Interesting request on wedding invite

"Please remember to take some piriton before arriving. The pollen count will be high and the last thing I want is sneezing during the ceremony."

Paraphrased but similar tone.

I can't work out if it's unreasonable to ask your guests to medicate themselves so they don't sniffle Grin

Please, I need to know the exact wording - maybe —she— they are quite reasonable after all! Grin

CherryChasingDotMuncher · 21/04/2018 18:56

Haha that would make me laugh!

GreenTulips · 21/04/2018 18:56

4 pages!

We need more .....

Wingbing · 21/04/2018 18:57

Yes we definitely need to hear more.

Bonkers, I tell ya.

BennyTheBall · 21/04/2018 18:59

They need my mum there. If she sneezes once, she'll do 8 more. Quite loud too.

MothertotheLordsofmisrule · 21/04/2018 19:02

Yes we need the entire list of requests!

RoundaboutSnail · 21/04/2018 19:04

Everyone already knows there are often lots of flowers at weddings. She didn't need to let people know that, but she could have at least made it about the guests' comfort rather than not wanting to hear a rogue sneeze!

GreenItWas · 21/04/2018 19:05

Start practicing a right smokers cough that sounds like you're going to hurl up a lung and with a proper back rattle on inspiration. Perfect it for the day. It will sound a treat on the wedding vid!

SauvignonBlanche · 21/04/2018 19:05

Tell us more! Wink

snozzlemaid · 21/04/2018 19:05

Brilliant. I want to know what else is on the invite now.
Come on share some more.

Mummyoflittledragon · 21/04/2018 19:06

Had she said “just to let hay fever sufferers know we are having flowers in the church and I wouldn’t want anyone spoiling their make up or uncle bob crying st the ceremony so antihistamines at the ready 😉”, she may have got away with it.

honeyishrunkthekid · 21/04/2018 19:07

What was the actual wording.
If an outdoor wedding in spring/summer, I would like the reminder as no one wants streaky eyes and constant sneezing.

WeirdyMcBeardy · 21/04/2018 19:08

No way! Just when you have seen everything Bridezilla. Please share some of the other stuff OP!

EggysMom · 21/04/2018 19:08

All she actually needed to say was "“Please note we are having fresh flowers in the church and reception". Hay fever sufferers will know what to do Smile

Greymisty · 21/04/2018 19:09

Placing marking I want more info from the invite Grin

MushroomGravy · 21/04/2018 19:09

Maybe she thought she was being funny in her phrasing but actually trying to warn people the area will be high risk for hay fever. Some people really strugle with it and if one side of the family all has hayfever it's a helpful warning.

MeMyShelfandIkea · 21/04/2018 19:09

This has got to be a child free wedding?

YippeeTipTap · 21/04/2018 19:09

C’mon, tell us more, You can’t tease us with tales of an A4’s worth of extra info. You’ve already given enough info to out yourself so in for a penny in for a pound.........

Dobbythesockelf · 21/04/2018 19:10

I really want to know what other bullet points she has given....

OohMavis · 21/04/2018 19:10

It's a two-day thing.

There's a comprehensive list of what to pack for those staying, down to fluffy towels (she's stayed at this hotel and their towels aren't fluffy) and hairdryers. And a suggestion to bring 'comfortable, sensible walking shoes as it will be a long day'

Yes mum! Grin

She means well, but it's in June and all we've heard about for the past 18 months is the wedding. We're all gritting our teeth at this point.

I'm getting married in the next couple of years and if I turn into a bridezilla I want someone to slap me. I mean it.
