Text at 8am that school will open at 10:30. Just got another one saying that school will be open then but if you can get in then it doesnt matter and wont affect attendance.

I know it was last minute (rained overnight and then froze, I have never seen a road that is literally an ice rink before), but surely a blanket closure would be more sensible?

You might be able to get a new keyboard for your laptop as a stopgap. My E key went last year and I replaced the keyboard for about £20.

I sympathise OP. My 'u' went on my work keyboard a few years ago. Super bureaucratic Public sector so 17 requisition forms and 14 signatures required as to why I needed a keyboard when I wasn't on the scheduled replacement list for tha financial year....
