At a 19yr Old Transwoman being elected a Labour woman’s officer

bambambini · 20/11/2017 08:48

Seems the old WO stepped down after alleged bullying and accusation of transphobia. The new WO is a 19 yr old Transwoman - i think who made many of The allegations against the previous WO.

What experience has a 19 yr old TW got to hold this post - weirder than weird.

sorry this is the full archive of his Twitter. archive.is/13EXa

He's trying to delete it, claiming it's fake. Despite the January 2013 timestamp.

OrderMeACurry · 20/11/2017 19:16

I don't think user will be back.

They never come back.

Datun · 20/11/2017 19:17

None of them come back. Ever.

#NoDebate has its uses when you have no argument.

KarlosKKrinkelbeim · 20/11/2017 19:17

Isn’t it amazing how the pro trans contingent consistently pops up, screams “transphobia” and then disappears. You’d think if they had some actual arguments to make, they’d stay and make them. But no.
I guess the truth is they don’t want to argue, persuade, get buy in. What they want is opposition, in particular from women, silenced.

Betty184 · 20/11/2017 19:18

Just trying to catch up on this thread so have I got it right that:

At a time that a light is finally being shone on the sexual harassment that women experience at the hands of men (#MeToo) and the abuse/threats/violence against women in politics (or any woman expressing any opinion that displeases a man) the Labour party have appointed as a Women’s Officer:

  • Someone with a penis who described themselves as a rapist’s apprentice?

  • Has no empathy or understanding of women being uncomfortable/scared of sharing spaces such as changing rooms with biological men – to the point of taking legal action to gain access?

  • Who was involved in the harassment campaign against an experienced, lesbian Women’s Officer for expressing views that this individual did not agree with, to the point that she was pushed out of her post and the whole Committee felt they had to resign due to the harassment?

  • And mocking the Women’s Officer for being ‘less feminine’/decorative then Lily (which is obviously a woman’s main function)?

  • And is now applying for the Jo Cox Programme, set up in memory of a female politician killed by a man for daring to express views that he didn’t agree with?

Is there any craziness I’ve missed in all this?

SlowlyShrinking · 20/11/2017 19:19

Liam seems like a nice lad 😳

KarlosKKrinkelbeim · 20/11/2017 19:19

An admirably succinct précis, Betty!

PencilsInSpace · 20/11/2017 19:21

Gin I'll join anyone imbibing. Vacillating wildly between despairing rage and the hope that this ... this ... will be the thing that wakes the mainstream up to what's going on.

It won't be though, will it, just as all the other impossible awful things haven't stopped the juggernaut. It'll just give misogynists everywhere something to gloat about while conveniently situating themselves 'on the right side of history' (given that history is written by the victors, women will always be on the wrong side).

This is a vulnerable kid almost definitely out of his depth and those who helped manoeuvre him into this position care nothing about women, children or trans people. They're laughing up their sleeves.

From every angle you look at it this is a total gaslighty clusterfuck.

Nope. But when you write it out like that, even my jaw hits the floor. Again.

And now Lily asserting that someone has faked his Twitter account.

Despite a quite evidently genuine conversation on there between him and his brother!

Delusional doesn’t even cover it.

You are being ridiculous User.

I was happy to see same sex marriage become legal, I am happy to support all my LGBT friends to live their lives without discrimination but I am not happy to see a 19 year old transexual as a women’s officer. I suspect I am not alone in that.

I wouldn’t be happy with a 19 year old girl either but at least a girl would have had a longer experience of female life.

PencilsInSpace · 20/11/2017 19:26

Is there any craziness I’ve missed in all this?

Just one thing. A 19 y/o misogynist wanker could not have attained this position without the help of actual grown ups.

runners656 · 20/11/2017 19:32

You are mistaken, runners. It is, amazingly, possible for some of us to be outraged (and active against) both antisemitism and against the misogyny and homophobia inherent in trans activism. If you haven't seen this, that's down to you, because it's there.

thats not my point simply put unless your a member of the Rochester and strood clp its not up to you you might be right about the bigger issues about trans rights but its so disproportionate . maybe i live a sheltered life but ive never met a trans women/man. you might be right than the clp should not of elected him/ her but they did

bellasuewow · 20/11/2017 19:40

Thank you for your summary Betty. Where and when will this madness end. Before my dd grows up I hope.

NettleTea · 20/11/2017 19:41

while Ive got you all here, the same little shit who fed all the tweets to Lily wrote an angry message to a lady who Ive been working with to tell her I was a threat to the trans ASD comminity.

