The neighbours opposite have an ebay obsession and since dd was a newborn (when we moved in) they've had their parcels delivered to ours. They don't know us and don't speak to us apart from to loudly knock on our door (an wake dd up late at night) to collect it. I don't mind once or twice. But it's nearly every day now. We only see the one but he is so rude. Around Christmas time dd went through a problem with sleep. She fought it terrible and we had finally got her down to nap and BANG BANG "WHERE'S MY PARCEL?!" he's horrible. So I got up then and politely asked he stopped asking us to take them in as we have a baby.

I've literally just been asked by our postman to take 3 huge parcels in for them. They're heavy and taking up my hallway and I'm 39 weeks pregnant now. I'll have a newborn any day and the last thing I want is a newborn and almost 1 year old woken up for a bloody parcel.
It's driving me insane. I asked politely and they still do it and the postman said it said on the delivery instructions (amazon package) to leave with our door number if they weren't in! I'm furious.

Should I tell him again or clonk the rude man on the head with it?

Just refuse the delivery. You don't have to take it just say no to the delivery driver. I only take in parcels now for my immediate neighbours because it was getting ridiculous the amount of parcels I was taking in.

When the drivers knock just say no thank you I’m going on holiday for a week tomorrow. And repeat. Every time

STOP TAKING THEM IN! Honestly, OP, if you continue to act like a doormat they’ll continue to wipe their feet on you. If you’re trying to find the courage, just think of your wee baby being woke up suddenly. That’s not fair.

Why would you agree to take in the huge parcels? If they are not particularly polite about the very nice favour you do in taking the parcels, then just stop. Tell the delivery person/postie that you are no longer taking them.

Stop taking them in. They will soon stop putting your address when they have to go to the office to collect. If they say anything tell them it is getting too much added to which they are rude.

I stopped taking a neighbours parcels when they left a note on their door saying to deliver to us - we are shift workers so were getting woke up and they wouldn’t answer their door when we knew they were there to hand them over.

Refuse delivery. You do not need to take them. Just say "no, I'm refusing to accept delivery" and shut the door. They will soon stop using you as their personal post depot.

Refuse parcels. Also. Don't answer the door! You are 39 weeks pregnant, there's no way you will want to have people knocking any time day or night with a newborn. Stop answering the door! Unhook any doorbells, turn off the lights if necessary.
Put a note through their door that you will be refusing all parcels from now on and they can collect at x time on x day for this last one. CFers

Bringing it on yourself... you can decline to accept any parcels

I had 2 neighbours who did this. I'm in a block of flats and am always at home as I don't keep well. With this in mind, sometimes I'm tucked up in a position that's taken me ten goes to finally get remotely comfortable in or I'm napping through pain and/or meds. Two neighbours started to really take the piss with me. They would have it written on delivery instructions, "Please deliver to number teaiseverything if I'm not in." I'm talking 5 parcels a week from each flat for 2 years. It became ridiculous. The main door to our block of flats is a bit dodgy so sometimes if you shimmy it the right way, it'll just open. Lost count of the number of times I opened my front door to find parcels for cheeky fucker 1 and cheeky fucker 2 dumped at my door. I contacted Amazon, DPD, DHL, Yodel, Hermes, Royal Mail and a couple of others and made it very clear I would not be accepting any more parcels and if they were dumped at my door, I'd be putting them outside regardless of weather. It took a bit of following up with Amazon and Royal Mail but I got there in the end and I've been parcel-less for about 5 months now. I don't mind favours but I'm not a fecking depot.

What an arsehole. I completely agree with everyone saying refuse the parcel. If you don't want to answer put a note on the door that says 'we don't accept parcels for no.23'.
One of our old neighbours was a scary man (lots of past violent behaviour on our street) and he always had parcels delivered to other houses, I refused to take them in because I didn't want him knocking at our door.

That is so bloody cheeky. How do you not know them if they are knocking every day for parcels. Agree with the poster s above, stop taking them. Say the the blocking up your hallway are the last. Amazon is so cheeky as you can arrange pick up points/lockers in various places.

Postman just sort of drops them round. It's ridiculous. I've tried refusing and I got "well those are the instructions" ours are terraced houses so directly opposite. But even after telling them.

Refuse, just say no. You aren't obligated to take the parcels in no matter what your neighbours state on their delivery instructions.

How can the postie drop them if you don't accept them?

If you mean the postie leaves them outside your door, just say you didn't get them - after a couple go missing they'll soon stop.

If you mean the postie knocks on your door - say no, you are not accepting them. If the postie says "but those are the instructions" say "well i did not agree to that and am not accepting them".

It's not hard.

I've had this problem in the past. I put a notice on the door saying I would not accept any parcels that were not addressed directly to me. I also took a dated photograph of the notice on my door.

When one of the parcels for a neighbour went missing (I assume it must have been dumped on my doorstep as I certainly never received it) I showed them the notice and the photograph - never been hassled again.

You just have to be more assertive with the postman and say it's not your problem and you will not accept the parcel as you've fallen out with the neighbour.

But seriously op no one can make you accept them just say it's not convenient and you've never given them permission to use your address as backup and close the door.

I always thought you had to accept them incase they do go missing and if they've put down to leave at x address you're liable to replace? Or am I just going crazy?
