To alert you to the fact that Topshop just changed its policy to let men into the women's changing rooms

Been made aware of this today: a 'gender fluid' man having a pop at Topshop because he wasn't allowed to use the women's changing rooms at their Manchester store:

twitter.com/travisalabanza/status/927198660089339904

Topshop have now been quoted as apologising to him, and saying they've changed their policy to get rid of sex-segregated changing rooms altogether.

Another shop to strike off the list. Am I the only one worried this is past the point of no return? Angry

That's me done with Topshop.

Yeah, I know what you meant. Sorry if I didn’t make that clear!

Are you a transwoman? Because that might be the reason why you think people are attracted to gender, not sex.

The trans-ideology says that gender is an innate feeling. Subjective, and outwardly unidentifiable.

So it can’t possibly have anything to do with sexual orientation. In terms of determining it.

FunGirlThree · 08/11/2017 00:03

Agree with PP who have noticed some how men hang about ‘waiting for’ women who are in the changing room, and take the opportunity to have a perv into the changing room. I never use the cubicles right opposite the entry door into the ladies changing room for this reason.

And now shops will let literally anybody in to the ladies changing room who feels like getting changed next to teenage girls and women. What?

Shops could turn some of the men’s changing spaces into gender neutral spaces with proper floor to ceiling solid doors etc. Then that way they can leave all the women’s changing rooms as they are.

I’m a lesbian and I go in women’s changing rooms all the time...

Me too and I don't want any men in there. And, unless you're the kind of lesbian who likes 'ladydick', I'm afraid you're still an evil, oppressive TERF:

So just wondering...... if I decide to take a long lunch hour tomorrow, and I'm in a dress, will Topman let me in their changing rooms?

Would I need to create a shirty tweet?
Or just quote our friend Travis in reverse?

Exactly.

Is there anyone here whose husband would do that? Son? Father?

I know my husband wouldn’t dream of making women feel intimidated and uncomfortable.

Nice, decent men won’t do it.

So who are you left with?

Decent men have no intention of violating women’s boundaries. So you’re just left the ones that aren’t nice or decent.

Travis doesn’t give a shiny shit about the women he’ll discomfort.

And should be excluded on that very basis.

I do sometimes think that woman’s desire to be nice stops them from actually thinking.

Thetoothyteeth · 08/11/2017 00:08

@doubleshot just call them transphobic start saying you identify as oxygen and you have a public account and you're pissed off. Then proceed to do whatever you want and see what happens. Let us know!!!

ALittleBitOfButter · 08/11/2017 00:10

If you're someone who is actually sexually attracted to a transwomen (and accept they can present how they please, including a beard in a suit), then you are not actually a lesbian.

Lesbians are exclusively same-sex attracted, not feminine-stereotype even if it's only on the inside attracted.

Thetoothyteeth · 08/11/2017 00:11

@datun i never actually thought of it this way, none of the men in my life would dream of doing this. They would feel so uncomfortable and like arseholes basically. Which is one of the reasons they are the men i choose to have in my life.

Datun · 08/11/2017 00:13

Not sure why dinosaur made a big deal out of this. Dinosaur, are you a male lesbian?

However many people will not get past their bias, hysteria or lack of belief in gender and sex dysmorphia. They will continue to believe all men wanting to use a female changing roon must be doing it because they are a sexual deviant and predator. They will continue to pass on the belief that women cannot be safe around men.

Please tell us SailorCherries how we're meant to tell apart which ones are the predators and which ones just want to try on a dress?

Akire · 08/11/2017 00:17

This is interesting, I need to use an accessible changing room. Often they are away from main areas and used for both sexs. If I demanded to be with the girls everyone would think I’ve lost the plot because there is a suitable place available. Unless as on this story you have a place to change and want to be near to people you identify with. I identify with able bodied people.. tough luck!

Datun · 08/11/2017 00:21

I can answer that. The ones who demand entry and lose their temper if they don’t get it.

Thetoothyteeth · 08/11/2017 00:22

@ferntwist this is why i have a problem with victim culture - it's creating narcissist monsters. I'm rolling my eyes as much as one can without going blind at what you just wrote - hate crime FFS!!!!!!!! I cannot cope with this rubbish.

Gender fluid...........?
I have no problem with any person transitioning or transitioned from mtf or ftm wanting to use the changing room of their new gender.
I have no problem with anyone wanting to permanently change their gender due to gender dysphoria.

If a man wants to wear a dress that's fine too. Yet to wake up on Monday & say I'm a woman, then on Tuesday & Wednesday I'm a man, on Thursday I'm a woman again, on Friday I'm an it, well is down right ridiculous.

You're either male or female gender full stop (regardless of biological sex) you can't pick & mix depending on what day it is.
Finally if you are a different gender to your sex then you normally look or try to look your gender e.g MtF: Laverne Cox, Caitlyn Jenner, Ariel Reid etc.

If you mean trans women - why does it matter? I’m a lesbian and I go in women’s changing rooms all the time...

What does sexual orientation have to do
with anything? It not about who they are sexually attracted to. It's about the fact that they are males and are therefore many times more likely to commit acts of violence, voyeurism or sexual assault/rape than a female. Why do people insist on pretending that just as many females do these things?

DarthMaiden · 08/11/2017 00:31

I’m going to start going into men’s changing rooms and toilets.

It’s seemingly all unisex now.

I’ll avoid all the queues for the female facilities.

I wonder how long till a man challenges me? Hey ho, it’s ok because I’ve decided I’m a man with a vagina and if they don’t like it they can suck my....

Grilledaubergines · 08/11/2017 00:32

Unbelievable. Somewhere I won’t want my sons to shop any more.

Slimthistime · 08/11/2017 01:02

Datun "I can answer that. The ones who demand entry and lose their temper if they don’t get it"

Ah, but the ones who go quietly to the next shop could be as well.
