Yes, I agree. I have never posted my own thread, although last week I did have a difficult problem I would have really liked thoughts on. It is this that stopped me to be honest. The thought that some people would do this and I would be forever linked to that problem.

There are occasions where posters will try to point score by going back over another posters history, and that is a bit shitty. By the same token though, if you don't make up massive porkys about yourself or talk a lot of bollocks then no one will be able to catch you out.

I couldn't agree more. The very obvious point scoring thing is very childish and as someone upthread said, it can be used when someone is losing the argument, but dragging up something totally irrelevant is not tolerated.

When a poster says something that gets your radar twitching a quick AV can very very enlightening and can give context to things. Especially when what the OP is saying is disjointed or not quite adding up.

The spreadsheet thing is a joke.
There is probably one person with an actual spreadsheet but its not a thing.
That doesn't stop people pretending it is in order to be unpleasant.
Its become shorthand for 'I don't like you so are going to imply you are overinvested and have no life outside of MN'

Anyway its much better to have a dedicated database. Easier to cross reference...

Just to say, we don't find it at all laughable, tbh, we find it invaluable. Trollhunting on threads causes endless hassle and ill feeling and can derail massively, which is why we ask that if people have suspicions they bring them directly to MNHQ.
Hope we've cleared that up.
