Rumours have been circulating about this disgusting man and his sleazy casting couch for years... He has offered a half-hearted apology, but seems rather smug about the fact that his family are supporting him.

AIBU to think his wife is misguided? What sort of example is she setting to her daughter? After all, this isn't a one-off - it is a pattern of serious abuse of women over decades.

Interesting article from 2010 alludes to his casting couch and the fact that each of Harvey's girls was clothed in Marchesa on the red carpet (ie his wife's label). Whatever his wife's kinda hell - this man is the father of 5 daughters. What can that feel like for them. And when men who behave like this say they love women! They lie. Men who do this hate women.

"Harvey's Girls" is just awful. It's part of how this became an open secret, feeding the whole pimp attitude of "they know what they were doing/what did they expect." And they never get to shake off that tag, regardless of where their career goes.

Yeah its very nasty. Like the girls get used and abused twice over - as everyone labels them with it. And what of him? Allowed to get away with it for years.

A friend of mine works in the movie biz and used to describe the important guys as 'he swings a lot of dick in this town.' I used to laugh. Now not so much.

Another of the reasons I think the chatshows hosts havent spoken out, alongside many Hollywood A listers, is that they absolutely knew. And so if they spoke out now they would be accused of being hypocrites. So in fact Glenn Close's response is probably the most honest.

So in that sense, Trump hater as I am, they are not objective critics, they are complicit and partial. Just more sleazey men.

garlic BSD on Wall Street is big swinging dick as in he who fucks everyone metaphorically or, if female, literally. It's not isolated to Hollywood however on Wall Street it's consensual. The women don't work on Wall Street and know exactly what the deal is.

Hollywood it seems this means you just fuck everyone, male, female, with or without consent. These people then have the nerve to point at Wall Street and refer to how awful it is.

That's a good point Dotty. Both similar ages, was supposedly someone high up.
The interview I read was Corey Haim as a little boy on the set saying "this is what we should be doing to get further in Hollywood, everyone should be doing it" and told "no, that's not right, it's not right."
Obviously no idea who it was but not likely to be him as the interview alluded to someone high up.

And when the cast and crew sat down for lunch, the report claims the 65-year-old urged the Captain America star to eat less, telling her, “You look like a fat pig on screen.”

However, when she told Emma, the 58-year-old reportedly “flipped” and told Weinstein that if she got wind of him forcing Hayley or anyone else to go on a diet then she would quit.

“Emma called Harvey out for being a misogynist and a bully and really gave him a hard time,” the source added, explaining that Weinstein then backed down

No. Brideshead was 2008 and she has done lots in the last decade but mainly for Universal or Disney. Only one film out of 20 odd since 2008 was distributed by Weinstein company though.

Very depressing. I always liked the Weinstein brothers, maybe because their mum has same name as me though - I just liked how they named the company after their parents. Their movies are awesome. I guess you’d have to have a lot of guts to tell a powerful movie producer to feck off like you would a normal sleazy guy. Especially when it’s your career on the line.

This has become a liberal witch hunt and that sickens me. Harvey Weinstein is a piece of shit, no doubt about it. But why have people like Meryl Streep, Judi Dench, Nicole Kidman become the bad guys? Because they are women, because they are liberals? People are actually praising Donald Trump over this. This is the man who said that when you are the star you can do anything, grab them by the pussy, anything. And this guy is the hero? It's fucking insane.

Harvey Weinstein is a bad guy and there are many more bad guys in Hollywood who behave like this. Why aren't they being lambasted for their behaviour. Blaming the "liberal elite" feels too much like a smoke screen to me. Move the attention away from where it should be focussed.
