Text at 8am that school will open at 10:30. Just got another one saying that school will be open then but if you can get in then it doesnt matter and wont affect attendance.

I know it was last minute (rained overnight and then froze, I have never seen a road that is literally an ice rink before), but surely a blanket closure would be more sensible?

Ha ha, I thought from your title that you must be drunk Grin

I agree that just shutting the school in the first place would make the most sense.

Maudlinmaud · 15/12/2017 09:59

Oh my word that title Xmas Grin
YANBU. Don't send the dc today, just curl up and watch Christmas films.

HLBug · 15/12/2017 10:01

Grin How can you forget the “T”s?!

HLBug · 15/12/2017 10:02

Oh, and yes, keep DC off and enjoy an extra day to the weekend.

ShirleyPhallus · 15/12/2017 10:03

How can you forget the “T”s?!

^^ this!!!Grin

metalmum15 · 15/12/2017 10:04

If school don't seem too fussed whether they turn up or not, I would keep them off, especially if it's primary, nothing much ever happens in the last few days before Christmas anyway.

SandAndSea · 15/12/2017 10:05

I need to know about the 'ts' too!

Osolea · 15/12/2017 10:08

They might be doing their best to keep the school open so that they can go ahead with things that the children have been looking forward to. Was there anything planned for today like Christmas lunch or something?

happypoobum · 15/12/2017 10:13

Never mind your AIBU, tell us about the Ts

cheeriosatdawn · 15/12/2017 10:18

@happypoobum : yes yes. The dark tale of the missing t's...good way to start the day. So: OP: what's the story?

MiraiDevant · 15/12/2017 10:18

Come on OP - we need to know! How can you "forget" all the T's??

DonkeyOil · 15/12/2017 10:19

YANBU. Hey shouldn' be so indecisive, hey should definiely jus shu he fecking school!

SchadenfreudePersonified · 15/12/2017 10:20

I used to have a typewriter (The Tripewriter) which was reluctant to use e's and r's, but since going technical this has never been a problem

AmethystRaven · 15/12/2017 10:21

Ours was open as normal but I don't know how many made it in on time, we were 15mins late and there were so many others they abandoned signing in on the screen and we're just writing down names and sending them through!

I was about to turn around and go home when I realised how icy it was but then DD said 'I don't want to miss the Christmas party' so we battled on. Had enough of it now, hope it thaws and stays thawed.

StealthPolarBear · 15/12/2017 10:22

Clandestino · 15/12/2017 10:36

wha happened o he 's?

crunchymint · 15/12/2017 10:39

I would keep them at home if you prefer to, I actually like what your school have done as it means parents who work and can get their children in, don't have the last minute nightmare caused by no childcare and pressure from work.

bluebells1 · 15/12/2017 10:42

What did you do to the T's?

BitOutOfPractice · 15/12/2017 10:45
