Did you read the sentencing remarks by the judge in full? Rather than the headline figurre? Judges can’t just pluck a sentence out of thin air. There are guidelines and principles they have to follow. If they don’t then the defence can just appeal it. Also he said a number of times that he fact he is on licence for ever means that he wont be released at the end of the term if he is assessed as dangerous.

Denise Bulger has accused the Justice System of colluding with JV, almost giving him a protected sentence.

Its shocking that over the years he has been given Cautions for offences, rather than the usual procedure for a repeat offender.

Denise Bulger is calling for a Public Enquiry, all we can all do is support that.

How many tines has that decision been wrong, particularly in the case of crimes against Women and Children?

We do need to revise offences concerning child abuse images, it doesn't always carry a custodial sentence.

Why a psychiatric unit? Why not prison?

Because, Curious, Venables is severely unwell. He clearly isn't sane, is he?

A secure psychiatric unit isn't going to be that different from prison anyway.
