To wonder if USA are behind Sailsbury attack?

Perhaps I've been watching too many spy dramas, but to me, Russian nerve agent being used to blatently target ex Russian spy screams of a set up from somewhere.

USA are embarassed by the increasing evidence that Russia was able to influence their democratic election.

Forcing their 'closest ally' to condemn Russia for an attack on British soil (and therefore condemn Russia) seems like a way to bring the world back to seeing America as top dog.

Why such an immediate jump to the obvious answer?

Oh gawd. Do you also think that they're behind all those poor children foaming at the mouth in Syria too?

Adelino · 14/04/2018 18:11

Nope

Playdow · 14/04/2018 18:13

Of course they are, and pretty much everything else you news with their puppets in tow, all pre planned.

Playdow · 14/04/2018 18:14

You see, read and hear on the news*

jamoncrumpets · 14/04/2018 18:14

Read about Novichok. Particularly where it's made. And read about Litvinenko.

Shoeracklady · 14/04/2018 18:21

That's kind of the point. Litvinenko was as I remember radiation poisoning, almost certainly from Russia but doesn't leave an irrefutable Russian footprint on it.
Why would Russia use Novichock when it so clearly points back to them?

Birdsgottafly · 14/04/2018 18:31

It was either the US or UK, I agree with the sentiment that it's to stir up anti-Russian feeling.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 14/04/2018 18:34

Oh

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 14/04/2018 18:35

Oh Jeremy stop it

MrsTylerJoseph · 14/04/2018 18:35

I said this right from the start. I reckon he knew too much about the Russian influence on the Trump election and the Americans wanted him silenced.

TalkinPeece · 14/04/2018 18:36

If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, quacks like a duck
its a duck

MrsTylerJoseph · 14/04/2018 18:36

When you hear hoofbeats, think horses.....but sometimes it’s zebras.

lostincumbria · 14/04/2018 18:38

The amazing thing the internet has achieved has allowed the stupid to speak to the stupid and breed stupid.

MrsTylerJoseph · 14/04/2018 18:39

Wow, that’s a tad rude.

JustDanceAddict · 14/04/2018 18:40

No

It always amazes me that conspiracy theorists are prepared to trample mountains of evidence underfoot in order to uphold a pet theory supported by nothing but internet rumours and paranoia.

IveGotBillsTheyreMultiplying · 14/04/2018 18:42

OP As we have free speech it's ok to wonder anything you like in this country. No matter whether it fits the official narrative.

In other countries you would be followed around by the secret service if you dared to voice opinions against the government.

So wonder away.

jamoncrumpets · 14/04/2018 18:44

The people who always say 'it's an inside job' are always the people who claim to have worked out who the murderer is halfway through a tv series - slow clap for you. Except it's actually EASIER to claim everything was an inside job because they will never have any proof that it WASN'T, and that seems to make people think that their, usually uninformed, notions have been somehow legitimised.

TwitterQueen1 · 14/04/2018 18:45

Oh dear God. How stupid can you get?

chocolatesun · 14/04/2018 18:46

YABU

Amanduh · 14/04/2018 18:48

Dear Lord.
Really?!
Confused

user1492877024 · 14/04/2018 18:50

BarbarianMum

What is a conspiracy theorist? Do you actually know?

Adelino · 14/04/2018 18:50

@lostincumbria
It's amazing the internet has given people the opportunity to say such unpleasant things whilst sitting behind screens. It's not like we/ our government haven't been decieved before (I'm looking at you non-existant weapons of mass distraction.)

As aside... When someone come online asking genuine questions about political situations, nasty comments like that are hardly going to help educate. Or do "stupid" people like me not deserve to know your wisdom?

OP posts:
cjferg · 14/04/2018 18:51

I'm not a conspiracy theory nut.

BUT literally nothing the government did would surprise me now. It is highly possible it was US or UK government. For reasons above, and also now the headlines and news are all to do with Russia rather than how much they are fucking up Brexit. Nice wee distraction from that.

cjferg · 14/04/2018 18:55

Adelino God forbid people discuss ideas outwith the status quo.

thought police much????
