To think this is a perfectly fine meal?

My main meal of the day. I've had a cheese scone so far all day. Aunt just wandered past and made a comment on what I'm eating. Apparently it's greedy.

She's now sulking in the living room with my parents because I told her it wasn't greedy.

It's about 50g turkey, 50g cheese, five or six slices of beetroot and a tablespoon of pickle. Bread is about half an inch per slice.

Its all delicious and I'm really enjoying it too.

To think this is a perfectly fine meal?

That's a snack!

PinkHeart5914 · 30/12/2017 16:56

I don’t know why people have to comment on what others eat.

It doesn’t look a great deal of food to me 😃 it’s certainly not a greedy portion.

This is mumsnet however so someone will be along to say that couldn’t eat it all and to them that is 2 days meals.

LagunaBubbles · 30/12/2017 16:56

That's more a snack to me than a main meal. What's it got to do with your Aunt what you eat anyway? Confused

TheMadGardener · 30/12/2017 16:56

YABU to eat beetroot, it's revolting stuff!

PurpleDaisies · 30/12/2017 16:59

It doesn’t look like a proper meal to me but around Christmas everything goes to pot a bit. It’s a deconstructed sandwich.

It was not for your aunt to comment though.

Merryoldgoat · 30/12/2017 17:01

Why the fuck is it anyone's business? Looks lovely - hope you enjoyed.

Leave your aunt to sulk - the audacity of insulting someone and then getting annoyed when they defend themselves. There are some proper cunts out there.

How is it weird? It looks just like a bit of a Ploughmans lunch to me with ham ! can't find anything weird about it especially at Christmas time ! And the portion size looks fine.

Babyroobs · 30/12/2017 17:05

Sorry meant to say with Turkey !

Motoko · 30/12/2017 17:05

Looks fine to me.
I haven't had a 'proper' meal since Boxing Day. Since then, I've been grazing on cheeses, crackers, mince pies, cheese straws, xmas cake, dates and various chocolates.

I love the food at this time of year!

Your aunt was BU to pass comment on your food choices and label you “greedy”.

QuestionableMouse · 30/12/2017 17:07

Thanks.

What's weird about it? (genuine question, not being a bitch) It's not the sort of thing I eat very often but when I do, I always really enjoy it.

KungFuEric · 30/12/2017 17:08

It's just the contents of a sandwich filling a plate, nothing noteworthy about it.

MilkTwoSugarsThanks · 30/12/2017 17:08

Maybe she thought you were being greedy because she thought you were having that as a snack? It looks very "snacky" to me.

I'm now hungry.

Cherrycokewinning · 30/12/2017 17:08

That’s the sort of thing everyone eats over Christmas.

How old is she? I am increasingly noticing women in their 60s/70s who seem obsessed with what others eat and take pride in trying to make everyone think they eat like a bird

QuestionableMouse · 30/12/2017 17:09

There was supposed to be ham too but the bastard cat stole it while I was slicing the bread.

iklboo · 30/12/2017 17:09

Exactly Kingfu. It's a deconstructed sandwich. You'd pay £££ for that at Heston's gaff.

She's 67 and tiny.

WorraLiberty · 30/12/2017 17:10

What's weird is taking a photo of it and posting it on social media

Who cares about your aunt's throwaway comment?

She was rude.

LoniceraJaponica · 30/12/2017 17:11

That is the sort of thing I would have for a light lunch. Except for he beetroot - revolting stuff.

rainbowruthie · 30/12/2017 17:11

Looks good to me Smile

Leave your Aunt to her sulking, she is very rude to comment on your meal

ChiaraRimini · 30/12/2017 17:12

Your Aunt is a rude cow and needs to wind her neck in. End of.
