All in all, I’m with the OP. I’ve been in similar situations and if you carry on responding it just ends up being an overdramatised shitfest. I learned the hard way to keep any necessary response short, sweet & civil and ignore anything else. Nothing shuts a dramaqueen down faster than ignoring them. That’s not being immature, it’s being sensible where some lidders are concerned.

Update in two parts.
Part 1: before the party
There was no 'strutting in with my posse'. I was always going to be there early with party mum as the cake was at mine and she can't drive. Friend 1 and friend 3 came to mine for lunch cos they knew I was feeling upset and wanted to show support, not just because of soft zilla but because of other things going on. They took the kids for a walk round the block so me and party mum could get sorted and arrived back just before the rest started to show.
As it happens softzilla called me 10 mins before the party started and I did pick up. She said she wanted to meet up before the party so that we could 'have it out' before we get in to the party. I explained that I didn't feel it was necessary, that i was happy to forget that it ever happened and move on and let her know that I was already there as I had helped with the cake. She then said she wanted me to come out to speak to her when she got there, told me to keep an eye on my phone and she would call me when she got there. And put the phone down before I could say I wouldn't be doing that. I sent a message saying to her to please just come in when she got here as I would not be coming out. And that she didn't need to worry about coming in as I am happy to put it behind us.
About half an hour later I received a phonecall from her. I didn't actually notice it at the time because I was busy and it was loud. She eventually came in 45 mins late to the party.
