Interesting request on wedding invite

"Please remember to take some piriton before arriving. The pollen count will be high and the last thing I want is sneezing during the ceremony."

Paraphrased but similar tone.

I can't work out if it's unreasonable to ask your guests to medicate themselves so they don't sniffle Grin

Do they have shares in that particular brand of antihistamine?

If I took it, I would fall asleep and the sound of my snoring is worse than a bit of sniffling and sneezing

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 21/04/2018 18:28

That's Hilarious!

BendydickCuminsnatch · 21/04/2018 18:29

I have confused myself as I find this sensible but also hilarious 😂 who would actually say that on their invite 😄

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 21/04/2018 18:29

Merman is right. Piriton is one of the drowsy types of anti histamine.

WarmFunKindStrong · 21/04/2018 18:29

Wow. She is Bridezilla.

3luckystars · 21/04/2018 18:29

How do they know the pollen count in the future, that’s mad carry on.

letsdolunch321 · 21/04/2018 18:31

WTF .....

expatinscotland · 21/04/2018 18:32

Haahaa!

LittleMissLonesome · 21/04/2018 18:32

🤣🤣🤣🤣

OohMavis · 21/04/2018 18:33

I'm tempted to text to ask if she's stipulating a certain dosage or if she's leaving that up to us Grin

Bendydick me too!

Summer wedding. Maybe they're planning on a whole host of floral plants and are warning their guests who suffer with hay fever?

I think telling people to medicate is unreasonable just to avoid a sniff and a sneeze. But warning them their ceremony might trigger their allergies is a nice thing to do. Maybe the wording could have been less aggressive though.

ConciseandNice · 21/04/2018 18:37

I’d dose myself up and sleep through the whole boring thing, drooling down my top. I do think though that the bride and groom (it isn’t just the bride after all, what kind of misogyny is that?!) was being funny.

Sparklesocks · 21/04/2018 18:37

Hahaha! God I love how loopy weddings make people...!

KitKat1985 · 21/04/2018 18:45

That's bonkers! Grin

Confusedbeetle · 21/04/2018 18:46

Ha Ha, cancel the flowers

MissusGeneHunt · 21/04/2018 18:48

Did she also advise guests to take Peptobismol or gaviscon just in case of a burp or hiccup during the speeches.....?!?!

supercalifragilisticexpiali · 21/04/2018 18:49

Actually on the wedding invitation? For all eternity?

Hahahahahahha!

OohMavis I'd self medicate a little more for the wedding if I were you, it's going to be a loooong day!

Applejack70455 · 21/04/2018 18:50

Dear God. New heights of bridezilla.

phlewf · 21/04/2018 18:50

I have to be careful here but I am known to be fond of a corsage, and was asked not wear one to a friend’s wedding as she doesn’t like the smell. Never mind that not all flowers smell, because she followed it up with a request of no perfume (for everyone not just me).

BennyTheBall · 21/04/2018 18:51

That's hilarious. And ridiculous.

I'm someone that holds sneezes in, but I'd be tempted to let rip in the service just to annoy her!

Homemenu1 · 21/04/2018 18:52

That’s a dig a someone, maybe a mil with allergies,

OohMavis · 21/04/2018 18:53
Grin

The whole invite has me chuckling, it's so specific. A4's worth of extra information and 'did you think about..?' bullet points.

What is it about weddings that turn people into control freaks?!

I love her but she's being a nutter.

cute i love a good sense of humor, not a bad sign in a long term relationship. Grin

supercalifragilisticexpiali · 21/04/2018 18:54

Homemenu1 Ooooh maybe. But everyone half the congregation are going to sneeze during the service just for lols now.
