I am saying why has the OP twice texted SZ to say she is happy to put it behind her when she clearly doesn't mean it? - why did SoftZilla say she had texted an apology to OP when she clearly didn't mean it?

I know you don't owe her any explanation, but it seems to me it couldn't hurt to explain that if all this is based on her perception that you freeload off others she has totally the wrong end of the stick. I'm not sure why PP are so opposed to you explaining that to her.

I think OP doesn’t need to explain herself because it was a bullshit justification. The original argument was “if you invite, you do / don’t pay” it was only after Zilla went shit stiring that she came up with the freeloading justification.

If OP explained the goalposts would be moved to something else. Sometimes the only way to win is to refuse to play.

Op has been perfectly well behaved and suffered the scorn of the nutter even after she attempted to make amends. (The growling, the ignoring, the pathetic attempts to get op's friend to move seats away from her etc)

Hadn't the op already explained herself to softzilla originally though? And has already replied days ago saying she doesn't see an issue any more and wants to put it behind them. It's softzilla who keeps trying to contact her and cause an issue, with no hint of an apology

Or just start her up again.

SZ is a bit nuts so ime it's best to just disengage with crazy because your time would be better spent banging your head against a wall.

Anything and everything op says will be twisted. Sz has already shown she is not above starting lies about the op.

In a phone conversation she has no proof. It's just he said/she said. Op has replied there's nothing to sort. This isn't a marriage. The op doesn't NEED to deal with this but for the sake of the children and not making things awkward for the mums she is trying the minimise the fallout. Which cannot be said for sz who has deliberately tried ousting the op from the friendship group.

Because the freeloading accusation is a bullshit reason that Zilla made up after the event. Explaining it away validates her crap. She wasn’t originally annoyed about freeloading. She made it up later to make OP look bad. Saying OP wasn’t actually freeloading buys into Zilla’s crazy reality and even implies her behaviour would have been ok if OP was freeloading. Well Zilla’s behaviour wasn’t ok even if it was tru. She was causing drama about expecting to be paid for. The freeloading accusation is shit stiring and designed to detract from zilla’s crazy behaviour. It’s best not to even dignify it with responding.

OP did the right thing by saying let’s move on and ignoring it.

The person I feel sorriest for is Softzilla's DC, and that's only because imagine someone as nutty, selfish and malevolent as this being your mum. I have a great deal of admiration and sympathy for the OP, who has been immensely sensible from the beginning, but jeez that poor kid.

If you are bored of this then by all means don’t read it. But this thread has continued because we asked OP to keep us posted. It was such an interesting post originally, with so many parts to it (and so many I could relate to!) that we had to know how it ended! There are many threads that I wish the OPs would come back and just conclude, so in this case we are all (minus you, but you didn’t need to comment) very glad she has.
