I think my friend should pay, she thinks we should split it?

Driving a friend 4 hours away for an operation (cosmetic) and will use 2 full tanks of fuel in my car, cost of a hotel, food while I'm there and I'm using a days annual leave.
She wants to split all costs down the middle, whereas I think I'm using my holiday entitlement and 2 days of my time (which I am more than happy to give up) but don't think I should be paying for fuel, or for the hotel? I've said I'll pay for all my own food.
Her logic is we're both going so why should only she pay, she's already paying lots for surgery.
My logic is I wouldn't be going if it wasn't to do her a favour so don't see it fair to split costs.
Whats the right thing to do here? Don't want to be mean but trying to be fair...

It’s hilarous and terrifying in equal measure that someone this stupid and lacking in self awareness actually functions in society. Well done for calling her out OP

Mamabear1475 · 09/05/2018 22:15

I don't know how you didn't go round and give her a slap after the comment about you trying for a baby. I wouldn't be able to control myself. Well done you OP Grin
All the best for trying for a baby xx Flowers

MaxPepsi · 09/05/2018 22:16

If I didn't know better I would think this is an ex friend of mine.
Completely batshit attention seeking FB posts threatening legal action etc etc

I know it's not her as a)she's already had A boob job and b) as batshit as she is she would have paid all expenses

Unless it really is her, how many crazy women can there be!!

Imelda03 · 09/05/2018 22:16

Shes a total attention seeker. And thick (hate using that word but hey ho) no legal action can be taken at all. It's telling that none of these FB friends have come to her rescue re a lift and now due to her compulsive lying she couldn't accept as she's made out the ops are health related.......she is a CF

TheTroutofNoCraic · 09/05/2018 22:16

There are no words!!! CF!!!!

BibiThree · 09/05/2018 22:17

She sounds utterly vile, highly self absorbed and a nasty liar.
Good on you OP, you did the right thing.

harriethoyle · 09/05/2018 22:20

OP I am a lawyer and I PROMISE you, if you're served with papers, I will act for you, for free!

AmazingGrace16 · 09/05/2018 22:21

cannot believe the updates!!! what a CF indeed!!!

Petalflowers · 09/05/2018 22:22

There are no words...

JourneyToThePlacentaOfTheEarth · 09/05/2018 22:22

What an absolute dick of a woman she is. Sue you indeed, you owe her jack shit!

Dobby1sAFreeElf · 09/05/2018 22:23

Let her sue you. She'll get into even more debt and won't be able to afford any unnecessary surgery.

She still needs her head removing from up her arse though.

RuggerHug · 09/05/2018 22:23

MaxPepsi there's at least 3 because it's very like someone I used to be friends with aswell. Very into public legal threats/involving police if she felt she'd been wronged by anyone.

My favourite of her batshit antics was her trying to get a pharmacists licence taken away and to sue the health system. Because they wouldn't hand over painkillers for free that she had no prescription for and no intention of paying for. I say favourite, because she didn't hurt people with that one, just showed her loony.

Pixieandpud · 09/05/2018 22:24

Harriethoyle - just spotted the username! Not a fellow purple uniformer by any chance??

MrsMozart · 09/05/2018 22:25

Bloody hell! What a prize bitch.

PetulantPolecat · 09/05/2018 22:26

You realise ALL of it - ALL - is just a big performance so that one of her “friends” will step up and be guilted into doing the taxi run you refused?

And you do realise a week ago you would have bought her bullshit and been the first to volunteer to help her out?

Ginger1982 · 09/05/2018 22:26

What is she even talking about??

Can your friend not post something on your behalf or does she not want to rock the boat? I would totally go all guns blazing for my friend.

diddl · 09/05/2018 22:27

That is just nasty beyond words.

She can still get to her appointment & back!

Ginkypig · 09/05/2018 22:29

please please please orchestrate her to take this to judge rinder, he will rip her to shreds!

It does mean I'll have to start recording judge tinder though which will screw my TiVo, hmmm worth it.

crazycatgal · 09/05/2018 22:31

What a pathetic bitch thinking she would be able to sue you 😂

The comment she made about you trying to get pregnant was absolutely vile. I'm glad the silly bitch has ended up losing 13k.

feral · 09/05/2018 22:33

Good luck to her trying to sue you? She'd be laughed out of court!

Good on you OP.

TheKarateKitty · 09/05/2018 22:37

"Any of my lovely Facebook friends come from a legal background? I am currently logging an application for order that a debtor attend court for questioning and need some help wording it. Pm me if you can help"

I think my friend should pay, she thinks we should split it?
SteveMcGarrettsBudgieSmugglers · 09/05/2018 22:39

please ask your friend to post

if you need a lift and pay for the fuel and other costs I will help you out

TheKarateKitty · 09/05/2018 22:40

Oops, the pic didn’t show.

I think my friend should pay, she thinks we should split it?
Welshgal1 · 09/05/2018 22:40

I've had a google of the company and they have a chaperone policy so she would of been refused surgery if turning up alone, and with the timings she would of lost the full balance according to their cancellation policy so sounds like she has lost the £13k.

Her comments are disgusting indeed but I've only been ttc for a couple of months (with no reason to assume I'm infertile, just extremely long cycles) however, she will be paying off a £13k loan that she gained nothing from for 7 years. It's actually kind of painful to type that because it is an awful situation, but she's bought it on herself.

ShockShockShock

The best karma will be if you succeed in your attempts to conceive during the lovely surprise weekend that your dp has organised now that you no longer need to be on CF duty Grin. Iirc, you were expecting to be ovulating that weekend Wink

That would be karma! WinkGrinWinkGrinHaloGlitterball