This is because there is a BIG FUCKING PROBLEM with teen girls identifyling as trans, its a different presentation to that theyve had since trans started to be a thing, when the gender clinics opened - you know, when they got about 2 kids a year as oppossed to 2000. Some psychologists are calling it sudden onset dysphoria and liken it to a social contagion. Usually the sex difference is around 80-90% boys, this group swaps it round, about 70% girls. And currently the kids coming through - around 25% are on the autistic spectrum. It could be higher as girls are seriously underdiagnosed. some of the rest are gay. some are most likely fadding or escaping what being a girl means, or being bullied, or abused.

That kind of makes sense. Speaking to adult autistic women they reflect what I felt - they are not 'girlie girls' because we tend not to get those kind of rules. weve been pretty much non conforming since birth. The rules that you do X or Y because you are a girl are simply not logical and the whole girly conversations and romance. yeuch.

But now, because of the Memorandum of Understanding about conversion therapy, if a kid presents as trans, therapists are not really allowed to explore if there are any other reasons for their feelings, for fear of being struck off for not affirming their 'true authentic selves'

Conversion therapy.

In the US they have just done a survey of over 200 girls who detransitioned. Around half of them are on the autistic spectrum. Now sterile. Some mutilated.

Its a problem. But aparently I am the threat to the trans autistic community

I'm amazed that someone has been allowed to do research on this. Was it through a university or privately (given universities' aversion to allowing research on detransitioning)?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 20/11/2017 19:49

I'm guessing you thought the world was going mad when 'same sex' marriage was introduced

Erm. You and your ilk are the ones effectively arguing against same sex marriage!

@NorthCoast
"Is it awful that I misread his Twitter user name of cllrtrisosborne as clitoris osborne? Blush "

I did too - then realised the error as mine is useful and source of great fun whereas I doubt I could say the same about mr osborne Wink

NettleTea · 20/11/2017 20:05

Here is a link. Looks like a survey

desisterresister.wordpress.com/2017/01/11/survey-of-co-morbid-mental-health-in-detransitioned-females-analysis-and-results/

James Caspian, who was the guy refused on the detransition research, passed it on to me aftyer we had coffee and very nice cake.

Datun · 20/11/2017 20:06

weve been pretty much non conforming since birth. The rules that you do X or Y because you are a girl are simply not logical and the whole girly conversations and romance...

This has really stood out for me.

The whole nature versus nurture argument. How much is gender is socially constructed and how much of it is innate?

So someone who does not recognise the social signals that are crucial in order to apply gender to girls and boys?

Being autistic would mean you don’t recognise those social signals, right?

Of all the people for whom gender is meaningless, those who are autistic have to be key.

ApplesinmyPocket · 20/11/2017 20:08

"I believe its called progress. I'm guessing you thought the world was going mad when 'same sex' marriage was introduced. "

Goodness me yes. Of course it's progress that we've come to the point where it's absolutely A-OK, a daringly progressive act of tolerance and inclusion, to bypass any number of suitable actual women to appoint a young lad to the role of Women's Officer! Marvellous! Hmm

Re your second point: no idea why you are conflating gay marriage with this issue? absolutely unrelated. Confused For the record I think you'll find that many of us in opposition to this are actually gay ourselves, or firmly, quietly, delighted that gay marriage has at last been accepted - it never should have been any other way.

Lancelottie · 20/11/2017 20:09

Runner, do you have mid- to late-teenage children? (I do have a reason for asking, promise.)

JamPasty · 20/11/2017 20:12

Well, I emailed Labour HQ to ask for an explanation of how they elected a non-woman to a woman's role. So that'll probably be me getting kicked out of the party for transphobia. Will update as and when (not that they'll ever reply)

Lancelottie · 20/11/2017 20:13

Christ, I'd have been so easily 'identified' as a boy before I hit about 19-20, Datun (yep, ASD, hated my own body during puberty, also had zero intention of ever having children so would have gladly nipped off down the sterilizing route without a care).

Children with ASD mature very much later than average about 27 in my case, on the whole.

RedToothBrush · 20/11/2017 20:14

NettleTea that is fascinating. It rings true with my experience relating to the subject. I am very much unsurprised.

There is limited research in the area but there is a significant number of people who regret transition and found it did not deliver on their expectations.

That should be concerning for the trans community itself. Nothing to do with transphobia. Yet its being silenced. Why?
