To be fucked off at being so pale

Sick of it!

Going to a party with in laws tomorrow night and its either try and gradual tan my legs a bit or wear trousers. Its so fucking annoying.

And before anyone goes down the pale and elegant/pale and interesting route, we're talking a dead corpse blueish clammy shade of pale here, not a gorgeous opaque creamy pale.

Its so annoying. I dont even want to be a bronzed goddess just to have legs that look slightly coloured. You cant just slip on a dress you have to actually prep, do the exfoliating thing, then assess whether the rest of your body matches up, blah blah blah. Couldnt my mother have chosen someone swarthier to mate with?

Just needed to rant. If anyone would like to unleash their rage at their fish flesh coloured legs or another body part nemesis, feel free.

Off to gradual tan me legs now. Or ponder my collection of jeans.

/rant over

Me too!

Plus my legs are hairy just too.

Sexy....everything’s about you’s so sexeeeeeeee

SunshineandRain18 · 11/05/2018 16:48

Howling! 😂

I actually feel your pain! Fake tan does my head in. But I always feel I need it 😁

BrightonCalling · 11/05/2018 16:50

@SunshineandRain18
Yeah! So you exfoliate, moisturise, gradual tan, realise your ankles have orange streaks on them amd your knees are bright orange too (wtf? I followed all the rules) and all of this just to achieve a rich tea skin tone.

Ihatezoflora · 11/05/2018 16:51

I'm the same I have just learned to embrace it
Other people really piss me off though.
Why is acceptable to mention how pale ones skin is ! 😂

purestpetal · 11/05/2018 16:56

Tanned skin is damaged skin, no matter how much some people try to pass it off as healthy!
Buy a gradual tanner, or foundation your legs... you can even do that ( use foundation) on the bits that took a bit too strongly!

harlaandgoddard · 11/05/2018 16:56

What fake tan are you using?! I never exfoliate or moisturise tbh and my tan looks fine as long as I don’t rush it.

I agree it’s a pain in the arse though.

yawning801 · 11/05/2018 16:58

I agree. That mottled, bluish tinge is not a good look. I have been told that I blend in with walls at times (white ones!). My lips are pale too - grr.

coconutbun · 11/05/2018 16:58

Count me in! My OH takes great pleasure in reminding me how pale I am every day whilst doing my foundation in the shade of light porcelain - which is of course still too bloody orange. Angry

IrmaFayLear · 11/05/2018 16:59

I couldn’t help staring at a woman in the bank today. She was 50-ish, but had absolutely gorgeous legs in short shorts. Absolutely blemish free, and smooth and creamy pale. I sound like a right perve (!) but actually I was so envious, as my own legs are not fit for public display. They are white. And never tan, just swell up in the heat and look puffy and blotchy. In the winter they are mottled. And I am actually quite thin - I just have awful dumpy pale legs.

BrightonCalling · 11/05/2018 17:01

@IrmaFayLear
My legs are stick thin so that combined with the blueish shade just makes me look like a person whos been starved in a basement somewhere

Me too and I have been paranoid about it for years. As I get older though I just embrace it. One thing that helps slightly is using foundation on your legs it evens out the corned beef look if you get that too. I have loads of thread veins too, shame as I like the shape of my legs.

MiddleagedManic · 11/05/2018 17:03

Just don't give a toss and wear what you like! As you say, your skin tone wasn't your choice and why is it ok for someone to tell/judge you on your lovely moon-kissed legs? I often hold my tongue when seeing orange-streaked people and want to tell them how orange they look. But, if someone is their natural colour then nothing to judge or comment on. Madness. People in some parts of the world bleaching their skin, others turning orange. Just stop it. Smile and wear what you like. They're your legs and (hopefully!) they work fine so nothing to worry about.

DownAtFraggleRock · 11/05/2018 17:07

No!! don't moisturise before the tan! That's why you're streaky.

Have a good scrub and then put the tanner on. Massage in well to get even coverage.

My ankles are too thick for anyone to think that of me.

yawning801 · 11/05/2018 17:08

My legs look like hairy toothpicks. Enough said. Grin

BusterGonad · 11/05/2018 17:12

I've always got matt natural tan tights in my drawer. I cannot live without them. They hide all sins.

Agent13 · 11/05/2018 17:16

I’m super pale. Can’t be arsed with fake tanning and would look ridiculous anyway. Honestly I just go with it. Yes my legs are white, that’s what colour I am, so what?!

IrmaFayLear · 11/05/2018 17:17

As a teen I would lie in the sun with my legs covered in tea bags. Even the tea held up the white flag and my legs remained resolutely the colour of whites that have been washed 200 times - ie grey.

Bonez · 11/05/2018 17:18

Embrace it!

liverpoolmiss · 11/05/2018 17:19

Couldn't my mother have chosen someone swarthier to mate with?

Love this!

I’m really pale too. Other people will just have to cope, I refuse to be ashamed of my natural skin colour!

NoIsACompleteAnswerSometimes · 11/05/2018 17:21

I am so pale I'm practically translucent. Mu sister tans like a bitch. Life's not fair!
BUT I have nicer hair, lovely ears and I'm thin. She, on the other hand has nice hands and feet (and a marvellous sense of direction)
Get yourself some Garnier tanning moisturiser thingy stuff, (technical name there!) just started using it, bloody marvellous.

MatildaTheCat · 11/05/2018 17:26

I’m a blueish grey but find a quick application of Dove every couple of days keeps me looking fit for the public. The trick is to sit and use both hands to apply the cream in a brisk circular fashion- no streaks or orange socks. Wash your hands to avoid the sixty a day fingers. Grin

DiddimusStench · 11/05/2018 17:29

I hear you. 3 months post Ortiz and still being asked randomly how much blood I lost or of I’m anaemic. Nope, I always have the pale skin Hmm

I would never fake tan. Ever. I embrace the pale face Grin

DiddimusStench · 11/05/2018 17:29

POST PARTUM. I have no idea who Ortiz is the sneaky little fucker

Alpacages · 11/05/2018 17:32

People always say to me ‘your legs are a lovely colour’
It’s Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs, I use it all summer, it’s great stuff. So easy to use and you really can’t fuck it up. Get the light or fair one. It looks a little bit orange when it goes on but it dries to a natural hint of a tan and covers the veins and unevenness.
I would never leave the house with bare legs without it.

ThistleAmore · 11/05/2018 17:34

@MiddleAgedManic - 'moon-kissed' is my new favourite phrase. :D
