To be worried?

I have complex health. Been feeling just not right recently, really tired and generally unwell so gp requested bloods to be done yesterday.
I've had a phone call saying I need to come in and see a dr today. I said I can't until tomorrow but they insisted today so I'm going at 5.10pm.

I have bloods regularly and they've never rang me to come in the next day even when they've been abnormal so why would they now?
They wouldn't tell me over the phone

I don't know what it could be, sorry, but wanted to give a virtual handhold and Flowers This kind of waiting is awful.

Yawnyprawn · 15/02/2018 13:50

I can understand why you're worried, but at least they're calling you in promptly so they can sort out whatever has been found. You're clearly in good hands.

Have you got anyone who can go with you for support? And something to distract yourself in the meantime?

Wishing you the best.

Birdsgottafly · 15/02/2018 13:50

I've had similar to yourself.

The times that I've been asked to go in was to start Vitamin injections straight away, or because they were showing a high level of disease/infection in my system and extra tests have been needed.

Another time is when my kidneys were underperforming.

All fixable but needed attention straight away.

MrsElvis · 15/02/2018 13:51

Maybe focus on they aren't allowed to tell you as you may have questions and then reception can't answer them.

It's great you can be seen today. In three hours you will be put out of your misery. I can imagine this is worrying you sick.

One time my husband was called in urgently and it's because they needed to change his dosage

TheHobbitMum · 15/02/2018 13:52

I have this quite often and it's usually something along the lines of Iron tablets or vitamin injection needed. Hopefully it'll be nothing serious for you too although I totally understand the panic it makes you feel x

hellsbellsmelons · 15/02/2018 14:01

I'd be worried as well.
Often it's nothing too much to worry about but that won't stop you worrying.
Hopefully 5:10 will come around fast.

EmbarrassingTroubles · 15/02/2018 14:04

Thank you all so much. I may try and nap. I hope that it means I won't need hospital?
Think that's what I'm worrying about deep down.

I hope it all turns out to be nothing serious Thanks

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 15/02/2018 14:12

Handhold here. Flowers And chamomile tea to help you relax. Brew

Klobuchar · 15/02/2018 14:15

I hate it when doctor’s surgeries do this, it’s so worrying. I know under certain circumstances they have to contact you somehow, but to tell you nothing is pretty cruel.

Try to relax this afternoon, OP, and not overthink things. You’ll have all the details later.

Lukeandlorelai4Ever · 15/02/2018 14:42
Flowers
EmbarrassingTroubles · 15/02/2018 14:44

Thank you for the handholds. I've tried to post under my usual username (HCantThinkOfAUsername) but an old one has come up that I only used once and can't change it - or work out how too haha

Sugarplumfairy65 · 15/02/2018 17:24

Similar thing happened to me except the doctor turned up at my door at 7pm one evening. I'd had a blood test at the hospital that morning and a TSH of 98 was flagged up . I'd been telling him for 6 months that I felt ill, he just kept telling me it was a virus. He said it was vital I started medication that night, and had brought some thyroxine with him.

LittleMe03 · 15/02/2018 17:35
