If you said no, could you say why? And if possible, could you give examples- I know a couple of people have said that they think feminism has gone too far, and feminists think all men are rapists that sort of thing. If you think that, could you say why? What have you read, or listened to that brought you to that belief? No “tearing to shreds” I promise!

Anyone in possession of a penis is referred to as a penis
Do you describe yourself as a vagina?

Bluedoglead · 10/02/2018 17:50

I am much more than my vagina. Why describe men or trans men as penis?

Wheresmyfuckingcupcake · 10/02/2018 17:51

Too right candlesandincense - some of these people need to chill the fuck out.
There’s much worse stuff going on in this world than women advocating - however vociferously - for the rights of women. If that pisses you off so much, i really have to wonder why, and what you do when faced with something really awful. Is there a Kalashnikov in the boot for when the really bad shit starts?

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 10/02/2018 17:52

No i dont describe myself as a vagina

But thats ok as i dont describe men as penises either...

FrancinePefko · 10/02/2018 17:54

Sorry Rufus
I should have directed that question to the women that do describe all men and transwomen as "penises".

Wheresmyfuckingcupcake · 10/02/2018 17:55

And those women are where, Francine?
I’ve checked behind the sofa and under the bed

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 10/02/2018 17:56

CandlesAndIncense · 10/02/2018 17:56

I don't describe myself as a vagina or men as penises.

But, similarly to the way women are using the word penis on here, I wouldn't be offended if I saw a man post that he didn't expect to find his Grindr feed was full of vaginas.

There are some women on here who appear to have set out with the intention to be very offended by some women. It's very strange.

Wheresmyfuckingcupcake · 10/02/2018 17:57

Looked in the coal shed
Still not found them
They must be out there though

lesDeuxAlps · 10/02/2018 18:03

@Rufustherenegadereindeer1

Safe the anger for the person I was objecting to. They are not my thoughts.

FrancinePefko · 10/02/2018 18:07

The latest excellent and oh-so-well-thought-through piece of feminist branding is "PERF" standing for Penis Exclusionary Radical Feminist.

Then they are surprised and upset that
a) More "normal" women don't want to join their club
b) Even more laughably that they then get called Penisphobic or Phallophobic.

Along with Feminist Jazz Hands (don't trigger my anxiety by applauding at a concert), trying to adopt spellings like "wimmin" and "womb-an" , the irrational hysterical terror of transgender people - the brand and marketing of your entire movement could not get any worse.

WAIT

HandbagKrabby · 10/02/2018 18:10

I live in a parallel universe where people buy birthday presents and cards and cake for adults and where women are routinely treated worse than men for simply being women. I’m sure there are women who go through life being 100% equal at all times but they must also live under an equality rock if they missed yewtree, Rotherham, Oxford, #metoo, the current Oxfam scandal, ‘legsit’, grid girls etc etc etc and don’t think there is any difference in how men and women are treated even if it does not directly effect them personally.

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 10/02/2018 18:11

Oh im not angry

That would involve smashing things and lots of swearing...though actually i swear all the time

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 10/02/2018 18:12

Along with Feminist Jazz Hands (don't trigger my anxiety by applauding at a concert)

Are you sure thats a feminist thing...

Can you link cos ive always been interested in how that started

Was it feminists or universities or labour party conferences?

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 10/02/2018 18:14

the irrational hysterical terror of transgender

Not seen this either

Wheresmyfuckingcupcake · 10/02/2018 18:17

Applauding might be an asd thing- my ds finds sudden applause a bit scary, Although he’s alright if he knows it’s coming.
Loving the idea of feminist branding. I’m filing that with unicorns and the international Jewish conspiracy and other things silly people made up.

FrancinePefko · 10/02/2018 18:19

FEMINST JAZZ HANDS
www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/article/32032291/students-swap-clapping-for-jazz-hands-at-nus-event
Just call me Francine Google from now.

SmileEachDay · 10/02/2018 18:20

The latest excellent and oh-so-well-thought-through piece of feminist branding is "PERF" standing for Penis Exclusionary Radical Feminist.

That’s not feminist “branding” - it’s an exasperated response to the shit load of abuse that women get for stating that the humans with a penis are men.

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 10/02/2018 18:20

She told Newsbeat: "Jazz hands are used throughout NUS in place of clapping as a way to show appreciation of someone's point without interrupting or causing disturbance, as it can create anxiety

So students then...

Thankyou francinegoogle

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 10/02/2018 18:21

I do wonder though if the NUS did it first

Bet they didnt

Wheresmyfuckingcupcake · 10/02/2018 18:22

And the NUS became representative of all feminists everywhere when exactly?
Ps concern about applause triggering anxiety really might be an asd friendly thing by the way. Not that that would stop you mocking it, I suppose. Mocking things seems quite important to you.

Not seen this either

Really? If you look really, really carefully - you might find a teeny tiny hint of it here www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 10/02/2018 18:24

Bollocks francine

You may have decided it's irrational, hysterical and terror...something

But it doesnt mean it is Grin

FrancinePefko · 10/02/2018 18:24

It was the women's conference. They chose to call it Feminist Jazz Hands. Not just Jazz Hands

Wheresmyfuckingcupcake · 10/02/2018 18:25

Interesting choice of words - irrational, hysterical. Words used by misogynists everywhere when they want to undermine women’s complaints. You do know that, right?
