Pyjamas In Hotels

There was a thread recently discussing people wearing pjs in public. We just got back to our hotel and the lift stopped at the floor with the bar, the doors opened and a woman got in wearing pyjamas and slippers and carrying a bottle of wine. She seemed a bit surprised to see us in the lift and we all got off at the same floor. I wouldn’t be brave enough to go to the bar in a hotel dressed like that, but I had to admire her chutzpah. Aibu to think folk should at least throw on some clothes before appearing in public?

Drying your hair is terrible for it, and turns my hair into a massive puffball.

It’s much better behaved when damp.

I wore a jumpsuit to work today. It’s not significantly different to my PJs - full day teaching, meeting after school. No one seemed to mind.

@Tess

Yes you’re right, I probably didn’t explain myself well or used the right language. I was trying to build on what other people had said.

Very touché and I appreciate your comment.

You'll always get both sides on here.

From my point of view I think it's tacky, grotty and I will judge, mock & be laughing about it with my friends later on.

You may even get a mention on "You're So Council"....

I have wet hair everytime it rains.

I only have PJ's on in my house.

A hotel is "in public" except for your room so I'd do room service, raid the mini-bar or fling on any old clothes to visit the bar. But no pyjamas.

I'm a smoker, so when I stay at hotels I regularly nip out for a smoke before bed in my pyjamas. I see nothing wrong with it. It's at night and I'm not going to get dressed for the sake for 5 minutes.

Oh boy. You stand outside the hotel in your PJs, smoking?

We all might spontaneously combust.
