In the super market today and heard a mum shout "beige" to her daughter...no joke! At first I thought I had misheard Paige...but no, definitely beige.

Got me thinking... what are the worst names you have come across?

I taught a little girl called Storm. It really suited her, so an apt choice by her parents.

brasty · 03/10/2017 16:30

I like the name storm. Suspect DP would hate it though.

pudding21 · 03/10/2017 16:56

I work recruiting Indian nurses to the UK, some of those have awesome names.

Twinkle, Loveme Lovelace (true), and Thanku are some of my top ones.

I worked with a Lala (Filippino) at the height of the Teletubbies, poor girl.

My son is called Sacha, we live in a country where female names end with an "A" so he might get some shit in the future, but it suits him.

GallicosCats · 03/10/2017 17:04

Someone's probably already mentioned Buddy Bear and River Rocket. Poor little lads.

blackteasplease · 03/10/2017 17:09

I quite like Storm.

The worst one I actually know is Jayla - Gaoler (or Jailer if you like).

I've come across a Chandelier years ago

DoesHeWantToOrNot · 03/10/2017 21:02

Neveah-jade is one I've just seen.

grannytomine · 03/10/2017 21:23

One of my sons has spent most of his life telling me how much he hated his name and that he was going to change it. He is mid 20s now and a few weeks ago told me his name is now OK. I was so shocked I didn't ask him what had changed.

thecatsarecrazy · 03/10/2017 21:40

Apparently my sons name is chavvy on here but I couldn't care less.

BillyAndTheSillies · 03/10/2017 22:14

Twins called Rasta and Fari. I went to school with the mum, who'd always said that's what she wanted to name her children. And she did.

A young girl in the supermarket called L'Oréal. Had assumed her mum was calling her Laurel until I saw the spelling on her book bag.

Lots of Younique's and Princess' where I live.

Jagger.

My DS has a fairly unusual name, it's a literary name but has been hijacked by a restaurant chain in recent years. It's a family name and used traditionally. Never heard a bad word against it apart from an older lady behind the till in a supermarket who declared it "flowery". Luckily, it's not common enough to pop up on these threads but I'm always curious to see if it does!

Fekko · 03/10/2017 23:20

Spudulike?

Alisvolatpropiis · 04/10/2017 06:48

RedBlackberries · 04/10/2017 06:50

Cakebaby123 · 04/10/2017 07:10

Wheelycote · 04/10/2017 07:17

Knittedbreasts · 04/10/2017 07:51

Squidgeymidgey ah that wasn't me!

BillyAndTheSillies · 04/10/2017 07:59

If that's a guess for mine @Alisvolatpropiis you're right.

Goldenbug · 04/10/2017 08:47

Honey-Boo.

Cakebaby123 · 04/10/2017 09:53

My number one most hated name for a boy.. Riley.. Ugh its just such a whiney imasculating name. Can you imagine a grown man being called for a job interview with a name like "Riley"

Yuck

Alisvolatpropiis · 04/10/2017 10:45

It was Billy. Great name, glad I guessed right!

gonnabreakmyrustycage · 04/10/2017 11:29

I really like D'Arcy but dh hates it. D'Arcy Wretzky was the bomb though and I find it cool.

KrytensNanobots I like Artemis too!

I also quite like Fari as a name, not so much when twinned with Rasta though.

Footle · 04/10/2017 13:01

Sensimilia was a pretty but unhelpful name to give a child. No doubt she has changed it, as she’d be in her 30s by now.

TellyBellyJelly · 04/10/2017 13:24

A friend once told me she worked with someone who named their child Willowby.

I’ve also met an Ocean and a Princess.

HipppaHey · 04/10/2017 18:53

@Cakebaby123 I've just commented on another thread that if I have another DD, she'll be Texas! Smile
