The apprentice winner is selling 825g of basic sweets for £18 +£5 standard delivery

www.sweetsinthecity.co.uk/collection/giant-jars-of-joy/gjoj-retro-classic/

Morrison's are selling almost double the amount of mostly the same sweets for £5 and you can get free delivery

And a multimillionaire invests 250k in this while people up and down the country are having public services cut to the bone. If you made your fortune wouldnt you want to invest in businesses that help the community

The fact it says sweeties on the description would have made me want to fire her on day one. Who says sweeties after age 3? Sooty totally misses the point

IceniLacuna · 18/12/2017 14:04

The glass jar makes it a nicer item and worth more. Morrisons version in a plastic tub would not go with a kitch retro theme and could not be displayed on a shelf.

Yabu unless you are also advocating for collectivised public ownership of all capital and total implementation of the communist manifesto, in which case a jar of sweets is not the biggest thing to tackle.

ZigZagandDustin · 18/12/2017 14:04

I think people typically want to invest in businesses that make money. Though I've no idea how much lord sugar donates or supports through his endeavours. But I can't get worked up about this. It's their business what they invest in. If things go well, maybe a few new jobs will be created, or a few hundred new jobs.

Iwanttobe8stoneagain · 18/12/2017 14:04

Sorry, not sooty )must have made me think of my childhood there)

MatildaTheCat · 18/12/2017 14:04

I think Lord Sugar must be completely out of touch if he thinks this will sell well. A fool and his money comes to mind.

I’m not entirely sure where the link is to public services but certainly a lack of awareness of what constitutes a good gift or good value.

Is that really the culmination of all those weeks of tasks and nonsense? Glad I stopped watching years back if this is British entrepreneurialism at its best. Hmm

Idreamofalandrover · 18/12/2017 14:05

That was a quick jump to the communist manifesto, I just find it a bit disappointing that people with so much money and potential to do good just want more money.

Haven’t watched last nights yet...

Thanks for ruining the ending Idream HmmGrin

Bitchywaitress · 18/12/2017 14:08

Whoops sorry, it's been all over the place and you probably should have hit close when you saw apprentice winner. Stay off the internet of you're behind

OP posts:
ApplesTheHare · 18/12/2017 14:10

Argh haven't watched either!! Add a spoiler alert please Hmm

ApplesTheHare · 18/12/2017 14:11

It's impossible not to know who won from your first sentence Idream

Blackteadrinker77 · 18/12/2017 14:11

Different market.

For my at home family I would buy the mass produced super market version.

A colleague on the sick in hospital or something I'd order these.

RestingGrinchFace · 18/12/2017 14:12

So the people who will be employed by that company aren't members of the community now?

Looneytune253 · 18/12/2017 14:12

Wow that’s uncalled for. Not the op fault you haven’t seen it. Anyway, there’s a twist so not really a spoiler.

NeedMoreSleepOrSugar · 18/12/2017 14:12

Ffs. Cheers for that!

Crunchymum · 18/12/2017 14:14

Managed to not find out who won until this thread OP!

So it's not "all over the place" Confused

gettingbacktoresearch · 18/12/2017 14:14

arghhh I've also managed to avoid social media to avoid finding this out too!!

arethereanyleftatall · 18/12/2017 14:14

Or, you could apologise op and ask mn to change?

ApplesTheHare · 18/12/2017 14:15

Looney it's the OP's fault for not putting anything about The Apprentice in the thread title. A spoiler alert is always nice as it's not always possible to watch on the day.

cliffdiver · 18/12/2017 14:15

Click bait title with a spoiler not strictly pertaining to the title given away in the first sentence. Hmm.

Idreamofalandrover · 18/12/2017 14:16

Hang on I've already said sorry, not that some posters and their rudeness deserve it.

OP posts:
arethereanyleftatall · 18/12/2017 14:17

Still watch it people. It's a good episode. Read no more of this thread.

justpoppngby · 18/12/2017 14:18

Ahh nuts! I've been spoilered 😕

arethereanyleftatall · 18/12/2017 14:18

A 'whoops sorry' followed by 'its all your fault anyway' isn't an apology.
