"Please remember to take some piriton before arriving. The pollen count will be high and the last thing I want is sneezing during the ceremony."

Paraphrased but similar tone.

I can't work out if it's unreasonable to ask your guests to medicate themselves so they don't sniffle Grin

Haha what a wicked idea, like the frog chorus..We all cough together

JennyOnAPlate · 21/04/2018 23:06

I'd track down the closest person with a cold and give them a good snog a few days before the wedding. It'd be so worth it.

blackteasplease · 21/04/2018 23:07

Very very silly!

KeepServingTheDrinks · 22/04/2018 00:18

I think there's something kinda sweet about it. Like... if she's THIS organised, what could possibly go wrong???!!!

TomRavenscroft · 22/04/2018 17:24

But they've not mentioned coughing, farting, belching, yawning, shouting out, vomiting.... you get the idea!

I came on to say just offer up a good round burp instead. That'll be fine. Grin

yerbutnobut · 22/04/2018 17:34

Haha good lord, I can't work out whether I am relieved or feel like I'm missing out when I read about some of the people you guys know in RL!!

DagenhamRoundhouse · 22/04/2018 17:36

Maybe she wants you all drowsy so she can save on the alcohol! If she's serious, you need Cetirizine (Zirtek) as that's non drowsy.

KathyBeale · 22/04/2018 17:39

My absolute favourite thing is ridiculous 'helpful' advice on wedding invitations.

I've had more than one that has told me that taxis are available at the station (in a city centre), and one said that as British weather could be unpredictable, they recommended that guests brought a cardigan.

But hayfever tablets is a whole new level!

Turquoise123 · 22/04/2018 17:39

One word: sad

Purplealienpuke · 22/04/2018 17:41

Well whenever I have a sneezing fit it's normally followed by coughing. This always leads to needing a tena lady and often times farting 😂😂 (No wonder I'm single 😂😂😂🤔🤔🤔). But if I took Piriton I'd be snoring like a freight train so no idea what's worse....... 《wanders away wondering why I don't get invited to weddings, or anywhere really 》

TSSDNCOP · 22/04/2018 17:42

I actually think it’s quite smart. I’m going to a Wedding in a meadow (tipi thing) and I’ve slready made a note to self to dose up and stick on those mozzy patch things.

perfectstorm · 22/04/2018 17:44

That is insane. I've never known a Bridezilla on the MN scale. I'm kind of disappointed, because they sound hilarious. Mostly. The CF species... are not!

Piriton ( any antihistamine actually) isn’t suitable during pregnancy

Piriton is absolutely fine in pregnancy. I had hives really badly, and the Teratological Service for the NHS, who determine safety in pregnancy, assured the GP that Piriton was a-okay. They say not on the leaflets just as they do on almost all drugs, because they can't test them on pregnant women for ethical reasons, but apparently it's been used for decades now and there have been absolutely no issues at all.

JustForThisFred · 22/04/2018 17:44

Ahhh.

She's a teacher

‘Nuff said.

Just keep all texts, emails, invites...then you know what to give her on her 10th Anniversary 🤣

sequencedress ha ha that happened at my wedding too, the waitress caught the table our cake was on and it slowly slid off its pillars!!

I didn’t even notice that when we cut the cake it only had one layer not 3 😊

CadyHeron · 22/04/2018 18:14

Grin

That genuinely made me lol! I'm prone to sneezing. I'd be soooooo tempted to do a massive sneeze followed by loud honking of nose into a hanky.
but then again I'm evil haha

SuspiciouslyMinded · 22/04/2018 18:24

If you’re lucky, there will be a torrential downpour and all the pollen will get washed down! No piriton necesary! 🙂🌧

SuspiciouslyMinded · 22/04/2018 18:31

Can you drink alcohol when you’re on piridon, or does it knock you out straightaway?

SilverBirchTree · 22/04/2018 18:31

Why do we assume the bride put that in?

BuntyII · 22/04/2018 18:36

This is hilarious 😂

Every wedding I've been to recently I've been frozen in fear the entire time in case of causing offence by breathing or moving. This confirms I've been correct to be afraid

snewname · 22/04/2018 18:37

The evening do is going to be fun. The disco blaring away, everyone slumped on the tables like something out of the twilight zone...

Yogagirl123 · 22/04/2018 18:39

Worth going to listen to the vows, I bet they will be something else!

Hereiam1980 · 22/04/2018 18:42

What about farting?

Doobigetta · 22/04/2018 18:42

I've had more than one that has told me that taxis are available at the station (in a city centre), and one said that as British weather could be unpredictable, they recommended that guests brought a cardigan

What absolute arseholes, trying to make sure their guests are comfortable and can find the place. I've provided that information for my guests. I do hope you aren't one of them, cos if so I'm kind of regretting it.

DamsonOnThisDress · 22/04/2018 18:44

@SilverBirchTree

I initially assumed both and referred to "they" in my post but saw afterwards that the OP had referred to just the bride so assumed she knew.
