To be really looking forward to going to ikea? What should I buy?

I haven't been to ikea for a couple of years, and next week will be less than half an hour from one, so of course I'm going. I've been looking through the website to try to make a list, but it doesn't work so well for browsing when you don't know what you're looking for. What are your ikea must haves? And AIBU for looking forward to going?

One has been openin near me for the last few years!! I seriously can't wAit it's taken ages.

Ooh we are going this weekend too! Would love ideas of great house products, especially space saver type items.

My current fave is the variera shelf insert, they are so useful for maximising cupboard space and organising them well.

I drove past it the other day and was congratulating myself on not having been in for so long.

Love it there.
The children’s stuff is great and I really need to get some more children’s cutlery.

I neeeed ikea to move closer to me!

The Christmas decorations are usually very nice.

Massive packs of straws
Wrapping paper
Children's bowls/plates/cups
Candles
Photo frames

Last time I went I also got a children's kitchen (they're fab), children's bathrobe and children's paint.

I have never been and not filled my trolley to the brim

What is an underwear octopus? I feel that I must need one ...

...and some glass display cabinets (I've been wanting these for years, Ikea is miles away and sadly, they don't do online shopping)

Oh I love ikea too. I usually get sandwich bags, the flanels in the children's section where you get 10 for £2.50. The throws are really cheap & I cut them up for craft stuff...... Don't forget to go to the cafe for the unlimited cups of tea refills
