Pyjamas In Hotels

There was a thread recently discussing people wearing pjs in public. We just got back to our hotel and the lift stopped at the floor with the bar, the doors opened and a woman got in wearing pyjamas and slippers and carrying a bottle of wine. She seemed a bit surprised to see us in the lift and we all got off at the same floor. I wouldn’t be brave enough to go to the bar in a hotel dressed like that, but I had to admire her chutzpah. Aibu to think folk should at least throw on some clothes before appearing in public?

LolitaLempicka so you don't sleep in pyjamas, but you put them on to visit public areas of the hotel.

That is attention seeking.

LolitaLempicka · 12/05/2018 06:55

They just get in the way of good hot spontaneous sex ouais

Moritz · 12/05/2018 06:55

If youre that ready for bed and that tired or lazy not to get dressed why even bother with booze? Just go to bed.

LolitaLempicka · 12/05/2018 06:56

Oh speakout don’t you know it 😉

Moritz · 12/05/2018 06:56

It looks so desperate for booze like you have a dependency.

greendale17 · 12/05/2018 06:57

Sorry but for me that is a definite no, it looks so slovenly/lazy and projects such a poor image.

^I agree. Standards in this country are slipping

slovenly 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

They’re just clothes.

speakout · 12/05/2018 07:10

LolitaLempicka if you never sleep in pyjamas why do you own them?

Simply for your "look at me" public flouncing?

JJS888 · 12/05/2018 07:14

If you think room service takes ages you are staying in the wrong hotels

marymoosmum · 12/05/2018 07:20

I think this is fine. Back when me and DH smoked I had to nip into the shop to buy cigarettes in my Pyjamas as my DH didn't have his ID. It's not like your running around naked.

Classy.

nowahousewife · 12/05/2018 07:30

I must stay in the wrong type of hotels as I’ve never seen anyone breakfasting in their pj’s!
With regard to nipping to the bar, sounds practical but not sure if I’d do it myself....

LolitaLempicka · 12/05/2018 07:35

speakout yep....and...?

NameChangeCuzImAHorriblePerson · 12/05/2018 07:37

I've been out for a fag in my pj's at a hotel before. Granted I was a lot younger, and therefore didn't give a shit, but who does it hurt really?

ICantCopeAnymore · 12/05/2018 07:40

She's my hero

Eh? For being so desperate for alcohol she's gone out of her way, in a hotel, in her pyjamas, to get some?

That's very sad to me, certainly not heroic in any way.

SmileEachDay · 12/05/2018 07:41

How are these substantially different?

Good grief. Clothes police. Life’s too short. We’ve had the annual “here we ago again” at work about dress code this week. Colleague X got bollocked for wearing jeans while colleagues Y and Z wear them quite regularly. Colleague A got bollocked for wearing canvas lace up shoes while colleague B wears really skanky trainers most days. I got criticised because my dress was “too short” (I have fucking awesome legs, by the way, and rest of me is a bag of spanners so I highlight my best feature) while colleague M has her flabby tits hanging out every day. Meanwhile the boss (who carries out the bollockings) looks like a bad advert for Littlewoods circa 1989.

LoveProsecco · 12/05/2018 07:46

I wouldn't go to a bar in PJs but I would get room service delivered while I was in pjs.

speakout · 12/05/2018 07:49

For the PJ wearers- is there no where you wouldn't go dressed in them?

LolitaLempicka · 12/05/2018 07:52

I bought pyjamas that look more like yoga pants specifically so I could wear them to work. Then I told everyone about it so it slightly negates the need for them to not look like pyjamas. I live in a fucking hot country. I would go out in a fucking towel if I could.

TestingTestingWonTooFree · 12/05/2018 07:55

There was a fashion for pyjama style clothes recently. Maybe she was wearing those.

Towels are not very practical though are they?

I have lived in a hot country- a towel would be stupid thing to wear. It would slip off, expose your shoulders to the sun, need constant re- adjustment every time you sat down or stood up.

LolitaLempicka · 12/05/2018 07:57

Erm yes. speakout
