I think live and let live, but I think it's also yet another pressure for women to bear.
It used to be just diet, trim down there, shave your legs, blow dry your hair and put on some makeup.
Now its fitness for a sculpted body as well as clean eating, full body wax, hair extensions as well as styling, and lash extensions/fillers as well as makeup.
I dont judge and do some of the aforementioned myself.
But I do think its interesting that as feminism has apparently strengthened, the pressures on women physically have increased.
Just look at video footage from the 80s or 90s and compare to today. It all seemed pretty low key back then in comparison.
I also worry about teenage girls these days.
Im in my 30s so pretty impervious to this shit, but I go on FB and every other segment is a hot fitness vlogger or hair straightening brush ad etc. I think if I were 15 today I would be feeling pretty insecure.
Sorry rambling post. All this to say: I think the fully bare look is definitely more omnipresent today, and I think its symptomatic of a more perfection-oriented society - despite arguments that it feels cleaner or just more pleasant. I mean, even with the "it feels cleaner" statements - just how dirty do you think your vag can feel? Don't even get me started on "intimate hygiene" soaps and lotions. Still waiting for a "scented foreskin cleanser", until then im sceptical.
