Those who research your previous threads on mumsnet so that they can have ammunition to slag you off? Weird and stalkerish.

OP posts:
Trills · 26/02/2018 17:49

TAAT by any chance?

I think it's relevant and acceptable in some posters' cases.

Lilmisskittykat · 26/02/2018 17:50

I couldn't be that bothered...

I just think it's a bit over invested

FissionChips · 26/02/2018 17:51

If you’re that bothered by AS then name change.

Sarsparella · 26/02/2018 17:51

I think people who do that have waaaaaaay too much time on their hands

TrollTheRespawnJeremy · 26/02/2018 17:51

If it is something a bit controversial or requires a bit of thought I don't post on it unless they have a posting history. It's probably a troll or a PBP otherwise.

Trills · 26/02/2018 17:51

Sometimes you just remember things.

nancy75 · 26/02/2018 17:52

Some people just have a good memory, if Ive been on a few threads with you I will remember stuff that has been said.
If the search shows you up to be a massive liar that’s nobody’s fault but your own - everyone knows the search is there

YellowMakesMeSmile · 26/02/2018 17:52

It's a good feature and MN provide it to be used.

beepthemeep · 26/02/2018 17:52

I had one say she had googled my username.

Er. Overinvested much??!

Namechangetempissue · 26/02/2018 17:53

Agree -always think it is a bit sad and odd. "Back in 2002 you said....". Just makes you think some people have far too much time on their hands or need a hobby.

SilverHairedCat · 26/02/2018 17:53

Not creepy at all. Informed is a better description, particularly when some posters are lying for some reason - attention, perhaps?

MaryPoppinsStoleMyHandbag · 26/02/2018 17:54

I generally think that those who do it are a bit over invested in MN.

Keepingupwiththejonesys · 26/02/2018 17:55

Yep, it is a bit odd. Sometimes you definitely remember a certain poster/thread and I think it's fine to bring something up if its relevant and you do genuinely just remember it. To go rooting through posts is a bit odd though.

A poster came on here not long ago and I remembered them posting the exact same weird thread on Netmums so I did say something. I just remembered it though coz I'd thought it was weird on there too

Smaddern · 26/02/2018 17:55

I just think it's a bit over invested

This, with bells on.

Battleax · 26/02/2018 17:56

What’ve you been up to OP?

TheInvisiblePieceofShit · 26/02/2018 17:56

Yes very odd. Bordering on a bit sick.
It's why I name change every few weeks.
There are some nutters on the internet and mumsnet has it's own few too.

MrsMaxwell · 26/02/2018 17:57

Apparently it’s not good etiquette either.

It feels a bit like bullying.

MelonKim · 26/02/2018 17:57

Anyone who does that needs to read a book or something

Julie8008 · 26/02/2018 17:57

Oh dear, you really should have NC, you have a very embarrassing
interesting history of posts. Confused

TenancyTroublesAgain · 26/02/2018 17:58

I knew your thread would be this before I opened it. YADNBU.

WorraLiberty · 26/02/2018 17:59

I think it's relevant and acceptable in some posters' cases.

Me too. It's no different to talking to someone in RL who claims one thing, but the week before they'd claimed the complete opposite.

But the OP is talking about something quite different I think.

Pengggwn · 26/02/2018 18:02

Yes, it's weird.
