuggerHug · 30/07/2018 22:04

Ha. It's too late now but I would have asked if she had issues with people eating, since she obviously steals everyones food when they're not watching. You know, like a labrador.

SneakyGremlins · 30/07/2018 22:04

Bertrand I wouldn't call her a friend!

GoJetterGirl · 30/07/2018 22:11

for a moment I thought you had shit in her teapot... make sure to do that if there is ever a next time

Now I have plans for tomorrow 🤪😂

My replacement dinner was gorgeous, much better than the original lasagne,

Now I’m going to be excusing myself to go and sit on my arse in mine and hubbys room and read (hang around on mumsnet

ElevenTwelths · 30/07/2018 22:14

Karma

GabsAlot · 30/07/2018 22:15

sorry dont know the backstory but she sounds hateful

glad you smashed her teapot serves her right

MissusGeneHunt · 30/07/2018 22:23

This mil sounds a bloody nightmare from hell.... Not seen other threads, can anyone give a bullet point list of her crimes...?

Perhaps 'bullet' wasn't the best word to use...
OP glad the kebab was good, you deserve it by all accounts!!!

grumpy4squash · 30/07/2018 22:25

I know this won't help in the least but....

My PIL were staying when DC3 was a newborn. I was feeding him for hours and hours in the living room. They made themselves a lunch, ate all of it, tidied up (the good bit), then sat around discussing how nice it was. Not once did they offer to make/bring me anything, not even a cup of tea or a glass of water.

Duskqueen · 30/07/2018 22:26

Shock Nobody would dare do that in my house they know it wouldn't end well for them. I have missed your other threads too OP, but she sounds like a bloody nightmare.

SecretLimonadeDrinker · 30/07/2018 22:31

Love the teapot karma!

When I was on mat leave I only had SMP and money was really tight. I treated myself to two slice of deli counter beef and some nice bread. MIL popped in for a visit that morning, I had a shower, when I came back she had eaten them both, it was mid morning 😡 she then asked me what I was having for lunch. Food shop wasn't being delivered until that evening, had to make do with a toast.

worridmum · 30/07/2018 22:43

If you did it "accidentally" bloody shame on you as that is twatish behavior and you are no better then your MIL i hope you dont have a faverote cup as if you did that to my tea pot your cup might accidentally break too.

Doingreat · 30/07/2018 22:45

@Grimpy4squash i have the rage on your behalf. That's shocking behaviour on your pil part. How dare they cook and eat the dinner when a BREASTFEEDING WOMAN is in the house without offering her any?

The best thing about breastfeeding I found whenever i went round anyone's was having tea and snacks brought to me when I was feeding baby.

StepAwayFromGoogle · 30/07/2018 22:48

@Grumpy4Squash - me too! How they thought I was going to be able to make myself some lunch with a baby clamped to my breast for hours and hours on end is beyond me.

BMW6 · 30/07/2018 22:51

and you have this cow in your home because?.....................

ShirleyPhallus · 30/07/2018 22:51

worridmum

Whole-heartedly disagree!!
